Review: Alright here's my review. I dont have much time so im going to do a "pro's" "con's" type review.

PRO'S
____________
1. Nice and safe drive to the field.

2. I personally am in love with the air station. LOVE IT

3. The new NPPL layout is probaly the most beautiful field ive ever seen in person. And its even better to play on.

4. The staff and owner are greatly kind and do whatever they can to insure you had a great time.

5. The resting area or the place where you get ready for another game. I like it , plenty of space, innumerable amounts of tables, and chairs.

6. Reffs are consistent, and do their jobs. (cough) unlike other places (cough) cowto....Nevermind
____________________________________

CON's

1. I dont have major concerns.

Review: The feilds are good, but they only have one of the speedball feilds set up most of the time. A lot of local teams practice there, but they also like to sandbag (when your team is really good, but you play bad teams to make you look even better.) When I went there though, every wiper in the world plays. The recball field isnt laid out the best, but it is about as god as a recball field can get. It only got worse thoughout the day because there was only one ref between the two field, and most of the time, he was talking to the guy at the hotdog stand about what he was going to upgrade on his ion. Even when he did ref, he just stood there, and let people wipe. There was also a lot of stupid people there. I got hit in the mask and my shoulder playing speedball, and i was walking back into the staging area when a guy comes up to me and asks if i was shot out. (remember, i had paint all over my mask). I told him that i chose to call myself out because i got bored. With an intrigued voice he said "oh, why did you get bored". I love stupid people!! :)

Review: 23bps is fun, prices are low, and you can bring your paint, and they change the speedball field every week which is asome because it always keeps you on your toes. But there is some problems, the main problem is that it doesn't have and working reffs. The refs i just poeple who volenteer and trust me it gets pritty frusterating when there is a guy in the snake and the ref is telling that guy were every one is. I mean it just pisses me off. But i suggest to stop this put a couple of bullets in the reff when he is doing that. Thats what i did at least.
For all those noobs out there yes there is a rec-ball field but thats not all good either because you got absolutly no one refing that field.
But in the end its all good.

Review: They are so many speedball cheaters it is not even funny. Everyone chronos mad-crazy speeds and practically everyone wipes their shots, especially a team called REBELLION. I guess wiping is part of the game, but freaking doing it all the time is just ridiculous. 23bps definitely needs to have some fair refs. Seems like all the refs do is give pointers to their personal friends, and when I mean pointers, practically telling one team(ref's friends) exactly where everyone is on the opposite team and also telling them when to make a move.
I don't know, i guess 23bps is a place to learn to play speedball the dirty way. If you want to learn how to wipe, play way above 300fps, and CHEAT like a mofo, then 23bps is the place for you. No wonder AZ teams suck in paintball, they cheat so much when it comes to real refs their game is totally different. WE live in the 6th biggest city, yet our best Arizona team is team PHOENIX UNITED, and they are 10 place on SEMI-PRO on NPPL. <<< HOW sorry is that.

Come to 23bps, expect to cheat or people will call you noob.

EDIT:
Cheating is still there, no biggy. The owner of 23bps has done a way better job to have referees and chronoing people randomly. I love this field now, i feel safer and I'm happier because referees do their best calling people out.

Review: forgot the excact date i was there dont really care

Ok the fields where GREAT lemme just say that i took the snake so many times and pwned tones of people! They are the cheap bunkers and those who have played tournys can ezly hear/feel the difference between cheap and nice!

That said WAY 2 many noobs not that i have a problem with noobs but heres the bigest problem i have when they call out and say snakes hot snakes hot WOW what part then someone said back right stand up and i pop up from the snake and he wasnt up and was like WOW!

Also the teams there do shoot hot i cornoed one of the guys guns 2 avoid a fight and it was 340 on his Ego and told him i really didnt care if it was hot but just dont lie about it! And then the owner one of the ladies told me not 2 tought other people stuff and i was like wow then corno ur team your sponsering! Tho it was just that one kid the other guys on the team where pretty cool and clowned around and it was all good!

Safty was good they did corno the walk-ons! however i notice that it wouldnt be 2 hard 2 avoid a crono u didnt have 2 get check or anything!

