I HAVE PLAYED AT FOX4 BUT THEY SEEMED REALLY GEARED TOWARDS SPEEDBALL WHILE THEIR WOODSBALL HAS AN AWESOMW SETUP IT IS POORLY REF'D AND MANAGED. WARZONE OFFERS BOTH AS WELL BUT WOODSBALL PLAY IS WELL THOUGHOUT AND EXECUTED. NO REFS TEXTING DURING THE GAME AT WARZONE. WARZONE IS THE ULTIMATE FOR WOODSBALL!!!!
Directions to the Field:
RIGHT OFF OF 4 ON SHERMANTOWN ROAD, APPROX. 1 MILE OFF OF 4 BEHIND A BERRY FARM WHICH YOU DRIVE INTO TO GET THERE.
Review:
What can I say! I have been to a few fields and all I find are big ego's. It's a game designed to give you a great time. Nick is the greatest when it comes to customer service. The crew he has helping out are great as well. If you need a half an hour to an hour between games to rest and refill this is not the place for you. Nick and the crew make every effort to get you as much playing time as possible. They also emphasize safety here. The prices are fair and warzone allowsyou to bring your own paint. A lot of places around make you buy field paint at fifty to sixty dollars a case as if that makes their field elite or something. That is one thing that keeps me from even considering playing at other fields as I am just a recreational player. Players range here in experience which turns out to be great. Even on your first visit, if you have a question or need an opinion, everyone who plays or works there makes you feel like family. To sum it all up, I wouldn't drive an hour one way if this place wasn't as good as I am saying. If you are a serious but fun loving woodsballer then you should consider this place home. The only reason I give it a 9 overall is that i wouldn't mind some fort modifications.
I don't know what your experience with Fox 4 is, but I've been playing woodsball there since they opened, and I knew those guys when they were reffing back at Friendly Fire since the mid 90's...I think they have great reffing staff and focus on safety first and foremost.
If you ever see bad reffing at Fox 4 let Geeze the head ref know and I'm sure he'll take care of it.
