Review: I went to this field for my first time playing paintball and didn't know what to expect. We got there and rented our equipment ($10) got all day air ($10) and brought our own paint. We played on 2 of their fields (urban and capture the flag) and had a blast. After 2 or 3 rounds we would exit the field and check our gear, reload, get air. The rounds lasted from 5 - 10 min each with the 8 people that were there. The referee also manned the pro shop in between the games and was very knowledgeable. I had a problem with my marker and he showed me how to fix it and we were off again. I hated it when I had to leave and would definitely go back.

The other people who showed up, had at least $500 invested in paintball gear and were pretty intimidating but they were split up by the referee to make fair teams. So don't feel like you and your newbie friends are are going to be pummeled like we thought.

They had everything that we needed and more. The paint that the pro shop had was cheaper than the stuff I bought from WalMart. 2000 balls = $35 (TPS)... Walmart was $38. The pro shop also had candy and drinks. Air was $10 all day or .37 an oz.

I can't wait for the D-Day reenactment which has several boats with drop down fronts (made out of plywood) and a beach with fortifications at the top of a berm. They were saying that they get 100 people on each side and go at it. Too bad it only happens once a year.

Danger zone at FT.lewis. DZ is better for woodsball, but far, far inferior for Speedball.
Review: I've been to this feild three-four times in the past ten months, and have had nothing but good experences. Staff is always friendly, and the prices ain't bad. Paint is usually good, and the air fills are pretty much self-serve, but they're idiot proofed, so all is good.

The feild is pretty heavily geared towards speedball and tourny ballers, but they have a very nice D-Day field. It gets pretty old pretty quick, but it is there. They also run fairly large scenario D-Day games every six or so months, including smoke, but the player cap means it's a regional-type game, not much bigger. no prob.

They're big on saftey, With the usual breifs, and the standard barrel-plug in, mask down- deal.

I figure they rate about a 9 out of 10- good, not perfect, but bloody good either way. Personally, i'd like to see more woodsball fields there, but other than that, man, it's a damned good field.

EDIT- 2/14/08- Seems that their store in olympia is closed. It's been shut down for near about a week now...

TPS is the only field for 150 miles
Review: I began playing at TPS about a year ago, and have enjoyed every minute of it. Everytime I play, I love the field, and the sport itself even more.

First up: These guys mean business. Safety is priority number one. With an influx of newcomers to the sport, TPS wants to make sure that no one is scared away by reckless and unsafe behavior. Growth and recognition is the only thing that is going to make this sport become more mainstream, and TPS aims to do that one customer at a time, by being safe and friendly.

The staff is superb. The referees are friendly and are always willing to help out newcomers and make sure everyone is having a good time. TPS itself sponsor several tourney teams, and they are often seen at the field, lending a hand, playing, and giving advice to newbies.

The on-site proshop is very nice. They have practically everything you'd need to get started in paintball, right then and there, and it's all decently priced. Paint itself may be a tad expensive, with Rec-Grade selling for about $45, going up from there for higher grades. But it's reasonable.

The field itself is nicely done, with 3 fields of play, including a SupAirball field, and Tire field (Woodsball-ish), and the enormous D-Day field, complete with trenches, tank barriers, landing craft and German bunkers. And they are constantly expanding as well. Last I was told, they're going to be revamping their D-Day field to include a smaller scale Berlin, complete with tightly-packed city streets. That will make scenario games much more interesting, forcing Allies into a mad dash up the beachhead, and into some CQC situations in the mock-Berlin behind the sea-wall.

TPS sanctions away matches too. Most recently, they sanctioned the Rutledge Cornmaze game, which was a BLAST! It had all the perks of the TPS field, as well as the freshness of ther cornmaze itself.

On-site, they have benches, work tables, ample parking, restrooms, running water, electricity, some snacks (But some excellent resturants down the highway), and high netting to protect spectators from stray paintballs.

All in all, TPS is a Grade-A field, which is why I have claimed it as my home field.

