This is one of the worst examples of a good field gone bad. I don't know what happened to make the last owner leave but I have to say I miss him. We have played the field for years and had always enjoyed it, but since the new owners moved in it has fallen to the very bottom of our list of fields to play. We will in fact not go back with the current owners in place. We gave them a few of chances to get it together over the course of a month and they just got worse. They jacked the prices of paint so high that those of us with a non rental guns might as well use them because we can't afford to ramp. It's crappy paint too. If that were the only thing I could get past it but alas it's not. Since the new folks came in the air has never gotten past 2100 psi first thing in the morning. They have some little compressor trying to keep up but failing badly. It ran out of gas several times on every visit. Our average air fill was 1500psi with the last two games filling at 1200. Needless to say we ran out of air alot. The refs had the numbers but nothing else. Play was constantly unsafe even with their 25' rule. ( they really shoud get the old group back) Blind firing, masks up on the field, poorly ref'ed games, something they called "vitals" where only torso and head shots count ( tempers flare when people get shot 20 times or more because it wan't a "vital" shot till the 21st) . They people in the store while nice are clueless. They let little kids pick the teams. A couple of times it was real ugly because it ended up all rentals againtst all experenced speed ballers and the like. That's not fun for anyone. After all the rambling it comes to this: what was once our favorate field is now my least. It's a sad day.
Dispute: this user is using bad exapmples first off what makes me angry is first staff has over three pro ballers and 6 semi-pro ballers! i don't call that inexpeireinced. second who cares if little kids pick teams. i've been there 6-7 times and the little kids have don't outstanding and i doudbt the refs allowed the team to get as unfair as all rental players against pro speedballers
Seriously, how do you support an arguement without using examples? That's more than one mind you, example ' SSS. That's the whole point ! I'm sure the refs are wonderful people with great playing skills. That doesn't make them good refs just good players. By the way they are / were not pro ballers. Pro's are the elite few who GET PAID to play. You can be really good and your team win lots of trophies but you are not professional without a regular pay check. I'm on two teams and have been to national tournies and I assure you I am not pro, just someone who spends the paycheck he does get playing paintball. I will say that John is great and was the only reason we went back as much as we did but in the end it was still too much. He's not there all the time as because appartently he has the nerve to have a life once and a while. He won't tell you he's a PRO baller either.
I do want to pose this quandary. Why do the disputes trying to stick up for this field and a couple of the other postings about it sound so much like sales pitches? It is almost like they are advertising. Who would do something like that..........

If you are talking about the staff at the counter then you are wrong, the staff is very inexperianced, the most knoledgeable of them maby having 1 year of experiance.
If you are talking about the Refs then you are only partialy wrong. The main Ref was named Jabba and he is a member of Blues Crew, one of the most recognized Scenario teams in America. Greg Hasteings even runs with BluesCrew as a friend.
The other Referees (myself included) are a team called Warmachine and those of us that reffed typicaly have about 6-12 years experiance each. We have won numerous Most Valuable Team awards and have been asked by MANY fields (including Duncan) to come and reff for them. But by the time that this review was made in March, Warmachine was no longer reffing at Hurricane. We had been chased off by the owner for many many reasons related to his lack of experiance and unwillingness to listen to his Reffing staff about Safety issues and customer satisfaction.
I can vouch for the refs, any field that would chase the old group of refs off the field has NO idea what they're doing. The old refs were better refs than just about anyone you'd find. Safety was top notch, and even the other owners knew enough that hey, these refs bring people back, why not keep them? I refuse to go to hurricane without the former refs there.
everyone i'm sorry for my comment and i would now take my dispute back because now hurricane is garbage and i think vince is going to be too lazy to even throw it in the trash a field with one ref is pathetic
