This was the first, and probably last, time I went to Fox Valley Paintball. My first impressions were that it was smaller operation, and I was right. One guy and his sons from what I gather. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad place to go, and really the folks there were quite friendly, but it's not in the best of shape. The "pro shop" (I use that term loosely) is a old dilapidated mobile home. The front steps up to the trailer barely supported the weight of me and my friends. The other gripe I had was the bees! He mentioned that the dry weather prevented him from burning. Hmm, so the solution is to just let if fester in the staging area? There were bees everywhere because of the garbage.
When we wen't out to play, things got a little better. The refs were not much help, but the fields were ok. A few folks were having trouble with there rentals, but they were replaced or fixed as far as I know.
Overall, a fun day, but that had more to do with the people I played with than Fox Valley Paintball. I'll go again if it's someone's bachelor party or something out of my control, but otherwise I'll be steering clear. |
