Rankin Field is by far the best field around the Tulare,Porterville, and Lemoore area. Their airball field is on thick, soft, green grass, that has the best upkeep of all the fields in the area. They have a Empire sup' air ball field, and they also have a hyperball/lego field. Theyre open every saturday and sunday form 10-4, and the prices are reasonable, $10 for admission, and $7 for all day air, and they also sell paint. They dont have a proshop at the field, but most of guys there know a lot about guns and can usually help you out. They have a Ref out there every weekend, and if they dont, a member from their novice team is always supervising the games. They have brand new bathrooms that are very clean, and there is a snack bar at the shooting range right next door. This is a great field to play at, no matter what level of paintball you play. Its a fun and safe enviroment to play the sport of paintball. |

Rankin Field has been re-opened by Tulare Extreme Paintball. The field consists of one large Hyperball field and one Airball field. They have two grass fields which they rotate the airball field on to preserve the playing surface. The grass is new and thick, it is the best playing surface in the Tulare, Porterville, Lemoore area. They have used NPPL field designs when setting up the fields, and change the field every other week. There is a large staging area and they have co2 and 4500 lb. compressed air. Entry is $10, all day air is $7, they have affordable paint, and rentals are available. The reffing is good and the staff is helpful. The hyperball field is very large, the size of two airball fields, however that playing surface is mostly dirt. The only drawback to this location is that there is no pro shop on the premises, the staff bring out all of the supplies needed, but if you wanted to buy some gloves or a barrel or anything like that you would have to go into town. Also the field would benefit from another airball field, which I believe they have planned for the future. All in all this is the best playing field in the area. |

Well to start off i give cxp a 9 the only thing wrong with this field is the sand...it gets all in ur gun but other then that it is the best place to play. Everyone there is nice and very helpful. They have the best prices around u can get a case of paint for as low as $29.00 and it is decent paint. It cost u $10.00 to get in and $7.00 for all day air co2 or compressed. They fill up 2 4500 psi. They have 2 great air ball fields a 7 man and a X ball field. The woods ball and the rec with the huge tower u can climb. There is limited cheating and all the players are fair. All and all this is the best field and i have to give it up 2 them for making such a great field u should check it out if u havn't already! |

rankin field will be opening hopefully by the end of june, due to delays, we had to rip out all of the poles and basically start from the ground up. we will be having 1 scenario field, with alot of towers sandbags and prolly pieces from the old hyperball field set up. then we are also going to have 2 seven man air ball fields set up as well, but they wont be set up until the grass is fully grown. when we accomplish finishing up the fields, IT WILL BE THE BEST FIELD AROUND THE CENTRAL VALLEY. |

Rankin was shut down in the beginning of 2005 because of the prices and other things. Team TKO did own the feild but now Tulare Extreme Paintball has bought it and is starting to build it up from the ground up. The Tulare Extreme staff have Knowledge about paintball and have many great Ideas. We will be putting in either 2 air ball fields, a hyperball field and a scenario field, or just airball and scenario. The goal is to create a great place for people to come and have fun and also to try to create a tournament Ready field. All in all this field is going to be turned into the best field around.
This is the real deal: We will be the BEST! |

None as worst as this one in history |

This field is the worst field ever considering safety. There are NO REFS whatsoever and NO CHRONO inforcing. the owner of the field is so worried about SAFETY that when he walked onto on of the field (with no mask) told us to barrel plug are guns when he should have just put a mask on instead of taking the risk of getting himeself shot in the eye. i told him why in he dont think of safety and put a mask on and he told me not to talk back and barrel plug my gun, i got really mad when he told me this because just because hes the owner why should him and other so called ''pros'' get special privelages while the "REC'' dont get any. Some guys are really cool there while most others run there mouth. Another thing They refilled one tank of mine and didnt have any more air left so like 12 guys got all day co2 for nothing. they reassured them they were getting no co2 tanxs never happend yet they had from 12.00 clock to 4.00 to get more tanxs. x-ball field was great only reason why i am giving this field a 3 and also because of some of the funny guys that were at the 1 time fill station because they were only able to fill ure tanxs once, This fields rating went down because the poor sport lazy owner. PLAYERS- the players were really nice except some which yelled at others played when accidents occured.(ACCIDENTS)
PRICES-there prices are extremely great 20oz-$4 $3 for 12oz there practice paint is also really good $40 for 2000 and they are really good ball unlike wal-mart paint(wild streak) all day air for compressed air and co2 is $10 bucks. $10 bucks to get in.
SERVICE- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
They told us that they were gonna try to get the airball field up and running and guess what happend nothing. supposobely the field closes at 4:00. at around 2:00 o' clock they put away the x-ball field deflated the 2nd airball field there are 2 but they never got the one they were supposed to put up, anywayz there was only 1 field left the plastic tubes which is dum because the netting isnt strong so it fly's in ure face when ure playing which is uncalled for . trying to have a good game and i got shot trying to hold the netting down(funny). The tube field has weeds and rocks everywhere which cut up my hands and bruised my knees all up because of the rocks.
All in All field is horrible wish this doesnt happen to me and is only a 1 time thing, I am never going back EVER instead i will just stay at my home field the PIT.| Last edited on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 at 1:46 pm PST |