Review: This was the first field I went to and will be the only one I go to. The Staff are really nice. The Refs keep a good eye on the players when they are playing. Safety is number one! They make it VERY clear to be safe. The hours: The field opens at 10:00 and closes at dusk. You can go early and watch the team practice which is pretty cool. The pro shop is not all that big but there is a lot of stuff in there! Everything is a bit overpriced though...
Paint costs $40-80$ for a case. There is not much food there I.E. just some snaky kinda food. But there is resturants a mile away.

I would recammed checking out this field.

Review: When I came home on leave my nephews mentioned to me that there will be a fun event after Christmas day to play. I must have driven past there several times and never thought of going but I am glad that I have and look forward to going again when I come home. The place was a little tricky at first to find, and you get the feeling like you must of went the wrong way. Once you get to the area, it has plenty of parking space and it wasn't trashy there like other places.

I had a comment on the barrel condoms, and yes safety is paramount and you can't take that stuff lightly. We were dumb enough and forgot to bring them and they help us on getting some and we were on our way. Also I really liked that they had everything there to offer, paintballs supplies to air. I enjoyed that everybody had the integrity while playing and still had a fun time. Its probably better since I been there last but there was a lack organization, the games were very simple. I can probably blame my nephew for this one, but I was under the impression that if you either shoot Santa or his reindeer you get a prize. I shot Santa but his reindeer got me and the only thing I got was bragging rights with myself, HA HA oh well.

I give this place an 8 out of 10 just for the sole reason because it was the first place I have gone to in the area. The hours, only if it were an all day thing. At the time the place had nothing to offer, something that they only have that is. From all the places its getting kind of repetitive. Over all this place has potential and I can't wait when I go on leave to see what this place has improved.

Review: TPS is the reason I started playing paintball, my son and I started going out there and we got hooked mainly do to the good treatment we got there. We asked questions about, markers, gear, strategy ,and got good input. They took the time to show us and explain to us many factors about paintball, the guys out there are vary serious about the sport and safety is the number 1 rule. Alot of competitive play as well as good ole family rec ball can be found here, the refs are cool and helpful. The huge D-Day field is impressive. All around fun place to play.

Review: I have played at this field a couple of times, and I have also done a few other games not at this field, but hosted on location by the field owner with their refs and everything. I first played there a year or so ago, to play a 3-man beginner tournament, we took pretty much third or fourth from last, but had a great time. the refs were good, they made sure everybody chronoed all the time, the paint was good, but a little bit overpriced, but hey, that can be expected from a field/store with no local competition. in august I think, I went and did the d-day scenario game and that was also pretty fun. it was a new field so they had to work out a few kinks as they went along, but it worked out. I also went to a game hosted by tps(the cornmaze) with a couple friends, and it was great, you don't get to play paintball in a cornmaze very often. overall a great field setup run by some great people, who definitely know what they're doing.

Review: TPS is by far the best field in the immediate area. I live in Olympia and have been going to TPS fields for the better part of 7 years now and i wouldnt go anywhere else (tourneys are different). the friendly people and experienced refs / gun techs are always available to help should you require it. most of the people that have been going there for a long time are also very willing to help you with any problems you might have.

for my money, its the best field near olympia.

Review: Me and two of my buddies show up to this field. Everything looks awsome , but when we were gettin ready one of the guys started being a-holes to us, threating to kick us off the field because my buddy didn't have a barrel plug in. This is understandable, but my buddy didn't have his air on or his hopper attached to the gun. Well the guy kept going off about if he sees any of us do this again he'll kick us out and send us home.

So we say forget this place and decide to buy paint and go to a different field, well it turns out i payed $70 for paint that is old and dimpled up, it wouldn't even shoot right.

I'm never going back to this field because they don't know how to treat customers with respect and i'll make sure none of my friends waste their money at their field or shops. I mean with their customer service its no wounder 2 of their 3 shops have shut down

Anyways, this field gets a 1 and loses my business

Review: I have used this field many times.. This field and the staff running it are great. They play a variety of games and keep the action rolling.. They have also helped me several times with malfunctions with my marker. I am still pretty new..LOL I have been to several other fields, where you play for 20 minutes and sit down for an hour.. This is definatly not the case here. The cost is minimal. The only thing that could make this field any better is if they where open later. Keep up the good work.
