Other Fields in the Area:
Im defintely disappointed in this paintball field. First off, the young lady working behind the counter is great, shes focused, and very helpful but shes the only one working the register. And theres only 1 register. This isnt good when a group comes in and theres 15 or 20 people. They must have atleast 2 people working groups and walk ons etc... The refs... Like most other fields most refs are kids. They were good with the paint checks, but as far as safety with barrel bags or masks. That weekend i cant tell how many people were in the dead zone or walking off the field without there barrel covers on. Same as the masks.... Another great issue, there chrono has no back net., and there a field right behind the chrono zone. So when playing that field you can have the people whos chrononing shooting you in the back. Another : THERES NO BOUNDARY TAPE ON ANY FIELD !!!!!!!!!! Another : they dont provide arm bands to teams. As I walking on the field your told team 1 or team 2. Imagine the confusion !!!!!!!!
This place doesnt have potential, and almost no fields. No speed ball what so ever cause its not summer time ( what kinda crap is that !! ?? ) Safety was a issue, alot of confusion with their disorganization.
The only only postivie thing i can mention is the price, and byop. Other wise dont waste our money, theres plenty of other fields in NJ. This field gets a -5 stars. !
most fields I've been to only ever have 1 working register. It's inconvenient, but the lines move fairly quickly if everyone has all of the forms filled out and money (or card) in hand.
Name 1 ref under 19. (hint: there aren't any) Most refs at any field are local players that are looking for a summer/winter break job. I don't see why this is a problem.
Paintball as a whole has become very lackadaisical with safety standards. every time I've been to NewBreed there has been a safety briefing. weather or not the players choose to follow instructions is up to them. they will however be thrown out if they choose not to play nice and follow the rules.
The chrono area is indeed within shooting distance of the castle corner. The only time this should be a problem however, is during a castle vs. junkyard match, where there would be someone immediately in front of the chrono area shooting downrange and therefore, drawing fire from downrange. Quick question: why were you in the chrono area when a large game like that was going on? it's kind of like spectating from a ref's point of view. I personally have never gotten hit when in the chrono area, but really, it's paintball. you're going to get shot at eventually.
There's no tape because there are pathways inbetween the fields. you play from the net on one side to the path on the other.
Arm bands ARE provided for first time players, and/or groups. seeing as you stated you have more than 5 years experience, you should know to listen to what group you're in.
8 fields, we chose one to play by majority's vote. majority usually chooses 1 of 4 fields: Junkyard, Castle, Log Jam, Big Woods.
ask ANY of the employees, or call the store, or check their website: SPEEDBALL IS BEING REBUILT FROM THE GROUND UP! IT IS CLOSED UNTIL NEXT SEASON. Thank you for actually looking into the matter at hand.