I even played the rec field once UM wow cleary AND I MEAN CLEARY didnt take 2 long 2 think out the field the 50 is blocked in so once i made it there the only way 2 get me out is 2 bunker me and LOL that didnt happen!

One of the best things is they dont have an overshot limit! which 2 me i dont over try 2 shot more then i need 2 but i just get in the habit with air bunkers like im in a tourny and you have 2 usually really nail a person so they know there out an the refs know there out! i blasted some dude in the 50 from the snake like 12 times in a second and we were all good i got simmalr treatment and wasnt made at all we shook hands and everything was cool

Um another sorta bad thing was a lot of noobs talked a ton of smack! I heard more trash talk from people with ions then i did the feilds team (who really wasnt that bad other then the one dude) and they say stuff like dude I Goggled someone and they didnt get out or i shot up is leg! and i was just like NO you DIDNT u DIDNT SHOOT ANYONE u got BUNKERED which i did say 2 a kid cause he got really into the fact he always thought he shot someone after everygame!

ALL and all the air bunkers are really nice the paint was a good price 45 for 2000 that was good practice paint NICE SHELLED poor fill. but the air bunkers are set up like a pro fields except the one where there was only one bunker on the right side where the snake was so once u got him out who ever owned the snake usualy won!

really nice field i got usually once a month

Review: For the one time that i played it was fun. Just one problem... they couldn't get the generators working, so they were unable to get the lights to come on for the night games. The one great thing was they refunded money. Run very well, and very nice people. Would definitely recommend field because of how well fun it was, the amount of people that show up to play, and not just newbies and a variety of different styles of play. Awesome field.

Review: Getting bored with the massive lack of speedball at Cowtown, me and two other friends decided to head to 23 Bps once to try it out, and after that I realized it's much closer to my house than I first thought.

Anyways, to start off, the staging area setup is very nice. Netting above the area for a little bit of shade, but regardless, shade is shade. Excellent. Though, when we arrived our table was really wet, but that's not really a problem, considering everyone in the state just wants a little bit of water to fall from the sky.

Payment was easy as filling out the membership form and handing it in, then getting the wristband.

Before the game, I went to fill up and noticed there was only one and a few people we waiting in a short line. Not a problem, really. Once I filled my tank, I was surprised once I got it to 3000, considering that I never really get it up there at Cowtown. Before I headed onto the speedball field,. everyone chronoed, which is something almost never done at Cowtown either. Once that was done the sides were split up evenly and the game started quickly, and just the first game got me hooked.

The air bunkers are a nice change from the usual tubes, and I noticed I was doing much better as I was starting to just keep playing game after game. Though there are no official reffs, a player or two will sit out and reff, thankfully, and they actually take a reff shield and actually check the player instead of look from the sidelines.

The rec field, from what I saw, looked enjoyable with it's wide open space and hills, and I knew i'd enjoy it but I didn't really play on it, I was more hooked on the air field. The only thing I didn't really enjoy on my visit was that the X-field wasn't set up, one of the fields I was looking forward to. I hope that the next time I go, the X-field will be set up, but despite that fact, I really enjoyed my time.

From now on, 23BPS is my new home field, and i'll try to go as much as I can. Maybe even get a one year membership. I enjoy the place that much! 10 out of 10.

EDIT: I do not change any of the things I said above, but just to add a bit more stuff. Sean Vogel [Captain of Team Hellfire, Owns Beyond Paintball] is renting out the field on Sunday nights from 6 to 10. When school starts (August 14) the time changes to 5 to 10, then when it gets cooler, it'll be 1 to 5. The price, as of now, is $25 entry (Used to be 30) and $100 a month, and when more people start coming, the price will go down. So make sure you bring your friends if you plan coming!

Shootersworld - WAY back in the day.
Directions
to the Field:
Take the 101 West to McDowell Rd. Go north up 99th ave about a quarter mile and you will see a yellow sign that says 23bps and paintball on it on the right hand side. Turn right there and WATCH OUT FOR THE CANEL. (almost slide into it. LOL) follow the road back towards the field.
Review: PROS
Location. Don’t have to drive out to the boonies. Decently central location, I know it’s a bit far for the east siders, but meh.

