Ok mixed feelings about this place
I love the speedball fields they are very well kept and usually set up nice. The tournaments there are awesome because there are so many teams to play. Ive only played there during tournaments and not on the woodsball courses. The pro shop is nice and everything seems reasonably priced. The one thing i dont like here is the reffing during this summer my team has been in the 5 man tournys. During the times we were there we had the refs making horrible calls while we were playing, 1 for 1s when no one played on. Calling hits when it was a little bit of spray off a bunker and not checking another player when we say we hit them. Also it really seemed like they were favoring some of the teams that were there. Heres a good example two guys left on my team one hangs the flag but hes hit so they call a 1 for 1 wich is good its what they should do. Another game we were playing the other team had the same situation the guy who hung the flag was playing on they didnt call any 1 for 1, and it was an obvious hit so yeah.
so overall not satisfied with the reffing but its a good place to play paintball and meet some cool people.
Dispute: Glad you like the field and appreciate the comments.
I am one of the tournament refs.
As far as favoring other teams, we DO NOT do that at all. I could care less who wins. None of the refs care who wins. Most of us do not even know people playing since it's a rookie/novice tournament.
When it comes to calls, I will admit that I have made bad calls. I do believe I have made a lot of really good calls that could have been missed or misinterpreted. We are human. Reffing paintball is very difficult because of how fast everything can happen but we do our best and we continue to try and improve our methods.
As far as some of the calls you mentioned that your team or another team received or did not receive, maybe you can discuss that with me and I can explain it to you. A lot of people do not understand the rules and therefore assume certain calls are wrong.
I can help explain what playing on really means, or when a ref is supposed to check a player. Maybe you misinterpreted a call or maybe we missed something but if you want to discuss, I can do that and we can get a better understanding of things.
PM on Fox 4, PBNation or NEPL forums. My name is NTran on those. We can discuss and make light of this situation.
