The best time to go is on a tuesday night because its BYOP walk on sundays can get expensive at 40$ a bag but all around its an awsome field.

Review: I was invited out to this field by a friend of mine who has an affiliation with this field. The distance is too far to make this a regular field... with that said, I wish this field was close, as it's very sweet!

First things first... if your a person who loves props, attention to detail, and really like the feel of being at an actual military compound, you are going to really enjoy this field. The spectacular field is complete with fake missile set-ups, chain fences complete with warning signs and barbed wire, army trucks, alien crash sites, bunkers, hazardous containers... more missile set-ups, a satellite, and much much more. This field is very appealing to the eye, creates a great feeling, and is a perfect environment for paintball.

Now, when I played... it was a certain special event. I can't recall if the actual field staff was reffing at that day, but if the field staff are anything like they were... then you can be promised a fun, fair, and safe game.

This field even offers B.Y.O.P nights, the problem being that they are on Tuesdays. Over the summer for non-works I guess it doesn't matter... but for the rest of us, it would be great if B.Y.O.P were on the weekends.

This field is also mainly a private booking field. Walk-on dates are on the last (4th) Sunday of every month. With that in mind... if you plan to play paintball there, you may find yourself waiting. It's odd for a field to only be "open" (to walk-ons) this rarely, but that's the way they do things I guess.

Now, I am assuming the rest of the time they are catering to private bookings. So, if you get a minimum of 10 friends together, you can have the entire 60 acre field to yourself... sweet. Pick a good date though, cause you are required a down payment a month in advanced, and your game is on wind, rain, snow, or shine.

Prices:

If you plan on a private booking you are looking at $60 a person for entrance and rental. For $60 you get everything you need to play (gun owners get 100 paintballs instead of rental), 500 paintballs, and air for 4 hours of play. Once again we run into this 4 hours of play... personally for myself 4 hours is not enough, but I don't know if it's possible to get more time, or at what cost. Don't forget any additional paint you will need.

If you plan on a walk-on, you will pay $40 for entrance which includes 500 paintballs, and all day air, $10 for rental (if needed), and you will also need more paint if 500 is not enough.

Paint prices are also a little high... now when I went, it was B.Y.O.P, so it was alright. However, for those not able to attend on a Tuesday, paint will cost you $160 a box.

The fields are also amazing. They have a very fun speedball court. It's not a sup-air field, but more like a speedball course. It is very fun and has an abundance of objects to hid behind, or bunkers to go in.

They have there primary field which is so superb it's almost unbelievable. It's not very large... but is a perfect size for a very fun game. This would be an amazing experience for any first timer. The field as a tower, an abundance of buildings, bunkers, obstacles, and a ton of decorations.

They also have another very cool field... very woodsy, and great for capture the flag games.

I recomend everyone to view the website for more images, as words can barely scratch the surface:http://www.area-51.on.ca/index.htm

For those that can make it out on a Tuesday, go to they B.Y.O.P night. It is only from 6pm-9pm, costs only $20 (+$10 for renters), and paint is a mere $50-$60 a case.

If you can't attend a Tuesday, walk-on dates are from 9am-2pm (10am-2pm is game time - once again only 4 hours), and take a look at the field.

This field is amazing, I personally would like to see more walk-on or "open" dates. The costs are also a little steep. I am use to paying $10 entrance (as a gun owner) and $80-$120 for a case of paint... for me, that's a fair. This fields entrance price gives you 500 paintballs, but I'd rather see a lesser entrance cost, and a reduction in the paint costs.

At the same time, the field is absolutely amazing to play on, so if you have the money... the costs may be worth it.

As a summary, I recommend everyone try this field at least once, take a look at it, it's absolutely fantastic to play at. You are going to love it!

As a final evaluation, I would give this field a 7/10. There is major room in improvement for entrance costs, paint costs, field time, and "open" time/dates.

Doubt gives this field a thumb up.

Review: I am happy to say that this is the field where I first had the chance to play paintball.

This field is not huge but it is not so small that you feel like you need more space being a 60 acre field.

The woods field is pretty straight forward. While mostly flat, players will find a good assortment of bunkers to shelter in. Area 51 has a very cool speedball field. The field is a cleared path of the forest with one end on a hill. The hill commands a veiw of the entire speedball field and contains some very strong bunkers. Though if you think you've got it easy on the hill get ready to be under HEAVY FIRE! Either side you are on during speedball allows for a fast-paced game that may be slightly different from the standard and well ... a bit more fun that usual! Mini scenarios are commonplace during a regular game with some very inventive objectives. Objectives may be to disarm bombs, or finds parts to a detenator, etc. Better yet, these objects are not just empty but they actually have effects. There is nothing like finally getting your detenator together and letting off smoke bombs in the enemies bunker position.

If you have never experianced a night game than you should definately check out the ones hosted at this field. Playing at night is an entirely new experiance.

The owner of this field is very experianced and you will find some of his custom made items including rockets, and morters at the field and proshop.

Any game on this field is sure to be a fun day. Staff are experianced, and the prices are LOW! The field has a dedicated player base that are a blast to play with or against.

Review: Very different than most fields. The owners of the field must have a love for paintball as they have built the coolest site I have seen. There were Land mines, missiles and Air Strikes, even the out house is special. You have got to check this place out. Everyone in our group had a great time and we can't wait to go back. It's a little more cash then most places but with all the extras it's worth it.
