Genesis (Formerly FrontLine) Great owners, small field since they moved....great speedball!!!
Kohns Great staff, great speedball, woodsball fields are way too big, covered in cow poo and way overgrown.
Blitzkrieg We spent literally 10 mins there and left after seeing their "fields" and meeting their "staff" (cough cough) |

Let me begin by giving you fine folks my background.... I have been playing this game for 15 years. I was a ref at Thunder Bay for 5 years, played with Counter Productive and Strange. I reffed 2 semi-finals leading to the world cup Orlando. That being said, seeing some of the comments that speak negatively of this field are obviously from competition. Yes, Bernie (referred as "the old guy previously") is very strict, but ALL players have to remember, safety is a HUGE issue. I play there 2-3 times a month, and players seem to have "forgetful moments", more at this field than I have ever seen. Unless you are regulars like we are, he has to think you're a new player, and even at that, he still sometimes gives us the deal. If you actually take the time to get to know the staff, they are actually pretty cool. Tim is a great owner, he runs a great operation. ALL players seem to forget that you are on THEIR PROPERTY, which equals, if you have issues, its a simple fix, buy some land, bunkers and everything else involved with paintball and start a field. It rained in the am today, so Bernie let his refs go, considering it was only our team there, letting us have full control of our play. After some time, alot more players showed up, leaving Bernie to ref alone. He did a great job, and towards the end of the day, I helped him ref a couple games, which he graciously thanked me for.
The fields:Airball, cant say anything positive to be honest (always deflated)
Hyperball: Absolutely the best, well put together
Trailers: Fun, but a little hairy, considering the fact you could get waxed under the trailer
GhostTown Graveyard, Fun field, not my fav, but it is fun to play on (take the far side ;)
Vietnam Village: GREAT woodsball field, for those that didnt learn in the brush before xball, airball was invented, give it a whirl, its fun.....and theres nothing inflatable.
Hilldago(excuse my spelling, it was named after a young man who played there, but tragically died in a boating accident, that was a reg at the field) This is one of my favs, you cant do more than 6 on 6, but try it out, its fun and intense. Its a grass field with a western feel ( ie, hay bails, outhouses, and stuff like that)
Prices are good, especially now, buy a case and pay no air/field fees....55 bucks top for the day.
Real poopers, no JiffyJohns
Hot dogs for lunch, that are pretty tasty, if you like lips and a••holes.
Overall its a great field, 1 of 2 our team will play at.

Great Field...was there for a two day game. Staff was friendly and to the point. Could not of asked for better Refs. Owner was cool about all of us camp all over his front yard. The price of the camping and paint was OK not to high. Safety is on the tope of the list here. The lay out of this field is so far one of the best I have been to. The old cars all over and bunkers all over a lot of cover. $escapedfinalstring |

Orbits- Never been planning on going soon.
Blitz krieg- Great woods ball and air ball. |

Good things
Great fields and diversity of game types. Field has about 5 woods ball fields. Air ball has about 3, including new city field. 24 hour games are fun but can be boring at times. People that go there are nice and usually willing to help.
Bad things
Manager needs attitude check(the older man), freaks out over littlest things, although i understand safety, he brought over the top by calling a meeting,(interrupting are play time) to tell us we need barrel covers. Shop is over price as every paintball place. Refs need to lesson to players wants, they like to do what they like or what there told to do. Food is pretty much garbage (only hot dogs). Gillie suit rule, is the dumbest thing i've ever heard. The rule is that a single paintball bounce or pop automaticly gets u out.
I go here only because of the field an the people. 6-10| Last edited on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 8:37 pm PST |

Gator is an overall field for any type of player. They have airball, hyperball, and woodsball. the fields were great, the place only had a few poblems.
When they finished one game they said that they were gonna start another one in 2 minutes which to me is way to short of a time to get your pods loaded up and your air filled for the next game.
Also, when your gun was broken ad you asked for help they said they couldnt help you because they didnt no squat about paintball guns.
Gator is a good field, just watch out that they might rip you off. |

I understand that at everyfield safty is important but while you were waiting for games if you were standing over a made up line one of the employes made and you didnt have your mask on you would get yelled at and that was ubsurd i mean inside the field i can understand
I loved the fields they were great with really good bunkers
The refs were really nice besides the first thing i talked about
The rest areas were nice but you need most were far away from fields
All around i give them a 7-10 |

