SC Village is insanely overhyped. It suffers from the Disneyland Effect - overpriced, and just too large. The pretty fields are fun to play maybe once, but the refs do such a tremendous job of wasting time (your money) and are the slowest at getting games started that I have ever seen. Too many people play also, making games not as fun.
All in all, don't get taken in by its "revered status"; SC village is over-hyped and will leave you walking away wishing you'd spent your money elsewhere for a better experience.
In all fairness, I'm not much of a speedballer yet (no jersey and I have a tippmann; which sucks at speedball). I plan on getting into speedball though, and when I do I'll check SC out; the speedball is supposed to be pretty good. From a rec viewpoint, if you go on a day when there aren't a lot of people, go for it since the courses are rad. Other than that, it's not any fun to pay to stand around all day.| Last edited on Sunday, February 8th, 2004 at 1:21 pm PST |
