Ozark Paintball, Underground in Joplin (haven't played at), Paintball Ridge in Joplin.
Directions to the Field:
Just off Higway 44 East take exit 80 A, go down Glenstone until you get to a antique store with lots of signs on your left, turn there and follow the road.
Proshop is pretty nice, even had some quality airsoft stuff in the corner that reminded me of the old airsofting days. Fair prices on about everything, staff more than happy to help you pick out the equipment you need. Staff is pretty helpful if you have tournament questions or otherwise and the refs seemed fair overall the time I've played there. Can't really say about the players, I went to the so-called Rookie tourney and March and out of the 16 teams about 3 (including ours) were actually rooks to speedball. Most other teams were cocky and unsportsmanlike, especially one club who I won't mention specifically. Anybody that was there at the tourney knows who I'm talking about. Wasn't crazy about the speedball field setup, pretty cut and dry. Same setup on both sides basically, flow of the game not really thought out. The doritos on the North side are nothing but a deathtrap and you can fire on about anywhere from the Snake. Would be a great field if they would consider bunker rearrangement. Didn't play on the woodsball field but it looked rather small for any extended woodsball conflicts. Overall I really liked the shop and will buy there again if I need equipment, but returning to play is questionable, not a bad field, just not my favorite. My team members and I are located in Bolivar so location makes it the closest default field to play on.

The rental equipment my friends used seemed to be alright. The prices are about normal, 55$ for 2000 balls, 4$ for 20oz. CO2. The refs knew definitely what they were doing and were very approachable. The air ball field has a normal size and the setup is good, we had a blast there. The woodsball fields need clean-up from the frost damage, way to much branches laying around. The mounds field was fun to play, good setup there. The fields are also quite small for woodsball.
Overall a good location worth checking out.
I played in the beginners tourney March 25. Most of the teams there did not appear as if they were beginners. Refs did a good job staying consistent on the rules the whole day. The rest of the employees are also very helpful. Most of the other teams were very nice and offered tips on improving your game.
I do not recommend their beginner tourneys for true beginners. Too many other teams out there scamming the system
The field also seemed small. The woodsball field is extremely small for woodsball, it is about the same size as the speedball field.

Im not goin to comment about the fields. I played at their old location and i had a blast. The Staff Is Very Very Helpfull. Matt and Tim.Steve isnt really commited to selling anything. He is pretty much there to accept money.Matt is good about helpin you out with deals. 5 or 10 bux off here and there.Tim is really good with guns, hoppers and so on. Good advice as far as products go I give it a 10, because the service is good and just a good enviorment.
They Really shouldn't have steve in there. Just what i think
I have played at Paint Games Plus in Springfield and I liked the field better. They had an indoor and outdoor and both were good sized.
Springfield Paintball is a good field to go to if you are just messin around with friends I think. There are two fields and both are not that big. There is one speedball course which "can be" set up different ways but I don't think is. There is a snake thing and alot of dorritos. The other field is a woodsy one but is about the same size as the other one. It has 4 "huts", two on other side and some big yarn wheel things in it. There is a lot of hanging brush so you can't just shoot straight across the field, which forces you to think more strategicly. Both of the fields have PILES of paintballs all over. The ref that we had asked us if we had played befor and we said yes, and that was it. The ref gave us no direction or anything before we started. When I went to go test my velocity on my gun, keep in mind it was one of their rental guns, it read 160. When I went up to the ref to turn it up he said, "oh...I don't know how to turn those guns up...well it should go up while your playing"....WTF? How is it going to go up while I'm playing without manually turning it up? During the game, I shot my friend 4 times and none of them broke. I had to get 10 ft apart from him for it to break! But, whatever. Overall, I had fun playing and now I am thinking about getting into the sport. That is probably becuase I was playing with my friends and paintball is awesome to begin with but who knows. I will say that it was very "laid-back", we were the only customers, and that I liked. Because I have only played at 2 fields, it's hard to rate this one, so allow some leway with your own compared to mine.

PGP, Ozark PB/hayswings, Porkchop hill, Bailey battlefield
if you can't tell from the other posts there are some hard feelings between Springfield PB and PGP so keep that in mind as you read the posts of others and mine as well. I am also posting a PGP review.
employees: I find Matt, Vader and one other (really bad with names) employee to be very helpfull and nice to talk with. Steve can be nice but rubs me the wrong way fairly often, he tries to be helpful but often admitts he really doesn't follow PB anymore and doesn't keep up with pb gear and such. One of the girls that works in the shop (matts sister?) can be fairly rude and I really haven't had any good experiances talking to her.
refs: The refs are a bit disappointing at springfield. There has been an improvement since they moved but I still don't think they are even to the point of being average refs. I have made cracks about the refs when they were at the old location. Things like "well they need one ref to have legs that can move them from point A to point B, and another ref to remind the first one that they can use those legs to do so" (getting a paint check was fairly hard). I have seen the team stacking as mentioned by others and would agree that it did happen a lot but it seems to be getting better with the new location. Never played a tourny with their refs so I can't comment
store: decent selection, used guns for sale about equal to PGP
fields: small air ball field (always dirty), small woods field.
paint: the newest batch looks really good and I am happy with it. In the past I really haven't been happy with kick'n.
This last guy must have been the guy they threw out for cursing and over shooting newbies, because Springfield Paintball is a great place to play. Their staff is much nicer than the staff at PGP. The guys at PGP laughed at me after one of the Team Karnage guys shot me 11 times in the back. Matt, Steve, Tim, and Vader are always willing to help me with any questions I have. Their airball field is great, but I like to play their woods field. They have a few little huts on it and some big spools. If you dont know where to play in springfield try Springfield Paintball and then try PGP. I did and I play more at Springfield Paintball now.

Paint Games Plus is SOOO much better. With high quality paint at a lower price.
This field really stinks. It's filled with cheaters and cheap bunkers. Refs play favorites and are completely unfair. They match skill against beginner. All the players cheat. They wipe every shot. The refs will see it and wipe it for them sometimes. Then they won't call it. Why do you have to have so many damn words? Why won't it let me just post the review with havin to type so much? This field is flat stupid. I really don't suggest going there.
BLodjett(but not as good as here) Patterson(Scenario game)
THis place is GREAT!!!!! Matt,Vader, everybody is helpfull! THe playing enviroment is really kewl. THe woods is awsome and so is the air ball field, wether ur a beginer or experienced this place is GREAT!!!! ANd the pro shop is the best around
