Review: I'll be completly honest the very first time I went there I swore that I'd never go back. Now there are no fields in Fort wayne unless you count splat ya. I started to go just for the big games and now I'll go any chance I get. Tony and Kathy are very nice people. The field is a great woods course and they are constantly trying to improve the field. They really do go that extra mile for the players. My hpa tank broke and they let me borrow one of there own personal tanks! No field will ever be perfect, but as far as games, refs, staff, and dedication to the players you won't find many others like this field.

Now if you haven't visited since last year, they did increase the price. A whole $12 to get in if you have HPA, it's still $10 if you use co2. It's still all day air, and they do sell snacks and pop. I really respect Tony and Kathy for putting the players first. The only reason that this field is getting a 9 is that they are improving the field and no field is perfect.

There on their website... (but thats the store where every one has to meet any ways)
Review: THE STORE

There store is very nice they have high and low end guns for all levels of players. they Have custom jerseys for there field and stuff which was sweet!
They have a very wide selection of paintballs to choose from. great prices on all of their paint was my favorite part of the store!

THE FIELD

The field was pretty cool. They dont have directions to the field on their site but you have to go to their store to sign in to play which is only a couple blocks away. they have a 3-5 man speedball course right at the top of the drive. they have a woods ball course off to the left, a castle to the right, and just past the castle is a swamp which was like speedball in a woods.

OTHER GOOD STUFF

Their prices were great on paint. like $40 for a case of rainbow stuff which was basically seconds mixed together (friend got some and they shoot great!)
Then it was like $60 for their most expensive stuff like evil and marbalizer. It was also a BYOP park.
The field fee was only $10 which gave you all day air (CO2/HPA).
Their owners and workers are all very nice! I was comming from ohio to play and emailed back and forth with the owners and they were very helpfull and nice!
The regulars that play/ref are great guys, they like messing around inbetween games and picking on the smaller worker guys. (which was very funny)

SOME BAD STUFF
There are some noobs that play there which are fun to light up but they mainly played woods ball while the speedballers (me) played on the inflatafield. when they had every one play the swamp and a game of woods ball the noobs got lit up like fire-flys and dont know how to get off a field when there out.

Great field they make you crono at the begining of the day and stand there and watch you crono which is mainly for safty reasons. but they like to have a good time and play along with you.

o and there are some Semi-Pro players that come there and play speedball. which is a great way to practice against something good!

Review: As far as outdoor fields go, this outfit is run very well. The owners are very helpful, the prices are good, and for the most part, the crowd is very even tempered and gets along. Safety is a big deal here. No matter how many times you go, you still attend the safety briefing and chrono...no exceptions. Lots of different play environments, with capture the flag, castle to castle, attack the castle, the swamp, ambush and a speedball course available. The terrain in the woods is challenging, but there is plenty of cover..even for a big moose like me. The swamp is a very different playing environment. Trees but not a lot of undergrowth. The rest of the areas have lots of tall grass..nice for hiding and sneaking up on people in. The people are what makes this field what it is. No place is perfect, but they do more every year....so check it out already

Review: Apocalypse is a great place to go to to have a great time. I have been to other paintball places (which I won't name here cause I don't want to bash other fields) and I think this one blows them all out of the water. With friendly staff and players, help is not in short supply here. Some people say that there is trash all over, and that there are many "dangers" here, but they would say otherwise if they had been out there lately. Tony and Kathy have done a lot to this field just since I have started playing here, and I know of many more improvements to come.
One thing for certain is that a person's fun and safety is their first priority. Before you leave the field, they try and make sure that you have had a good time, and actually take peoples comments and suggestions to heart. It's amazing how someone can come on here and bash this field, it's owners, and it's players without hesitation. If you give this field a chance, you will see the improvements that they have and WILL BE making. Make sure to check out their schedule, as they are constantly having special games with extra prizes and fun for all that play. Out of 10 I would give this place a 9. (Only leaving out the extra one, because there isn't a field out there that is 100% perfect, and I am not going to try to claim that this one is. Sure there may be some minor flaws, but What I think is a flaw could be called awesome by someone else. Give this place a shot..... Or get shot..... it's up to you! LOL

Review: Since the type of paintball you play is personal preference, let me start by saying I am a woodsballer through and through. For this reason I love Apocalypse and their extensive woods for paintballing. The refs, owners, and other players were all helpful with advice and strategy for a newcomer like myself. Some of the players can be cocky but you will have that anywhere you find testosterone. They have incorporated two castles, many bunkers, and plenty of trees to hide behind into their woodsball field. They usually only play three or so scenarios with their woodsball games but they are always fun and exciting. Safety is definitely not taken lightly here. There is a safety briefing before the day starts every Sunday. No matter how many times you have been there, you are required to listen in. Barrel plugs are a must whenever you are not playing. Gun velocity has to be under 300 p.s.i. whichs seems to be the standard. No shooting someone under 7 feet away in the woods. They are kinda lacking in the facilities department, with a trailer for the equipment and a port-a-potty, but being out in a field / woods that is understandable. They have very well priced paintballs, equipment rental fees, field fees, technical or fixing fees, snacks and drinks. This is one of the only fields I know of that you can bring your own paint. Organization could be a bit better at times but overall I am happy with this field.

Adventure Zone- Coldwater, MI
Directions
to the Field:
From I-69 South, take the 20 Exit (East), turn left on West Street, which is just before the circle. The building is on the left, and it is white. Their fields are off site, but they will tell you how to get to them.
Review: Safety- Pretty good, they were reasonably strict and we had a few people who didnt know much about the guns safety and barrel sleeves etc. They were fairly careful with everything.

