I went here on a Saturday for the first time and this field was great, I had a awesome time. The day I went there speed ball field was set up for ultimate madness, which is like 3 man teams. At first i thought it was a little small but once you start playing on it it's a lot of fun. When I got there the owner greeted me with a smile. The guy who owns the place is real cool and knows his stuff. Prices are reasonable too. I've gone to other fields and paid the same price to play and ended up ankle high in the mud behind a pile of sticks called a "bunker". Another plus to this place is that its inside, so weather isn't a issue. Having been disappointed another local field, I went here expecting hardly anyone to show up and I figured if they did that they wouldn't be any good. So when about 20-30 people showed up with at least half of them being really good I was surprised. Also for you rec ballers out there they have a real nice scenario field with 2 rooms. If your looking to buy a gun they have a great selection here, I saw everything from Timmys to Tippmanns hanging on wall. On a scale of 1 to 10 i give this place a 9 cause you can always improve. As far as places I've been this would tie for my favorite field. They have some great plans for the future too. As far as i know they will be moving down the street into a bigger building which will have 4-6 outdoor fields too, so keep your eye on this place, I expect it only to get better. One last note, under the feild listing, they show 2 in portland both of which are this feild. I think its up there twice becuase the place changed hands a while ago.| Last edited on Sunday, March 27th, 2005 at 2:01 am PST |

Myself and three others went to Extreme to Chaos for the first time and thought it was great. The staff and owners were very helpful and friendly. We had two newbies with us and the staff (refs) pointed out helpful tips and gave them good advice on playing the field.
All of us had a great time and plan on playing there again and again. Even though we were covered with dirt and paint they had no problems letting us handle the gear in the proshop area and actually invited us to try different goggles on and mess with their different markers. They were suppose to close at 8, but they let us play until a little after nine with no pressure (we only quit because we ran out of paint).
Safety was a big issue at Extreme and they made sure all markers were chronoed, everyone had to have their masks on after a certain point on the field, and all markers had to have barrel socks on unless you were on the field (some of the guys didn't have barrel socks so they let them borrow them for free).
The gravel was different but after playing it was pretty cool for sliding behind bunkers. It was tough to sneak around on it though. My only complaint was that the carpet in the speedball field was a little slippery and the first time we played a slid a little past the bunker I was trying to hide behind.
I gave them a 9. It was a good time but there is always room for improvement.

I am mainly a Out Door woods player. me and a friend went there hoping to find a few people to play with, but there wasn't, so we did 1 v 1. we basically went there to try the fiend so we can bring friends next time. the staff was helpful, courteous, and was always willing to help. 20 dollars gets you the field for the day, along with free compressed air and CO2 fills. they even let me fill my tanks right before I left. there are 2 brands of paintballs, Draxxus, and i beleive diablo. 50 for draxxus, and 60 for the other stuff. all is good paint tho. as i was talking to the guys behind the counter, they were more than willing to give us tips, what guns to look at, and even let us check out their guns that they play with.
all 3 fields had pea gravel, which i thought would be hard to play with, but if you get into it, its fun for diving, sliding, etc. and as we started playing, Team RIP showed up, and they were cool about giving out pointers also. if you bring 10+ people, you get a discount. the place was little hard to find, as the there is no big sign to point you toward it, all in all, im giving it a 9 out of 10. cause like post #1 says, not every thing is perfect. | Last edited on Sunday, May 9th, 2004 at 1:45 pm PST |

There are no other indoor fields located locally. |

I have played here 3 times and many other times at indoor fields in Indianapolis.
The best thing about Xtreme is the staff. They are very helpful and courteous, friendly and humorous. These folks treat everyone with class and provide excellent customer service. If you bust an o-ring, they will give you a spare. If you forgot your allen wrench, they will give you one to us. I have seen them help kids fix their markers (not the Xtreme field markers, but the kid's markers). They give first timers hints and treat everyone as a perferred customer. The staff appear to be having fun working there and enjoy chatting and swapping stories with the customers. They do try to make sure that you have fun, but are safe. Max is great.
The building is an old broom factory, there are basically 3 rooms. One room is a fair sized indoor speedball room. It is set up pretty well. The other two rooms are connected and are more 'hunting and shooting' rooms. The area is not as large as some indoor fields like Dark Armies or Splatterzone. However, this allows for quicker games as you do not spend half your time looking for people. It works best with perhaps 8-12 people. A group over 20 would be awkward in the limited space. One thing I like is that the floor is covered with pea gravel. No slipping or sliding. Another advantage over some indoor fields is that it is lighted well. Ventilation is good.
The price to pay is $20 if you have your own equipment, which is fairly average. A case of paintballs is around $60, which may be a little high. They have a decent supply of tanks, hoppers, elbows, oils, and stuff. The prices for these items are reasonable. They also have skateboards and rollerblades and equipment for them. Soon they are to opening an indoor skateboard park. They have sodas and snacks.
On a given day, you may find tournament level players there practicing as well as first timers playing around.
I can't find many faults, I wish the non-speedball area was a little larger, there would be a greater variety of games possible. I wish it was a little cheaper, but they would probably have to make it free to satisify me in that regard, lol. I wish they would have been open when I was a kid.
I gave them a 9 because no one is perfect. |
