I have been to Urban 2 times in the past this vist by far was the worst.
Our party was booked for 11:00am they don't open untill 11: so we had no time to get everyone ready we did not start playing untill 12:20 and we were booked till 2:00
The one ref was quite snotty and bossy. He Kept threating to kick us out because some of us had some leftover paint from another field, I understand the rule for not using outside paint but we bought 8 cases of paint and one guy got hit with one ball from another field! give me a break. On the subject of field paint, Urban stores their paint in a Sea-can and the paint got cold over night (big shock) every case we bought was brittle and everyone was breaking paint. I have an Ion and an X7 and neither have broken paint in the past, on this day it looked like soup being shot out of the barrels. I only used half a case and I threw the rest out. Also they have co2 and compressed air fills but on that day they could not get a fill above 200psi and it tooke them 5 mins every time to do it. The site does not offer interact/debit, or credit cards its cash only. You have to walk 50 feet to get to the sign in desk, no running water or bathroom facilites. Also they have an air ball field but on the day we were there the would not set it up! The only positive was that if you have your own gear and buy paint from them you dont have to pay a feild fee. |

When I went, there were no people there. A thursday afternoon, and no people. I mean sure everyone has to work but come on. I had to play against the refs and that was hella boring. I only got to play 2 fields and they weren't put together very well. One ref did help me clean my gun so I'll up it to a 2/10 |

Overall me and my fiance were happy. We didn't have a chance to play their "Jungle". Their Speedball field was fun. But nothing too exciting. She liked it because there was plenty of hiding space. Heh.
The woods I found VERY enjoyable. Plenty of low-lying bunkers, several higher bunkers, lots of trees, but spread out beautifully to give you enough cover so you're not completely in the open, but enough to see what's going on, and enough to incite you to move closer to your opponents. Lots of space to spread out. Neither bunker has the advantage. I could play that field all day long.
The field markers appeared to mainly be PMI Pirahna BL VF markers. Same one I use (my girlfriend uses the Pirahna R6). PMI is a name we trust (except her old BlackMaxx). Maybe I should say Pirahna is a name we trust. ;)
The refs were great. Took extra CO2 tanks with them to the fields. Which came in handy for the renters. Though they didn't bring squeegies. I had to help the refs and renters out a few times with mine.
I did have one ref request that I un-cock my marker while squeeging it. An odd request, and I'm not sure of any easy way to un-cock with CO2 flowing through. Then he realized his mistake. Good on him. Especially that they rent out the same type of markers.
The staff were great. $10 for each of us, but I found their paint price a little steep ($90). So the guy (Dallas was his name, great guy) helping us out knocked off 1 field fee. Still expensive, but we weren't completely raped. ;)
Dallas let me take their chrono for awhile while we chronoed up and broke in a new spring in one of our markers. Though they couldn't find a Pirahna fitting allen key. So I left mine at with Dallas at their desk so I didn't have to hike back to the car for it later. He also let me borrow a condom. Though when it came time to drop off the condom I borrowed, and grab my allan key, one of the workers gave me some static about finding it. Basically looked at me like I was an idiot. It was the only black one there, but he simply refused to help. I mentioned I could identify it. Then another guy overheard, asked if it was black, grabbed it right off their desk. It was right in the open, right in front of that other guy being a dick.
Anyhow, aside from that one kid, me and her will go back. We had a great time. It was expensive, but then again, this is an expensive sport/hobby. |

All right, Urban Paintball needs a sign on the intersection or somewhere on the road before that Propane Tank place because it's so damn easy to miss especially if you're going about 80km/hr.
Urban isn't so Urban after all, I think they still in the dark ages, I think it should be renamed to Rural Paintball. I went with about 4 women, who are all renters, I felt SO SORRY for them when they had to choose cover-alls. They were in a huge stinky, sweaty, insect infested pile in front of the trailer they call a shop.. Seriously that's disgusting. Hey, don't you hate it when you get ricochet from paintballs hitting objects close to you, and you think you're out? Ya well that's what a few of my buddies said about the outhouse they have in the parking lot...Piss and Crap splish splashing all over the place cause it was so full!!! Seriously that's disgusting.
Rental Markers were decent, except for one of them that broke on my buddy, the feedneck on the gun broke off. Also, it takes longer to fill air tanks than walking from the parking lot! What do they use there? Scuba tanks??
The fields were great, Airball, 2 Towers and the 2 Forest Scenario Fields were excellent to play on. Reffing was top notch, the Refs we had even recommended game types to change the pace, which I thought was helpful and entertaining.
The prices were great, My GF rented and I brought my own gear, plus I bought 1 case of WHITE BOX paint. GF payed $42 taxes inc. I payed the usual $10.00 fee, and the case cost me only $58. $110.00 for my girl and I to shoot each other is priceless.
I'd come here again with seasonal players with their own equipment, but I wouldn't recommend Urban Outdoor to people who have never touched this sport because I wouldn't want this place to be there 1st and only memory of paintball. I give it a 3 because the Renters had to take 2 showers to fully cleanse themselves.| Last edited on Saturday, September 2nd, 2006 at 4:08 am PST |

