Arkenstone, Regulator's Outpost - both are superior to Paintball Atlanta
There was a time long long ago that I played exclusively at Paintball Atlanta's field because I didn't know any better. I endured the MANY yellow jacket nests that dotted their fields, endured the throngs of pre-teen kids with angels, and basically played the best I could under those conditions.
Seriously, these folks really need to spend more time walking their fields during the warmer months hunting the bees that plague their fields. There was one month last year or so when I played four weekends in a row. Each time we played, either myself or one of my team mates we're stung by yellow jackets. This one time, a third of our team we're stung from someone kicking a nest in our homebase bunker just off the break.
Ok, so the bees suck but what else? Well, if I was twelve I'd probably love the field because of the huge amounts of kids that play here but if you are 25+ I'd suggest you play elsewhere. Nothing is as annoying as having 5 or 6 children bunched up behind one dogwood and not laying any support fire. Or advancing... I can only assume that so many kids play here due to the fact that its right in suburbia soccer-mom land.
So what's good about this field? Well for one thing the Blackhearts play here and they are a stand up scenario team. Another good thing is that there is a decent amount of land here and the Mounds field is probably one of my favorite fields in Georgia. There's just something about grassy hills in the open sunlight...
But then I found Arkenstone and I haven't been back to Paintball Atlanta since.
