Review: Played here on Saturday, 4/30/11 and Sunday, 5/15/11. Definitely an up and coming set of fields. Great people, the fields that are ready are well laid out - I really like the Hoochie Koochie Moonshine Run and the Fort Field, as well as the Rabbit's Nest. Free air all day, and average priced paint. My son and I played from 11am until 5pm on a case of paint, and still had about a half hopper left over. There are plenty of tables to keep your equipment on, lay stuff out, and work on your marker. They also have a covered area with picnic tables in case the weather gets rough, which it can at times. It was a tad muddy in some playing areas and on the trails, but that was due to recent rains in the area - record rainfall in April, so there ya go. The terrain in really nice, with a couple creeks and ponds in and around the playing area, as well as some low hills and gullies. They will service your equipment if needed, and water, soft drinks, hot dogs, burgers, pizza, chips, etc are available at the shack at the main marshalling area - prices are average.

On 5/15/11, my son and daughter went with me to play, but due to earlier rains, there were only a few others that came to play. 2 refs donned equipment, grabbed their markers, and played with us to fill out a couple small teams - that's the kind of service and dedication to the customer that I think makes a difference, and will keep me coming back. Both of my kids (22 and 13) had a blast, as did I, and we can't wait to return.

Some main points as requested by the review format:

Safety - overall good, mask off by ref's 'all clear' only, barrel socks on at all times except during play
Fields - well thought out, good materials used, the fort is really cool and well built, I mostly like natural terrain, which is in abundance on some of the other fields
Hours of Operation - Monday-Friday 10AM to 5PM, Saturday & Sunday 9AM-6PM - I would like to see later hours on the weekends after school lets out for the summer, maybe until 7:30 or 8pm
Some prices:
General Admission is $22, Annual Membership is $100 (covers General Admission for the season and includes $10 off case of paint). Basic rental is $20
Rules are the basic common sense rules found everywhere, and are enforced.
They don't really have a proshop, but they do have a knowledgeable staff that can and will help you if you have problems w/your marker or equipment.
Staff is outgoing, friendly, and helpful. The other players that were there were nice and courteous, and generally followed the rules.

*Something I'd like to see would be an ALL natural mixed terrain - no man-made anything, other than marked boundaries - big team battle woods ball field.
.
All in all, I'll give the place a *9 - once finished, they will most likely get a 9.5 or 10 rating.
Oh, and btw, bring bug spray to put around your sleeves and neck - it is tick season.

*Edited for additional content and overall rating.