this is a really good field to play at. I have only been to rankin once but when i did go it was a good experience. There were refs there that we good about chronoing our guns and reffing the games. The air ball and hyberball fields were great. The indoor field was ok but needed more lighting. They had a good snack bar and good service. Guys at the field were nice and helped out people. There was noobs, rec ballers , tourny players, just about every type of player u could think. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some fun. |

I've been to atleast 10 fields, and this is one of my favorites. I always seem to do good on the airball. I am only giving an 8 because it is hard to see in the indoor field, and you do tend to get shot after yelling hit, but pain is part of the game. I was even shot being the ref in the indoor field, shows how hard it is to see.INDOOR FIELD WAS CLOSED. You have to pretty much rely on the players to call themselves out, you can ask the staff to reff, and chronographing your gun is inforced. People don't use full auto that much, but with their electronic hoppers, and 15 bps+ and a quick trigger finger. it can seem like it.| Last edited on Friday, January 14th, 2005 at 1:00 am PST |

None to my knowledge, but I was just visiting the area. |
 |
| Review: |
While visiting the area i came across this place and played there for a day. I must admit it was not what i was expecting at all. When i arrived there were probably close to 50-60 people there playing from ages 8 (i'm guessing to full grown adults like me). I also noticed that this field is a "Tourney Player" kind of a field as i was a guy in camo awash a field of pro jersey's and full automatic markers. so lemme break my review down:
Staff - The Staff was helpful and polite, but the only staff at the entire field was the people at the pay/fill station. There were no Refs and no Officials at the Chrono to ensure that everyone was keeping their gun under 300fps. Many people were crono'ing their gun in around 310-315, i know cause they hit me and i asked the people when the game was over, Needless to say, this was a sore subject with me all day, cause i had welts that lasted for 2 weeks after i played here.
Fellow Paintballers - Normally i would not hold a field's rating against the people that play there, but since this field does not have officials on the field and they leave it up to the players to ref themselves, i am going to hold the fields rating against the players.
For the most part the other players were friendly, but i'm a Woodsball Recballer, and 95% of them were Tournament Style Players (so it was oil and water) As far as getting into games it usually was not a problem, unless teams were already picked. The 2 main problems i had with these people were:
1. Shooting people who are out: I got hit early in a game, i raised my gun and yelled "i'm hit, i'm out" and as soon as i said that, 1 Tourney Style player rises up from less than 10-15 feet away and proceeds to unload a full auto marker on me!!! As i'm screaming my head off, and he's still nailing into me, i finally hear someone else yell at him "hey man, he's had enough, let him go." Needless to say i had a chat with the person after the game and explained to him that i didn't find it funny.
2. Bonus Balls: If you don't know what this means, it means using 15 paintballs to hit a person when 2 would have done the job. Alot of people had full auto markers, and others were just trigger happy, but i was getting tired of people unloading half a hopper from their gun before they even bothered to see if they'd hit anyone.
Fields - They have 3 fields there 2 outdoor fields (tube and inflatable) and one indoor field (unfinished building with wooden barriers and sawdust floor.
The day I went it had rained the night before so the 2 outdoor fields were mud pits, everywhere on the field you were into your ankles in mud or water puddles, so i did not play there very long.
The indoor field was really neat, the only thing was in one side for the arena the floor was vinyl tiles under the sawdust, and if you ran over it you were going to bust you ass. Secondly it could use a little more lighting, it was kinda hard at times to tell if you hit your opponent, and there was alot of wiping accused in there.
All in all i had a good time, but this field is nothing compared to my home field, If i was a Tourney Style player i would have fit right in with the crowd, but i'm a woodsball recballer and i always will be.
I'm giving the field a 6 out of 10 because there was no-one ensuring the that markers were chrono'd to under 300 and there were no Ref's for the games (Major Safety Hazard!!!). If there had been Refs, then all my negative comments in this review would not have been there in the first place, and i would not have had over 2 dozen welts on my upper body for the next 2 weeks. |