Fields- Woodsball was pretty good. Lots of bunkers, 2 bases with the flags, a little small but keeps it from being too slow. Some really nice bunkers, some smaller, lots of trees of varying size, and quite a bit of bush/shrub cover. Very hilly, so make sure you wear good tight fitting shoes.
Speedball- not really a speedball course, more of a hyperball. Has a mix of air bunkers, wood box cover, cement barricades and corrugated pvc. I didnt play much on this field , as it is in full sun and it was 95* today. The field seems kinda small, and I liked Coldwater better. Adventure Zone only has the one field, but it is all air bunks, and provides a lot of cover, but is a little more expensive since you have to use field paint.

Hours- I had bad experience with their hours, but that was b/c I didnt have a schedule. Closed monday, open play on sunday 12~4. Proshop in downtown Angola is open Tues-Fri 11-6 and 10-3 on Saturday, Sunday before matches, 10-12 at the shop.

Prices- Very good, 10 dollars admission including all day air. You can byop, but their paint is fairly well priced $10/500 or anywhere from $40-55/2000. They had a cooler with pop, water, gatorade etc, which were all very well priced.

Rules- Pretty standard, surrenders if close, no shooting within aobut ~7 ft.

Services- Some of the usual players were cocky and annoying, but everyone affiliated with the field was nice, Cathy especially. Tony, her husband, fixes guns too, flat fee of 10 bucks plus parts. We had him fix my friends gun and did a pretty good job.

Proshop- Quite good. Tanks, hoppers, harnesses, pretty much anything, including markers and probably custom orders if you need. Just ask them for specifics.

Staff- Good, they know what they are talking about, and have been in business for 10 years now.

Refs- we had too many refs, ~10-12 players and like 8 refs. That was probably b/c we didnt have many people compared to what they usually get though. They werent afraid to do paintchecks, and did pretty well to stay out of the way. Good at letting people know you're out so you dont get spammed on.

Players- some were very cool, some of the better players with autocockers were just plain things Im not supposed to put on this site. That pretty much says it.

Facilities- Port-a-potty, not a bad one, but a pavilion or something wouldnt hurt. Overall, kinda hot, but we went on a scorching day. You'll get by.

Food- None offered as far as I know.

Lots. Paintball heat is by far the best place i have ever played. They have an xball field from tampa that is amazing to play on.
Review: Tournament:
I also attended a 3 man open tourny at apocalypse. It was lots of fun for me as well as the rest of my team. We placed 3rd. However, our fun was somewhat ruined by people that thought we were cheating. The end of one game, when we beat BBK, my player started to turn off his gun. HE DID NOT TURN IT OFF THOUGH. This was on accident. All the fields i have ever played at required us to turn our guns off before exiting and this is what he was about to do. A player from BBK(still upset from his team getting whooped) yelled outloud that my player was turning his gun off. However he didn't. I think he was just mad because we beat them. To me he was just acting like we were trying to get away with stuff like ramping. They checked my players gun after the game and found that it did not bounce at all or ramp. Every single person on my team has a stock board. An impulse with vision, a shocker with vision, and a proto with the stock board(my gun). I have no doubt that almost every team thought we cheated because we went undefeated in the prelims. The whole point of me saying this is because there was no cheating that went on during the day and that refs shouldnt let a team be bashed by other teams. Merely accidents or mishaps. Sorry that we beat you even though we have almost no tourny expirience and were kind of the underdog in the tourny. Anything that happend that you thought was cheating, wasn't. I know my team and how they play. If any of them were cheating i would have known and consulted them. We were not favored in anyway by the spectators or any of the other teams.

The field: The field set up wasn't completely bad but could use some work. The was a large A in the middle, probably for apocalypse. The field wasn't all that poorly set up but there was some random wood pyramid shaped bunkers. The ground was pretty much just dirt and had mass amounts of paintballs(one game i was kneeling in an area where someone spilled at least a halfa pod) the refs took note of this and i was not called out. The zipper thingy was sad. It was half hyperball, half airball and covered with rocks. I think that if there was more airball bunkers in place of the plastic and wood ones it would be pretty good. My biggest complaint is that its on a hill. I hope that you found my post usefull!

Review: We recently played a 3-man open tourney there. I was happy about the field set up and the people there are nice and all but the one thing this management needs to work on is penalizing teams and sticking to the rules. We had a kid turn his gun on and off during games several times in a row. We were getting called on out on splater. We also sat and watch a kid get hit off the break in the tank and the ref was in clear view and he was not called out. I mean i know people make mistakes but if the rules dont apply to everyone then y have them. I mean if we put our time and money at a place it isnt a hard thing to have to follow the rules and make things fair for everyone. We will never attend another tourney at this field im sure the rec ball is fun there though.

Review: This Field is one of the best i have been too with a Sub Air Field. There Woods Ball Field is one of the BEST i have Been too. Price is Very good with $10 for all day play and you get free CO2 or comp air. Great Deal. you can Bring your own paint too. They have a very good proshop. prices are desent on some things. could be a little better but how is any one going to make money that way? They stock a Lot of guns for the size of shop it really is. I would rate this place a 8.5 out of 10.

Review: I started out playing here alot, good recball field, easy tourneys to win, but you feel like a douche winning them cuz theres no competition. dominion kids came and cleaned house...but the prizes suck..so once again...pointless. CTS and ICC suck too though, so youre kinda screwed on tournaments in indiana, unless its a cash bash somewhere...

I remember playing team jim and wild cards...who would go to a little tournament like that and play rookie? oh well....they were never really good, thats why there's no need to pay attention to what they say.

they do have faster guns now, and a different name...new gangster lifestyle..i can understand. but you still dont have shizzle on dominion kids...oldschool or new..

apocalypse is a good rec field, if they got an airball i might go out there and mess around...otherwise, go where the competition is at.
