Warplay (more expensive, very professional, friendly)
Overall Zwackerz is a pretty cool spot. They are located right on Route 20 in Dillwyn. Use google maps and you'll have no problem finding it.
Since there a pretty new place there weren't many people there when I showed up. Actually, it was just me and my wife. It was a cool chance to meet the owner of the place and take a tour of the fields. They've got a decent airball field and all of the bunkers are in great shape. There's a "brush field" where all of the bunkers are made out random brush and large logs. The bunkers were a little far on that one but it's definitely bigger than the airball space. They have a small indoor airball field that I didn't get to try out and a few barns that they are looking to setup for scenario games. No official woodsball setup but that may be later on when business starts to pick up.
The prices for field fee and paint are really good. It's $10 to play and they have Draxxus paint (RecSport, Field & Blaze) for $45,$50 and $55 a case. The price for half a case is about half the price of a full case, which is nice. A lot fields I have seen gouge you for buying by the bag, which is a huge turnoff. The RecSport bounced more than it broke so I eventually moved to Field which was a lot nicer to shoot...or actually it was a lot nicer to get shot with! The fill was easier to see and the shell was noticeably more brittle, but no chops.
Zwackerz is still getting settled in but they've got a really nice framework setup. There are picnic tables setup all over the place for staging and the have reasonably priced snacks available at the counter. They fill air and CO2 (all day air included in field fee) and they even topped me off for the road. They've got a full supply of 98 customs to rent and nice chrono station separate from all of the fields.
The owner, Dennis, is a real nice guy and even though he hasn't really played much himself he's got a really nice setup going. He seemed to be open to comments that we had about field setup, running games, etc.
If you get a chance to check out Zwackerz, definitely give it a shot. They are super nice and reasonably priced. It would also be a nice place to coordinate for team practices if you've got some guys to play with. They have one team that practices there regularly and seemed excited about the prospects of other teams or groups.
