Okay so it was my first time at this field, it was good.
there are rules about no bunkering right?
wrong apperantly..
some kid came up and shot me about 5 times from 4 feet away, and ofcourse, the little 13 year old ref didnt give a d*mn.
and this was in the rec field, not the x ball.
im disapointed.
Other then that, the rest of the staff was awsome
and so were the prices. |

This field is absolutely amazing...I have been playing at maximum (formerly The Realm)since lance owned it. And never once have I been disappointed with the professionalism of the ref`s, staff, or fields.
Fields-They always have a huge x-ball field up, the past couple of weekends it has been in the psp pheonix arrangement so teams can practice and get ready.
They have a huge hyperball field that is incredibly fun, and sometimes they have a small 3 man field set up.
They dont really have a proshop they just have a building with all the paint, and rental guns. Its kinda ghetto but it gets the job done and they dont seem to mind and neither does anybody else for that matter.
STAFF- They have the best staff of any field ive ever been to. Ross and Sidney, which are the two guys that work the inside and handle all the money business, are two of the coolest guys ever! The refs are amazing, Paul,Matt,Brian and all the boys that are on cv.
They are all very fair and are always willing to give you pointers, I have never seen them talk down to anyone no matter what age or skill level they are at.
Prices-Yet another aspect of Maximum that is awesome. 10 bux gets you in, 35 bux for a case of paint. Food and drink are all 1 or 2 dollars at most. I know they have really good party rates I dont know what they are off the top of my head.
Rules and safety- The refs do a really good job of keeping everyone safe, and they are really laid back about it, they dont kick you out of the field when you do something wrong...one time...(knights paintball does this) They just calmly remind you .
In my opinion this is the best field in the san antonio region or anywhere. It is well worth the drive. You will leave with a smile. |

I went to this field not knowing what to expect. I heard lots of good things about it but seriously doubted most of it. Being a home field to a pro team I figured everyone would be a total douche to me.........was I ever wrong. From the time I got there I was welcomed. I never really played X-ball before so it was all new to me. To my surprise I got lots of pointers from regulars and teams players alike. One of the X-Factor players saw me walk off the field in obvious disappointment and offered a few words of encouragement which didnt really help, lol, but i found very cool of them to do. The staff was great. At the end of the day they asked how i liked it and chatted with me a bit, gave me some tips, and made me feel pleased with the entire environment.
Its also one of the cheapest fields i've been to. $35 for a case of paint and all day air/field fee for an additional $10.
If nothing else I'd recommend this field for the environment. All players were very competitive yet fun to play with. Great job Maximum!!!!! the only thing I didnt like was the field were hard to slide on but it is winter and the grass is all dead so I didnt mind too much. |

I have been to other fields around my area several times, and I must say that none of them even compare to Maximum's. Even though other fields are much closer, I would much rather go the extra distance to have a much better paintballing experience. I went to this place when it was under different ownership and it was just as great then as it is now, as far as staff is concerned. As of now, they only have two fields, but it's the way that they run their facility that keeps me coming back. You don't have to wait for them to tell you what field you are going to play on, and you can play with as few as two vs. two all you have to do is ask one of several friendly refs. When this place gets more fields, and I know they will, it's going to one of the best place to go to in all of south Texas.
The two fields they do have are an air ball field and a hyper ball field. For those that do like air ball, it is a good field, but I love their hyper ball field. It is really big, and has many bunkers and lots of space to run around.
It's hard to beat 15 dollars for all day air and admission plus 35 dollars for some pretty good paint. The staff is also very friendly and always around to answer questions.
Overall, if you give this place just one chance, I'm almost 100% sure you will come back again. |

OK first off this feild had improved a lot since the people from the Realm owned it. NO offence but Texas X-Factor has done a lot of great stuff to this feild.
Ok first off the feilds :
Bad new HUGE X-Ball feild that you might get to play 5 games on because Texas X-Factor has team pratice on that feild almost all day.
HUGE NEW Hyperball feild. They basicly took the old hyperball feilds and made 1 huge one about 60-70 yards long.
Smaller air-ball feild but very good for 3 v 3 pratice if you have a 3 man team like i do.
Prices:
$15.00 for entry and all day air
$35.00 a case of paint ( feild paint but not bad paint at all )
Staff:
Very good Quote from one of um "What you need?I got what you need bro." lol well they will help you out with about everything from tips to cleaning your gun if your new. Refs are very, very fair.
Others: Gatorade and water to buy
$25.00 for entry, air and gun with N2 Tank