I will start this as positive. Prices are resonable, proshop is decent, and everyone is pretty nice. And if your a woodsballer, this is probably the best in the tampabay area. Vietnam village is great, the hyperball is cool, and the trailers there allow many scenarios. We played a swat / atk/defend game that was awesome. The compressed air i think actually damaged my 2 carbon tanks. as i have a fairly new 4500 that it wouldnt get past 3300 the first time and upon going back later, got to 4000 but then mysteriously caused the stem to start leaking. My 3000 psi tank went to 3k on the first try but also began leaking.
Ok the i am pissed negative.. I really have to question the referees at this place, and while they tried to explain their position i sure have to heavily disagree. First issue my son and a fellow adult player tagged an opposing player who then was witnessed wiping. Not a ref to be found to do something about it, and when brought up to the refs they said it was too late, so i told owner and he promptly told the refs to keep an eye out. So i later found some fellow air force people who confirmed that they saw this same kid wiping paint all day.
Second issue, i got called out on what i know was blind fire shot i protested. Ref came to me after the game to fully explain what "blind fire" is, and how he was standing there and saw exactly how the person was holding there gun and everything. I have played this game since 1992 so i am all to certain what blind fire is. I said to the ref why would i expect you to do anything since he didn't do anything with the person wiping paint. Of course because my son was 12 and the "wiper" was 17+ he wanted more "witnesses" and for me to get the proof. Cant prove it once he wiped it off, other than i told him that he was going against 3 other adults, of which 2 were active military members who also witnessed him.
These 2 incidences, i can only attribute to the fact that those 2 ppl were locals and we of course were not.
Now my son is almost 12 and i am trying to teach him to play fair, but these were 2 pretty blatant issues the refs basically refused to look at. I want to go back because i love the field but i just dont know. Basically i have found that the fields geared more towards speedball have way better refs, while the woodsball places have horrible refing.. see my feedback on jungle games.. |

This place is not in the middle of nowere so thats a plus. The fields are great and have quite a variety... a nice hyperball like 2 airball and huge woods courses like ghost town and my favorite vietnam(tho my team got smoked that game). the refs and the owner couldnt of been more nice yet they were big on barrel pluugs and masks on which is a good safety precoution. There were some really good players some average and some newbies. youll be fine no matter what. They combine fields sometimes to make a "BIG GAME" as the owner calls it and it is quite big if i say so myself lol. which they play 3 man respawn during that which is when you wait for 3 men on your team do get hit(or woman.. gosh) overall you just need to come here even if you dont like woodsball type fields theres 2 airball and 1 hyperball to fit your needs but still just try the vietnam field once for me! THERES a BIG TRENCH IN IT! i give it a 9 because 10 is quite impossible in my mind unless there were a buffet line there as well and it was all indoors(yea right 30 acres in doors haha!) |

I don't normally do reviews but thought i'd clear up some of the crap posted here. this will not be a biased review at all like some of the others shown here.
First of all, this is truely a great field to play at with all the different fields they have. 3 airball, a very large hyper, a smaller urban, graveyard and the decent size woods in the back. another thing i was impressed with is they run speedball and woodsball at the same time so you have a choice of playing one or the other or both all day.
This was my favorite field in this area until they raised the price $10(from $15 byop to $25 byop) maybe a year and a half ago. with the cost of gas, even though it's a great field, it's not worth all the travel time and extra gas money for me to go there now. this is why i now just play at a nicely organized local renegade field instead. cleaning my markers because i was using some crappy warped field paint that was sitting in a hot trailer for a couple weeks just isn't my idea of having fun. not to say that their paint is this way but has been my general consensus of field paint in general for quite a few years now.
Now that that's out of the way, the last couple times i did go there the road leading to the field was flodded. if i had a truck it wouldn't have been too bad but running a car through the basically, river across the road, sucked. the wooded area in the back of the field was flooded as well. not much woods play those visits. i don't play, nor am i interested in airball. otherwise, before those couple of visits, i had a truely great time using all of the available fields there.
Though i'm a bit perturbed because he raised the prices, tim seems like a real nice person, asking and making sure people were having a good time there. mixing with the players in an admirable manner. the person i didn't enjoy so much was the grouchy old fella with the new york accent(um.....what's his name). somewhat an obnoxious old geeser with a attitude lol. the staff on the other hand always seems to have a good attitude. their attention to their reffing duties were what i would consider, mediocre but then again, i think most refs period are mediocre. attentive but not excessive which isn't too bad i suppose.
The fields attention to safety was pretty good. the only thing i didn't like was that the chronographs were pretty messed up the last couple times i went there. i ended up using my hand held chronograph instead. hopefully those are fixed by now.
I liked the fact that they had 3000psi and 4500psi fill stations and you can fill your own tanks rather than waiting in line for some sluggish staff member to fill it for you like some other fields in the area. the 4500psi station actually fills to 4500 as well. the habitual, "well......it's just not filling to 4500 today" comment seems redundant in this area for some reason.
OK, other than the raised prices if you byop, the flooded dirt road and back field and the grouchy old guy, this field truely has great potential. you have a choice of what type of game you want to play. the fields are well laid out and there are enough of them to keep your whole day pretty damned interesting. i would certainly not deter anyone from trying it out. if i lived closer i may not even have any reservations about the price hike. $30 to drive there and back, plus quality paint and the $25 entry fee just isn't worth it to me. renegade it is.

