Lets get one thing straight about this field, it is not a true paintball field. It is a re-ball field.
The setting is one small speedball field. Multiple inflatable bunkers and a trough of reballs at each sides' starting point. The games are fast, as a result of the close quarters.
The Good:
Unlimited ammo
Electronic rental markers (a few Ions with battery operated loaders)
Sound safety practices.
Certain game variations allowed the players to arrange the field how they liked
The Bad:
The re-balls often jam the loaders or feed more than one round in the chamber.
The re-balls frequently jam the non-electronic loaders requiring one to contanstly shake loose the ammo.
The refs frequently had to be reminded to actually ref the games. Being teenagers, I can see how they might have short attention spans.
Small field.
The Ugly:
The price...yessir, this is the most money I've shelled out for paintball without having to pay for ammo. Most large fields I've been to did not even come close to Paintball Planet's prices, even when purchasing a full rental pack. Granted, you typically end up spending more than you would for a day at Paintball Planet when you consider paint costs. But hey, at least you get to fire real paint.
In conclusion:
I had fun during my evening at Paintball Planet. But then, I knew what I was getting into. I probably will not go there again as my money would be better spent on actual paintballing at a place where I can use my own marker without fear of a re-ball damaging my cyclone hopper.
It would be a great practice field for speedball, if only they lowered the price... |

I had a friend tell me about this place when I was looking for a place to play. So one night he and I went out there to give it a shot.
Good points:
-some of the guys know what they're doing, most are friendly
-the pro shop is well stocked
-price for all gear is very good (some better than internet)
-around 50$ for everything and all day play.
-free air (quick fill)
-open 6 days a week
-great rental deals for new players
Not so good:
-some of the guys don't know what they're doing ( some refs, players) I had a guy who works there go on for 15 minutes on how good their tourney team was and then I mentioned the teams Joy division and dynasty he didn't know who they were...???)
-field is really small
-reballs (I realize you can't use paint cause it's indoors) can cause problems (slipping, gun problems)
Honestly, its a good place to go and get some gear. However I personally wouldn't play there much. I prefer a regulation size field and real paint play. Calls are easier to make and you get better practice for tourneys. Not saying its a bad field, I understand their position. I just want to tell you what to expect.| Last edited on Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 at 8:36 am PST |

I have been to this field twice, i am not going to bring my first time into the picture
Field: they have a 2 week old nps field set. only bad thing is, dont slip on the reballs.
Service: This place was awesome. my ball detent was broke, but jonathan let me borrow his. only bad thing is that they dont have a lot of small parts for your gun. this is understandable, since the manager is new. if you have a large group of people, you might be able to get a discount. especcially if you are a team. just call and ask for jonathan
bad parts: just like all fields, there will always be bad things. when the skate park opens it is nearly impossible to hear were your team is calling out. also the food is way overpriced, i mean 2.50 for a powerade that is a rip off. one last thing, they need to "sweep" up the reballs more often.
overall this is a great field. for fifty bucks you can play for over twelve hours. this makes up for the other faults. 10/10

basically all major fields in louisiana... not too many fields are as friendly as this one... *tourney captains: NO other field offers such a good environment for you and your teammates to get nonstop unlimited practice, and improve endlessly!* |

This field is back, and back with a bang!
safety: it is very safe, and although it uses reballs(which should hurt more) they make you turn your velocity on your gun down to 220-240 so it goes just as far, but doesnt hurt as bad... they have a nice safe area with a/c and benches
field: it is indoor, upstairs on a 2 story building... it is blue and airball.. they do not have astro turf, they have green carpet- which is fine because it's easier to slide on it, but at the same time provides enough grip to run around perfectly on... it is always nice!
hours: all i can say is theyre open till 1030! thats awesome! late night pb... cant beat it...
prices: this is hands down the best part of this place- basically you pay 40 bucks per person, and for that 40 dollars you get all day air, field fee, and as many reballs as you can shoot all day... i went there yesterday and shot literally 10,000 balls (yes thats right, ten thousand!!!!!) through my angel. at a normal field with normal balls, that many balls would have cost me at 150-300 bucks in paint... not here- just 20 bucks- all day... thats it.
rules and refs: many of the rules here are self explanitory. also, in light of the ref's attempts at trying to watch players- players are using reballs here, so unless a player flinches when he's hit , hits are hard to be called.. also, gun and hopper shots are virtually impossible to make calls on, being there is no marks... basically play with the honor code- if you get hit, get out if you want them to get out next time you hit them...
proshop: prices are fair- but what puts them above all the rest is their extremely wide selection of items sold in the shop.. its amazing.
players: everybody who wants to get better fast comes here...
facilities: everything is clean and in order. much better than some of the fields ive been to. besides the reballs being all over the playing surface, outside the nets everything is spick and span
food: expensive but good!
other: i beg you, go there- you will love it!!! |

This field is ok. I think it is a little over priced. Also they said it was airconditioned but there wasnt air condition where the field was. The food was over priced too. Also you cant use a belt drive hopper because the reballs get jammed. I used a rental gun and had to keep replacing the batteries on the guns and hoppers. It wasnt very organized. I give it a 3/10 |

basicly safety is pretty terribly enfroced, but you just watch out for yourself and you'll be fine. the price is $50 to use your own equipment, and $40 to use theirs, ya sounds wierd, but people with there own equipment sometimes steal reballs. oh, and now there rental markers are ions, which is okay but atleast the 98 customs did not break every five seconds. the reballs really arent as bad as everybody says. refs are good because while they are sweeping up all of the reballs, sometimes they will let you come on the field and move the bunkers around. the field is small which is good because thats how UAPL fields are. they have a proshop, its pretty good.
overall this field is great. 10/10 |