My name is Lance and my wife Kelly and I were the previous owners of the Realm paintball park . We opened in October 2004 and worked hard to be the best we could in all areas of the business, particularly customer service. By our reveiws it seems we have accomplished that.
We recently decided to sell The Realm. This decision was made due to things we had going on and basically we wouldn't have time to continue to be the best we could be. When the decision was made we also wanted to make sure that whoever bought our park would be a good candidate in all aspects. Not just someone who knew nothing about paintball, but wanted to capitilize on the sports popularity. It is important that someone considering getting into the business end of paintball know enough about it in order to promote paintball positively.
Now, The Realm is under new ownership and we feel confident that it will be better than ever. Look for bigger and better things in the future. We hope that what we started will continue to be a place you choose for your corporate events, bachelor parties, birthday parties or just to walk-in and join a game. We appreciate the support from all our friends and loyal customers. We think everyone will be happy with the progression of The Realm paintball park.

Realm is a very good pb place. Plain and simple. I'll start with the staff.
STAFF
Very great staff. They simply amazed me. I go to Knights frequently due to distance issues. At knights the refs are anal! One ref was like 10 years old! most were from the age 15-20. They were pretty unexperienced and didn't do there job. Krossfire has great staff also. The only problem is that the ref to player ratio there is like 2:40 and it isn't very easy to watch wipers or people quick-switching to auto and back to semi.
Facility
Simply the best. This place has only 3 fields. Airball & Hyberball x2. The owners are amazing. The grass is freshly cut and perfectly green. The staging area is litter free. The place is cleaned daily. The fields are each a little bit different setting a new experience every game. They have no plumbing but big deal. It isn't worth the 2 mintues you are in there to get plumbing.
Fields
Fun fields. The fact that they have three is kind of sad. As soon as you get on the field and play a game you don't give a crap whether or not they have 3. It is an amazing experience and I love it. Knights blows there money on fields and makes the barriers close and big so it is no challenge at all! Krossfire is the same. This place is challenging for experienced players and even easy on the noobs.
People
I am a pretty good player. Not trying to sound anal but I do pretty good at rec ball. The Tourney players play rec alot and it amazes me. The Tourney players at Knights hang out only together and yell at noobs at tease and such. These players here actually approach noobs and say. "Hey, you are new aren't you? Well, would you like to come join my game?" It is just an amazing relief to have NICE PEOPLE.
Tourneys
Tourneys almost every weekend or every other. Great prizes, fun play, plain & simple.

this place is the best . me and my Friends use it all of the time. it is family owned and operated. they have great safety rules and are cheap. they have ions to rent fo like 25$ which is a great deal for all day. all of their staff/refs are tight. (watch out for chris the little kid) they have snacks and little microwaveable food. they only have porty-a-pottys which don't bother me. go check it out |

The Realm has a great staff. really friendly people there. it was my 1st time playing there i kinda just went in a t-shirt and some some jeans. it more a less a last minute type thing. i went on sunday when they have their tourney players go. but they still made time for the rec players. occasionally we had to ref our own games but the ppl there were really nice and didnt cheat. well to the best of knowledge. great prices and u can bring ur own paint. they have like 4 fields. 1 airball field and 2 speedball fieldsand another field on the side but i didnt play there. i suggest u go play there on sat whens its more rec players. |

First, field was easy to find. Staff was great the guy Behind the counter that hepled me was very infomative and very cutomer friendly I think they called him Poncho(sp). The refs were on top of ther jobs .It was a great experince I will deffintley come back to play agian. Any body that wants to try paintball should go to this park for your first time. Everybody is laid back and are only out for the cutomer to have a good time and to keep ou safe. I have been to the other park mentioned and did not like it I ws more worried about breaking a rule as to not get kicked out that i did not have any fun. All in all i will recommend this park to all my friends and will play more paintball cause of this park. |
