Behind Merritt Square Mall. Colocated with a skate park.
Review:
First time playing at the outdoor field. I'll break it down as best as I can:
Check in area: Prices are decent, staff was friendly. They have snack and drinks to purchase as well.
Paint: I always buy whitebox wherever I play. Theirs was the worst white box I have ever used. I had a lot of barrel breaks and they flew in every direction other than straight. I use J&J ceramic barrels and matched the paint to the bore size. My son has a powerlyte system and he commented about it as well.
Refs: Young kids. One older guy. They were mediocre. Slow game starts, not a whole lot interaction with the players, i.e. paint checks. Also they had games between their "buddies" while the rest of us had to wait to start.
Fields: Speedball field is fine.
The other two are rather small:
Trench field has one of the worst layouts I have seen. All the structures are pushed to
one side. Both sides gravitate towards them and gets all bunched up.
Vietnam field is super small and very sparse for cover. Not great for anyone over 5' 5".
Overall I wasn't impressed and probably won't go back unless I hear things have vastly improved. I realize space is tight where they are located but maybe a bit more field planning could possibly make it a better spot to go.
Sorry to hear that you did not like your experence at CZP! We are limited to space on our fields but they tend to carry large games when we are packed. The trench field has help 30 on 30 matches and Vietnam up to 15 on 15.
We have been working on training more adult ref's and now have 7 on our roster. Ref's are compensated with free field time and free air cards so they are not employees which is why you might have had a bad time the day you were there.
If you come back and have a problem please let us know at checkin when you are there. I can get more done the day something happens than reading about it on this review site.
As far as paint goes, white box is generally crapy paint. some batches are good and some not so good. We suggest shooting better paint for better performance.
During winter months our park handles very large crowds of well over 100 players and during the summer in the 50 and 60 player marks. We understand you can't make all the people happy all the time but we do try.
If you decide to try us again please ask for the owner and metion this review and I will be happy to comp you and your son with free addmission for the day.
We hope to see you again at CZP!
