Prior to flying into Israel I confirmed with the field that walk on play was easily attained on the field. The owner assured me that getting on a game would be no problem. I also asked about the availability of compressed at the field, once again the owner confirmed the ability to fill air tank and not just Co2. With that I packed my gear and set off for Israel. Once there we called and talked to the owner, now he informed me that they did not carry compressed air and only had Co2. I later asked if I could walk on with a couple of my nephews...I was then told that the only was to play was to have a minimum of a group of ten people to play on the field. We called around to other fields and got pretty much the same thing from two other fields. I inquired about speedball and was told that an annual membership fee of about $125.00 US dollars needed to be paid to play speedball. We tried to get in on a game for two weeks and eventually I left the country with all my gear not firing a single ball. If traveling to Israel, don't bring your gear, it is not worth it. |
