I've played at:
Pentagon Paintball in Fairview, great field - more speedball oriented
Hole in the wall in bangor, Michigan, - similar to Three rivers, lots of woods courses.
Playing Games in the woods and golf courses(alot of fun)
Directions to the Field:
Not quite too sure, went up with Edinboro University's CORE, it was basically put on by our SGA, they paid for most of our trip. I'm sure you can mapquest it with the address given on the website or another review.
Directions: if you live in the cranberry/mars area, you probably know how to get there.
Field opened around noon on saturday, got geared up, gassed up, got the paint.
It was an open play day, there was a birthday party for this dude that was on our team.
and a bachelor party, and a few walk in's not including our group of like 9 or 10 guys.
Before the games even started the refs addressed the main groups of people that were there at the time about general safety(barrel condoms when getting off the field, and wearing your mask when on the field, and at the chrono range, etc..)
Then the games began, there were two main teams all day, red-vs-blue. there was a game of capture the flag on one of the woods courses, which turned into elimination, but we had to end up hanging the flag anyway when the opposing blue team was dead.
then we played for about 5 hours on the various woods courses, which had tanks, castles, a fort, vans, jeeps, boats and alot of other things. which made for interesting games.
The quality of the field was nice, field upkeep was very good as well.
Price for paint was 80$ a case for 2k rounds.. which is a bit steeper than other fields I've been to, and they only had one kind of paint as well.
Their rental guns are BT-4's
I was not able to stop in their pro-shop before i left, so i'm not too sure on the prices, or selection they have, but i could tell it wasnt as expansive as pentagons shop.
The refs were fair, and stressed safety to a few players at a few points during the day(somebody took their mask off during a game and in the middle of a fire fight at that, and one was shooting his gun by a pavilion without a mask and not inside the chrono range.)
im not sure i would go back anytime soon, unless i had alot of money. Also the field was just about 2 hours away from the campus. so distance is an issue as well.
I recommend this field to anyone if you are willing to drop alot of money for a day of paintball.
This field gets an 8 because of their price on paint. Other than that, i had a great day of paintball!
