Other Fields in the Area:
Hill13 - Closer to Austin, more affordable, smaller fields, fewer amenities, equally professional helpful staff.
This review is a year late. I'm eager to visit again to see what has changed. This was the first field I visited in the Austin Area, prior I had only played around Dallas. I took my son who had just turned 10. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had many picnic tables with a roll of paper towels on each. There was a self-serve CO2 filling station. The fields where nice and large. A speed-ball field had interesting barriers and fun to play. My son had a great first time experience (he was very nervous) and I was very thankful for that. I recommend this field.
The only criticism I have is their policy of not allowing outside paint and perhaps only because I felt I didn't get an honest explanation from the person I spoke to on the phone. I was told "Folks that bring their own paint shoot up OUR players and it isn't fair". Hmmm. It's not the superior equipment one might bring such as automatic weapons and electronic hoppers, just that they have their own paint (lots of it, I assume). Your policy, has nothing to do with the reasonable policy that you rely on making money from the paint, huh? Hopefully the rest of the staff isn't so obtuse.

Dispute: Hey bud...be fair about calling these guys obtuse. You do know what it means right?...
obtuse - not quick or alert in perception or intellect; not observant; not sharp.
These guys are the sharpest referees I have ever seen. They always take care of their customers saftey (including your son right?) I looked at their website and saw that it says "field paint only" on it. How were you misinformed if it says it in their advertising? I do not think they are the ones being obtuse.
Do you try to haggle price with every business you come across? If you do not like the prices you do not have to play there. I was a regular there until I moved...but when I played, there were 60 or 70 players there and they were not crying about the price because the place was a blast.
Sorry, obtuse was the wrong word to use and I didn't intend to imply any diminished intellect. Abstruse was the word I meant. And it only applies to the person whom I spoke with on the phone not with any experience I had on the field or with any referees. My view of the referees as indicated in the "Other fields in the area" was that they here helpful and professional. My point is that I felt the explanation given about the field paint was deceptive, that's all. And I stated that I thought the policy to only allow field paint is reasonable, I just felt they should be honest about it. The phone conversation occurred recently and had no effect on my only experience there a year ago and my honest review of my experience there. I stand by my comments.
While I was working today one of our regulars told me that there were some strong opinions being written on this website concerning our field. I have only been on this site a few times but I am amazed at how well put together it is. Some of you guys on here are pretty hard-core...that's great!
As far as the original post from alankley...I have been diligently trying to uncover how you were deceived on the phone. I want you to know that we take you very seriously and I am sorry if you feel like you were deceived. Every employee at Xtreme Paintball knows that we are a field paint only facility...so in turn anyone who has the authority to answer our phone would have known this fact. All I can say at this point is that this issue of being very clear to our customers has been stressed to all of our employees.
To Backman2300...I appreciate all of the kind words you wrote about our staff. However, I do not want anyone to supress anyone elses opinion on our behalf. That is not the kind of people we are at Xtreme Paintball...not to mention it defeats the purpose of this forum.
To all who may read this post...we will continue to improve the quality and service provided at Xtreme Paintball. I assure you that very large percentages of our revenues will continue to be reinvested into the things that the players request. Thank you all for your comments and time.