All I can say is this place rocks! No time limit! They have airball, speed ball and 2 forest levels. They are in the westend of town so you don't have to drive along ways. The paint prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly.
10/10!!!
Superb Field! |

For Any People Who live in the west end this is the greatest and closest Outdoor field avalibal....
Not a bad price for paint! only 6 cents a ball
field fee is only 10 bucks
and the speed ball was great well.. for me it was but everyone has there own opinion
I dont normally play Outdoor but I would have to say that there speedball field was pretty sweet
there other fields where good too but could be improved...
My brother and I where playing with some friends and it wasnt to busy so we got are own private ref for six hours and he was friendly...and to our surprise! they didnt kick us off the field for another booking unlike action (PAG) they want to keep there customers and theres no time limit on your games which is good for those slow games where not a single round is fired because no one can find each other... this Field was the best I have been too until....
A bacholer party showed up like all partys they wanted to show off and be #$%holes.. they gave the refs a hard time and once in awhile shot at them... me and my friends thought nothing of it until 2 of them came behind the safe zone where every one has there masks off and opened up on each other the refs didnt notice because they where chaseing the other dickheads around trying to keep it under control...all of us where extremly mad and my uncle had showed up so we informed them of what had happened and the party was gone...
overall good field just needs more refs...and water |

Location:
Urban paintball is in Edmonton which is great because you can have great outdoor paintball without the distance.
Price:
A lot cheaper then most other fields.
Basic: $25 -200 balls, gear
Medium: $35 - 350 balls, gear
Great: $45 - 500 balls, gear
Own: $10 - field fee
Paint: Extra -$.06 Ball
Availability:
Walk-on weekends/ booking on week-days
Staff:
Very friendly, I broke my marker and they fixed it for free.
Owner plays with you in very, very evenly divided teams.
Fields:
Only 20/140 acres developed, with 2-3 more fields being built, to bring to total soon to be 5-6.
The field that are ready as of 8/29/2004:
--Speedball --
Large speedball court
--Forest/Jungle - -
Another large , more dense field, with two bunkers and other natural
barriers.
--Pine--
Combination Of speedball and jungle, tall pine trees, with all branches cut off to about 8-9 feet.
Very recommended |

YoungGuns / Quest for Adventure / TAG / PAG are all great fields with lots of areas that can fit big groups, and with lots of diversity.
Urban, does not compare to these places. I went once to try it out and it just does not compare. I would not go again. |

The only good things about Urban is that its close to the city, and its cheap field fee.
The bad things:
- only 3 fields, which are really small
- the fields they have are not very imaginative
- expensive price for paint
- no outside paint allowed (unlike YoungGuns)
- no water
- no electricity
- refs were not that great
All in all not a good place to play. Take the extra drive out to one of the other bigger / more established fields I mentioned above.
3 out of 10.| Last edited on Thursday, September 9th, 2004 at 6:25 am PST |

I have been to Urban Paintball a few times since it has opened, and it has not let me down. The people I take (regardless of their experience) and I have always had a good time. I find that the staff is quite knowledgeable and honest if they are not sure.
The fields are a pleasure to play.
I have been waiting a long time for a field to open closer to the city and I am happy to say that Urban has been worth the wait.| Last edited on Thursday, August 12th, 2004 at 9:58 pm PST |

Ok, first of all, great prices. $10 field fee and free refills of co2, air, or nitro. Only 6 cents per ball. I had a problem with my gun leaking, and one of the guys there (Dallas) just switched my macro-line with my steel-braided hose, and GAVE me a 90 degree elbow for it. He fixed my gun up, free of charge. These people know their stuff, and are very professional and polite. They have about 3 fields so far- Speedball, Woodsball, and Bushball. I have only played their woodsball and speedball, and they rock! They also have great referees. If you want a cheap place that's probly not too far from home, this is the place. |
