| Review: |
I believe this is a good all-around field. I have played in several fields overseas, and this one is in the top 3.
Lots of open space, tables to set up, the 3000 psi compressor is well situated, right next to the timing alley (BTW, they have two speed checks, no need to stand in long lines)
I'm not into speedball,l so I won't rate the court... suffice to say that it had lots of inflatable obstacles in the standard shapes, X's, doritos, snake, tombstone, etc... and it seemed to have a nice, clean, level surface.
Now to the milsim scenario... several towers, lots of places to hide behind, nice wooded area to one side and a small hill to the other side...
It gets swampy easily due to the amount of shade, but it's all part of the experience, right?
Lots of knowledgeable easygoing refs (They sometimes ask the players how they wanna play)
Field paint only field... Paint price is standard for the area, $20 per 500 bag. HPA fills free on Sunday walk-on days.
I saw a birthday party going at the rest area in between rounds, how funny is that? I guess it shows how people friendly the place is.
What would I improve?
Well, it needs a paved lot (it's gravel now). It would make the playing field so much more professional looking. But I know paving is not free and businessmen have to keep costs down.
Some of the access paths to the woodsball area are VERY muddy... maybe someone should gravel them to simplify access and improve drainage. This move does not cost a lot of money and people appreciate that.
The field is not too far from Halifax, which is also a plus. They offer snacks and drinks for sale at the Pro shop. Not a lot of choices, but you go there to play, not for a gourmet meal.
I will definitely visit them again. You should too, if you are in the area. I rate it a 8 just because it needs a little work to be a 9, and I don't think there are perfect 10 fields. |