Wow, let me start off by saying, the place is very unorginized. I find it funny that the refs dont REF, they get some shield thing and they hide in the corner, and everytime i would shoot a bunker, i would get yelled at! SORRY I HIT THE BUNKER! I was very suprised and although i dont often play speed ball, (i play scenario) the field was cool but the people were mean! Just because i dont have a marker that shoots 10000000 balls a second im not "cool" i filled up a hopper with reballs and i just dumped it in my bag in the lobby, not even worrying if someone would catch me. PBC is very strict and dosent even allow you to bring your own paint. Paintball Planet, i think, is fun when you have a group of people and you are all using rentals because it is fair, and fun. Otherwise, you are stuck playing 1 on 3 with 3 crack heads with awesome guns. Very inexpensive but it better be or else nobody would go there. Overall rating, 5 out of 10, not to mention the place is small enough and like half of the building is like some skate park and the field is EVEN shorter then before. From what i am reading, before the hurricane the place was better. I wish i would of went sooner but o well. I recommend bayou dragon or PBC, great speed ball, x ball fields but PBC prices are stingy, and bayou dragon is the full package. Please, if your in the area, visit both you will love it. |

Paintball Command - Good but expensive paint
Bull Run - way too far away but great from what I hear
Bayou Dragon - good prices, never seen the field though.
Pretty much anything is better than Paintball Planet. PBP is the worst field I have ever been to. But please, allow me to digress. |

Okay let me start off by saying, this field sucks. I give it a -1 out of 10 but I can't do that so a 1 it is.
The first time I went there, It was the best I have ever been to. The refs were COMPETENT (I'll get on this later)!! The field used paint, it was BYOP too! You just couldn't beat Planet back then!
BUT....they have since switched to reballs. Let me start off by sayin REBALLS SUCK! They suck they suck they suck they suck they...SUCK! But...this is not a Reball Review, I Will continue.
Getting back to the reballs, whenever anyone is hit, they refuse to call themselves out. There is no honor over at that field. No one cares. The refs suck too. They won't call you out if they see you get hit anyway! The field is impossible to slide on. At least without pads it is. When they use paint the field was oily and fun to slide on.
The refs...I told you I would get to it. The refs are the WORST I have EVER seen. They don't care at all. They are incompetent. All they seem to care about is how bouncy their Timmies are. It's like if your timmy DOESN'T bounce 30 BPS you don't fit in. And they show this off! The refs don't do there job. They're a bunch of 12 year olds looking for free stuff. They have an 8th grader who smokes....talk about a bad example. I have seen people leave with their young children due to this. But back to the refs in general..they suck. Once they forced EVERYONE to play a HUGE game because they didn't feel like reffing individual ones. so on a 3 man field we are doing like 20 on 20. When the refs DO ACTUALLY feel like reffing (act of god), they sit back in the lobby, say "GO on the field" and from the lobby yell "GO!" I don't even ask refs anymore, we get a team mate or another person to sit out and ref the game. But it still does no good no one calls them self out.
The field..finally the field part of the review. The field sucks too. They don't use the fans. It is kind of fun to practice with but that's about it. I am on a 7man team, the field is like a 2 and a half man field (that's a joke....). It is so tiny! like half of the size it SHOULD be. The bunkers, however are very nice and are clean. The field has literally been clocked at 115 Degrees Farenheit. !!!
Other than that The field needs major improvement. I've done enough ranting. Im out.| Last edited on Monday, December 12th, 2005 at 10:22 am PST |

When this field shot paint, it was the best I've been to. During this past year they turned to reball. They say it is cheaper for them and for the user but it totally sucks. Yea, its good for a good practice but when a good bit come out and play it is terrible. People don't want to get out when they are shot. When you are shot, they shoot you about 15 times before they stop. Like the other reviews, the refs do need alot of work. They tend to stay away from the field for some reason. Right now they are closed due to the hurricane, but maybe this is a time for them to make changes for the better |

First of all this field is great. I played on it several times and liked it. I had no problems with the refs or players there.
The field is very clean. Since they use reball, the field isn't as slippery as it used to be. The field is not too dry so you can't slide, but it is just perfect. They have a variety of bunkers.
The food is great, just kind of expensive, but its definitely worth it, especially when you are dying of thirst.
The price is great. I mean come on 30 bucks for all day and as many times you want to play and unlimited balls. What else do you want?
All of the staff is very nice and helpful. But one problem I have to say is that it is kind of hard to get a ref to ref the game that you are about to play because they are either eating or playing with their guns. Don't get me wrong, they stop what they are doing and come and ref the game, but it kind of gets to be a hassle because you have to go get them when they should already be there.
Other than that, this field is great because you can play whenever you what to, rain or shine.
I hope this review was helpful. Oh, I almost forgot, I give this field a 10 :D| Last edited on Tuesday, October 4th, 2005 at 11:28 am PST |
