Fox paintball has 14 fields and i have no complaints about any of them but that we couldnt do x-ball both times i went. we could do sup'air though. the refs were okay one was checking everyone and acctually makin calls amd doing a great job but one didnt even seem to care and stood in one place the whole time and didnt call one person out even on obvious hits. the prices are alright but 30 bucks for one day could probably be lowered. one thing that sux is that on open play if there arent 10 people there by noon the whole place closes and u get no money back unless you havent played one game luckly that didnt happen to me. its in the middle of nowhere so it takes a long time to get there. overall i would definetly go here unless u can easily go to badlandz and if you like woodsball this is great but no the best for speedball cause it isnt always inflated
We have more than 14 fields, 2 Xball, Sup'Air, Stonehenge, Apche, B&D, Big Oak, River 1, River 2, Mosquito Pit, Bermuda, Toxic, The Hill, The armory, and The Village. So actually its 15, but 14 is closer than most would get seeing as some fields aren't played much. One field off isnt bad. And out of those 15 you didnt get to play on Xball, 12 outta 15 fields isn't a bad ratio in my book.
Refs, well... Every field has their good ones and their bad ones. I am sorry you had a split that day. All I can say for that is to help the field out by letting management know who was doing a good job, and who wasn't Obviously they cant be on the field all the time watching us so player input is a great tool for weeding out the slackers and getting better refs out there for the players.
Xball being closed. Due to the time and manpower it takes to properly setup and maintain the 52 bunkers of an Xball field it is only set up on weekends. During the week their just isn't enough people to justify it during the week. That is most likely why it wasnt up when you were there. In the future I would suggest giving the field a call and asking if it will be up if those are the fields you are interested in. If you can bring enough people to justify setting it up I'm sure they will have no problem getting it together for you.
The drive, Yeah, its a little way out, but most fields worth a darn are. If you wanna shoot guns you gotta get away from the cities, its just that simple. You mentioned Chasers being close, I'm close to there too and I drive the 45 min out there every Sat and Sun for work. It's not that bad of a drive really, and in my opinion WELL worth it.
Not the greatest place for speedball? Tell that to the teams that have called Fox home this season, Chicago Mafia, Chicago Wiseguys, GSE, Heritics, The NIU Huskies, and Avalanch to name just a few.
Thank you for your review of the field. I understand that the review is of YOUR opinion and you have every right to it. I only ask that next time you have questions/comments/concerns about the field that you find myself or management and have them heard so that we can either explain the policy's or correct the problem.
