I strongly advise NO_ONE play at this field!
Reasons being
-The field layout is okay....but desperately needs to be remodeled. The bunkers are not mirrored properly, they're in dire need of repair, and playing on three different fields all at once can become extremely annoying. Plus, I find it hypocritical for them to say that safety's a number 1 priority when half the fields not even netted off and ruts run ramped over the ground.
-The Paint is only marginally better than that you buy at Academy or Wal-Mart.(thats truly saying something people)
-As for safety,You can count on your child coming home "physically" in one piece. The safety rules are strictly enforced. So much you lift your mask a single time you revoke all playing privileges. The word "warning" doesn't seem to exist in the owners vocabulary. As for you child coming home emotionally in one piece, don't count on it. Not because the sport a violent and angry, Quite the contrary I've found it to be one of the best team and leadership building sports out there. Its just owners..which I'll address why a little later
-Some of the reff-ing staff tends to be lazy and inattentive at times, and only seem to do their job properly when Ricky(the owner) is out making fun of the new, young players.
-Probably the only good thing about this field are the markers(paintball guns) for sell. Ricky will usually give you a good deal(go to Ricky and not Judy!) on one, and teach you everything you need to know about it. The warranty he sells with it is nearly unbeatable . Which is a very good! If the marker you've purchased from him malfunctions(without you tampering with it) he'll generally fix it with minimum fuss. Although, god forbid if you ask him to fix a foreign marker.Yes, he WILL fix it for you, he'll just charge you a exuberant amount for the labor and brag about how you should of bought from him and make fun of you for not being competent enough to fix it yourself.
- Finally, by far the worst thing about this field are the owners! Ricky is somewhat two sided. It all depends on what mood you catch him in. Good mood= one off the nicest people you've ever met(rare mood) Bad mood= A grumpy, know it all that will make fun of and put you down at a moments notice. When he's reffing count all fun to be sapped from the game, and if he's playing count on being humiliated in from of your friends after he shoots you. (Note: If he does shoot you from a illegal range, puts you down, or just plane cheats. Do not protest, talk back, or make it clear that he was cheating. The only thing you'll succeed in doing is hurting his ego and send him off on a tangent about how he's the owner and it's HIS field/rules)
The worst of the owners would have to be Judy. I'm not going to go into specific details of why she's the worst. Just meet the woman and find out! The only advice I will give though. If Ricky acts like jerk to you, or you find something unfair, or if ANYTHINGS not right, DO NOT voice your opinion about it within ear shot of her. Unless you prefer being called a whinny liar and having everyone around you be informed how much of a whinny liar you are.
The bad thing is I hate saying this about Paintcheck. It "used" to be one of the best fields in LA. The field layout was superb, the paint was amazing, the owners and reffs did their job properly, and the environment was very caring and peacefully. My best guess is the owners stopped caring about the people. So, I strongly advise you scratch paintcheck off your list of fields and go somewhere else.
Sorry guys, just telling the truth |

DON'T BRING KIDS UNDER 15 TO THIS FIELD IF YOU WANT THEM TO HAVE FUN!
There have been several reviews of this business and most are negative regarding their service. My experience during the last 3 or 4 visits to Paint Check in Zachary is that my kids leave feeling humiliated and embarrassed. The owner's son, Ricky, who is in his early 20's referees the players. It begins okay but soon he begins calling the kids names like retarded, loser, idiots, whiny baby, etc. . "you get the picture", this guy doesn't like to deal with kids! When we are called by our kids to come pick them up, they are upset and crying because of the way they are treated by this young man. When my wife or I complain to the older lady at the front desk, she denies that Ricky would ever say such words to kids and goes so far to begin calling us liar's. She becomes so defensive and rude that there is no way to deal with her or any of the owners in a civil manner. Your kids will be intimidated by Ricky and the lady at the front desk every time they play here, as this is our experience, and today will be the last time we come here. Instead of an environment that should encourage sportsmanship and fun, you or your child should prepare for a humiliating experience at Paint Check of Zachary. This business does not represent the typical Zachary Hospitality. |

Honestly i cant tell u when the last time i played there was but the field isnt that great. When i am playing just for fun i want some trees and bushes to give me a little cover while moving from bunker to bunker but i cant find such comfort at paint check wide open wit short bunkers all over and there 1 field has the same number of of game types and splats but it is the same size as any 1 of the fields at splats so basically it is a up close and personal type game unless you are playing all fields comebined plus if u are not playing with the whole field you can take out half the other team at start. The manager was really creepy and would not leave us alone about rules. The only plus was the refs when we were not on the field. They are all goofing off and are fun to be around until you get on the field. Once on the field it doesnt matter if u are stoping your mask from falling off if they c u touch it you get ejected for the field without refund. I would not suggest anybody to go there. The only plus is the refs while not on the field and that is y i gave it such a high ratting |

this field is horrible! people there are total jerks about everything. the only 2 things that they do remotely right at this field is keep you safe and fix your gun. Ricky (field gunsmith/ref/jacka@#) rips you off for everything he does for you, even the sh!tty paint he tries to sell you, and then will blast you and your equipment, bragging that it is broken and he is the only man in the world who can possibly fix your apparently mangled gun- just because he is the only true certified gunsmith around. Really, the only cool thing that ever happens here is that the rest of team granite show up (ricky's team) and takes his place; and are actually nice to players for once...
dont go to this field, please- for your own good... go into clinton, la, to Campbellots or to shreveport to Off Limits paintball
just tellin the truth...

This field is a good playing field. Has a airball area and then a castle area. The people are very nice but have very strict rules. If you touch your mask your out and no refunds. There is an awesome burger place across the street to eat lunch and is fantastic. For all day air refills 1 case of paintballs and field fee about 90$ Refs are strict and sometimes lazy. |

Paint check is a fun yet slightly overpriced paintball field. I went with my brother this past weekend, and it was a lot of fun. You have to buy your own paint there. Before going to Paint Check, I had only broken 1 ball in a year and a half, and i broke 2 of paintchecks ball fairly quickly. They fill up co2 and air, and rent out Ions and 98 customs. The reffing is decent with some bad calls from time to time. I like the experience, and am going back for another visit with some friends this weekend. |

This field would win the worst field in the world award. I mean its pretty hard to make paintball not fun. The reffing was terrible, (there was probably only one good ref on the whole staff), the lady in the pro shop was not nice to any one there except for the workers and anyone who she already knew. The paint they use is horrible. It will shop in any high end gun we used. They blamed it on the weather because they didn't store it right. It was still their fault. Please don't go to this field, its worth the drive to go any where else.
P.S. Any one who wrote a good review about this field probably works their.
Main complaints= refs and paint and their tournaments are horrible
This field got a one because that was the lowest the ratings could go it should actually be in the negatives. (((((((((FPC)))))))))) try to figure out what this stands for PC=paintcheck |

I've been there a couple of times and it's alright. The owner is nice, and Ms. Trudy is awesome. The refs really didn't know how to make the teams fair, and the "5-man" field is alittle too small. If you're just starting out, it's great only because there's a 20 ft no bunkering rule. The store is pricey but i guess the service is ok. The field setup is not my favorite, but i love the bathroom.

For my experience, Paintcheck was alright. The owner was sort of a tight ass about stuff and wasn't fun to be around. One of the refs would mess with everyone about everything(I think his name was John John). The field was nice though I would rather have seperate fields than one big one.
Paintcheck didn't stack up to my expectations, though I did have a fun day of paintballing. The refs also stacked the teams, putting most of the more experienced and tourney players on one team.
I would suggest Paintcheck to someone just starting out, but not someone looking for a permanent field. |