safety the masks and barrel plugs they are extremely strict about. they make sure you have your mask on be for you exit the field and barrel blugs/sleeves on.
the trailers i have a concern about the safety some have bad floors some have slippery floors.
some of the bunkers where built grate and some where built not so grate.
food they have hot dogs which is ok but iv seen other places that had more variety.
they have cold drink soda water Gatorade at pretty good prices.
entry fee is like 15 if you buy there paint and like 25 if you have your own. you can rent for 25 and that includes a piranha, compressed air tank, all day air but you hade to buy there paint which is like 40,45,50 and sometimes 55.
im a rec baller and i felt that i wasn't getting any attention.but he was all over the air ballers. |

This is a great place to go and so far the best I've been to in Florida.
Safety
Very safe place to go with young kids or even if you just don't want to be shot in the face off the field. They have chronod everyone’s gun so far 5 out of 5 times I've been there. The refs are alright and will use walkie-talkies to communicate to a ref on the other side of the field to do a paint check. They are good about running in the line of fire to grab someone out if need be.
Fields
I like a variety of fields to play on and this place is got what I’m looking for. Very nice Air ball fields and a X ball on grass. Hyper ball field (which I love) and a graveyard speedball course which is pretty cool. A trailer park course (3 trailers, 2-story fort, and 2 other small buildings) which is alright. You can get shot up close from behind on this course if you’re not careful. My favorite field is the woods Vietnam Village field. This consist of 4 forts, 2 huts, sandbag bunkers, trenches, and a two story tower and a medieval fort. A lot of fields and it is on a rotation so unless you have a large group you’re self expect to get a variety meal of fields.
Prices
Average cost with a membership available for frequent players. Of course it’s cheaper if you buy their paint and its either $40, $45, or $50 a case. Overall I would say it’s defiantly worth the cost.
Proshop
It’s a trailer right next to the staging area. It has a lot of stuff for many types of guns. They will work with you if you ask them for something and they have many types of O-Rings on sight. If they don’t have something they can order it for you if you would like. They do have running water through an outdoor sink if you need water to clean a barrel, but port-o-potties are the bathroom for male and female.
Refs and Staff
They are willing to help and are overall know you are paying their bills. They keep games rolling with a loud speaker system with 2 minutes after each game. I normally play between 10-15 games if I get there when they start and leave at close.
Food
They have one 20minuate lunch break at about noon where they offer hotdogs. They have Gatorade and water for sale all the time. If you must there are gas stations within driving distance if you rush during the 20min break.
Players
I have been to this field 5 times and every time I had at least 10 people on my team at the start of the day and at least 20 by noon. This means there was a total of 20 people at least in the morning and 40 at least 40 by noon. Great place to go if you like playing with a larger number of people. They do take private groups as well, but I think you will have to call ahead so they can have the appropriate staffing.
Overall, I would highly recommend this field. I will continue to visit other fields in Florida, but so far I will consider this field my “home and favorite field”. |
