Crazy Daves- Nice that its indoor for winter play, but there are no refs, staff isnt very helpful, and they only have like one field open at a time.
Pentagon- fields are really far apart, and not kept up, but their pro shop is decent.

safety: Everybody always has barrel bags on, and they have multiple signs in the deadboxes saying to put your mask on.
Fields: They have a brand new psp field, another airball field, and a woodsball field. All of the field are nice and close to the staging area. The only downside to the fields is that they have small gravel for the surface, which can reck havoc on your knees, but every thing else makes up for that.
Prices: the prices are very reasonable, $25 self-equipped, with all day air, and $42 for RPS stinger paint.
Proshop: Well, they have a shed that has some assorted gear. not real elaborate, but stil nice.
Staff: I can say one thing about the staff, AMAZING. Shane, the owner, is one of the nicest guys around. If you need help with anything, or are having a problem, he's always willing to help. To me it seems like he's out there for the players a lot more than he is to make money.
refs: the refs, who are all members of the house team, team encounter(woot). During the 2 tournaments that ive taken part in there, they were constantly in the thick of it making calls, not being worried about getting hit. Even on open play days they will sometimes sit out and ref for a while. The last time i was there one of the team encounter guys came out to help part of my team run through some drills.
Players: Almost all of the guys that play there are real decent guys, but every once in a while you'll come across a guy that cheats in walk on games, and argues calls, but thats not very often, and you find those kind of people everywhere.
Food: Well, they have chips, vault, and that kind of stuff, or there is a place right next door you can order from
This is the best field in Northwest PA by far. |

Great place. Nicest people around. Great paint. nice little shop with paintball stuff, food, drinks. The refs are great and really nice. Has 2 nice airball fields. cant say enough good. The costs are very cheap, but everything is very nice. They have gun rentals, you can get c02 and nitrogen. they have chronos. They also have tournys which are ran well and very fun, w/ good prizes!
only bad thing is they are closed for a few months out of the year for winter
I love this place. its awesome, chances are if you go ill see oyu there!

Ive played at Encounter Twice. My first time i played there was a 5 man tournament. It was a blast. I do NOT know what people are talking about. There were like 6 refs on the field. And they were all making calls. The refs were great. The staff there is very friendly, especially to new teams like us. The second time i played was after a 3 man young gun tournament, that im too old for. I played some open ball with a variety of skilled players. It was great. There we not many refs, due to the fact that they were playing WITH us. But the games went great. Everyone there we cool and no cheaters. The paint is RPS. I dont reccomend the cheapest (stinger). But just for $50, the rampage shoot wonderfully. I am planning on going to every tournament Encounter will hold in '07. This place is great and i would reccomend it to anyone. PS.... team BACKWOODS is my team. |

Well to start off encounter has great parking, a nice area to place all your stuff when you get there, shelter from rain, 2 nice xball fields, a woodsball field, a chrono area that is actually close to the field, goosh who woulda thunk of that :) small store, snacks drinks, clean environment. Fully staffed with knowledgable players/refs.
Excellent pricing, all day air included with entry. marker and mask rentals available.
Usually not over crowded but you can deff get some good playing in :) |

crazy Dave's field is so much better then encounter. they have been around far longer then encounter. Encounter has crappy refs at tournaments, and the last time i play there the one of the net poles snapped in half during a game |

Encounter is mainly a practice field for team encounter. The refs during tournaments strait suck, paint is cheap (rps crap). Not to menton one of the poles snapped in half during a game cause of the wind. now the field is not bad for some one wanting to play for cheap, but remember you get what you pay for. |

Well this is the first time ive played their and i loved it, The field Staff where some of the nicest people ive met , I got a discount so i only had to pay the $20 of 25, Paint was cheap and good , It was easy to get into a game , Teams where also pretty cool and nice and really didnt use their skills on walkons like me and a few other people , The blow up corses wherent bad , the woods course was alittle hard because the stick bunkers and spools where alittle to low and you had to crawl through mud to get any cover behind them , Ive played at crazy daves since i was 5 and used to watch my dad and his friends play their , but crazy daves has gotten to Tournamenty and has grown out of their awsome woods courses witch where my favorite, SO i Recommend ENCOUNTER SPORTS!! for anyone who wants a nice friendly atmosphere and fun gameplay :) |

I've been playing here for about 2 years now and it's probably the best place I've ever played at. They have good paint (Evil, Marbalizer, Premium, Rampage, Stinger) at reasonable costs. All day air fills for only $5 and entry is $20 last I knew. They have a nice XBall field and a regular Sup'Air field next to it. The fields are on pea gravel which slows the game down a little bit but it really isnt that big of a deal. Im good friends with all of the staff and they are all very nice people and easy to talk to. I can assure you that if you go to Encounter you will have a great time. |

Played in east and west coast as well as in europe and this field is highly recommendable. The crew working the field is very knowledgable and courteous. Despite the gravel, this field is great for team practice and tournaments. Refs in every game rocks! Feel safe environment. Great paintball experience for new players and pros. Great prices on entry and paint. Fresh paint whick rocks too! The staff actually checks cases for breaks so they can replace it. Just a killer field! Thanks guys! |

This field has a nice set-up. They have a lot of airball bunkers, and a lighted field. I played in a 3-man tourny there this past weekend. I didn't really like the way they had the field set up, but I got over it. The tourny was run kinda funny. It was just a round robin. There were no finals or anything. The reffing was honestly horrible. They accused my teammate of using ramping. They tested his gun, and recorded the game as a loss for us (we won the game). After hearing this, we were outraged. Ramping by definition is having the gun kick into a set ROF after a set number of pulls per second. This was not the case with his marker. It was in semi, so we went back and told the ref. He was like "Oh, well it was bouncing." Again, not the case. Bouncing would mean pulling the trigger and having it fire more than one shot. His trigger was just sensitive. The ref would not even test it again to tell us what was illegal. He just told us to get off the field. This win would have given us 3rd. There was also another bad reffing game. My friend shot out a player on the other team. They both got hit and raised their guns. The refs called both of them out. I ran down the field and grabbed the flag. I then got shot by the player that my friend had shot out. I learned that another ref had gone over and wiped the paint off him and told him he was still in. This was a horrible call. This player shot me out, as well as our last player. The last player on my team had no paint on him. This win would have given us a tie for 2nd. The final bad call was in a different game. They called my friend out when he had no paint on him. He had some splatter, but they said a hit was a quarter size mark w/ shell. There was no hit on him. This game would have secured 2nd place. They paint that they sell there is also not very good, and at a pretty steep price. |