Good Refs (not great, but good. :P) always at least one ref watching whichever game you are playing. Ref made sure everyone chronoed as they entered the field. (Took this for granted until I played at Cowtown.)

Recball field. Good variety of obstacles. Layout promotes more of a shootout gameplay. Which ever team pushes out first, seems to be the winner, cause eventually the team that gets pushed back to there main base gets bunkered. (watched around 10 games and this seemed to be the trend.) not to say you dont have a lot of fun making your Alamo type last stand. LOL
nice

Speedball field. Complete with grass, just like the ones on TV. Fun to watch, but not my cup of tea. I know its one of 23's biggest selling points for teams and such, so they must be doing something right. :)

Friendly Staff. It can be intimidating going to a new field with new rules and people. the staff that was there didnt mind answering our questions or explaining anything to us. Nothing is worse then asking a question and getting the "gosh are you stupid" look/attitude.

BYOP. They even had a sale of Diablo or something for $35 a case, which was what I paid for my plain jane Nelson. I'm just going to buy from them next time to try it out.

Prices. $10 field fee is low enough to play frequently

Gear. I saw V-Force masks and Tippmann 98s for rentals. Good reliable gear, didn’t see any Tippmann’s breaking down or under performing. Gear breakdowns can destroy a day at the field and it was comforting to know they had good rentals so people that casually play can walk away with a good experience, not “my gun was a piece of junk, all the customs tore me up.”

Proshop. They carried a selection of replacement parts, so incase your loader breaks, you need a tank, new mask, etc, they had stuff to let you finish out your day. Bought a ton of o-rings for my tanks, since they were so cheap. Back in the day they ran $1 a piece, they had them for .25 so I bought a bunch.

Food. They had the food cart going, whatever was there smelled GOOD. Hotdogs and all that I imagine.

Owner Communication. Easy to reach the owners via there website, for questions and what not. I posted a little mini review there and the owners jumped right on it and addressed my concerns.

CONS

CO2 price. $15 was VERY steep for me as I generally only shoot two 20oz fills, which doesn’t add up to $15. Up side is I filled ALL my tanks so next time, its just $10 and paint.

Entrance. Missed the turn off my first time, almost slid into the canal on entry, didn’t see it. HUGE piles of fertilizer nearby STUNK. Lol

No orientation. We didn’t show up until around 7pm, so we didn’t get any sort of noob or safety orientation. I know the rules, but better safe then sorry. “I didn’t know” doesn’t mend wounds.

Ref allocation. I saw between 2 and 4 refs on the speedball field, while only ever one on Recball. I know speedball requires that kind of “babysitting” but as a dedicated recballer I wish we got a more attention.

Tank Fills. Doesnt anyone use a scale anymore? The guy who filled my tank just listended to it as it filled. LOL

Lighting. Lighting was good on both fields, wishing there was a bit more on the recball, and 23 said they were looking into adding more. Just a cost issue at this point, though its something to look forward too.

All in all, I give 23 an 8 of 10, with a 9 or being easily reachable. The PROS were solid and the CONS were mickey mouse fixable.

Review: CONS:
-Could use a SAFETY ORIENTATION FOR THE NEWBIES.
(*I was shot in the back multiple times over multiple games by the
newbies who have never held a weapon before.) I did take a couple
"under my wing", being prior military, and helped them a little ....

-Could use a FEW more REFS for the REC fields. Several fist fights
almost broke out. Guys/Gals WIPING or RE-ENTERING games
after being out. (I Tried to calm the waters w/ players by pointing
out that this was just a "GAME" and they are getting their money's
worth when playing at this field.)

-BONUS BALLING is UNCHECKED!!! I know it's part of the game,
but point blank bonus balls in the BACK, SUCK!

PROS:
Awesome times.
GREAT GAMES.
Great people.
Very Helpful staff. (Mex answered a few of my NEWBIE questions) THANKS!
Reasonably priced paint. (They aren't out to gouge you for bucu $$$$)
BYOP ... : )
Great fields. REC and Speedball.

Thanks for GREAT times MEX .... enjoy the BREW!
