1 word amazing, cheap paint, cheap fees, owners friendly, well maintained feild, lots of people of all levels great all around feild. If ur gun ever breaks down the owner will do his best to fix ur gun and get it working great. Like i said cheap field 10 dollers gets u in for the day and unlimited c02 or air and then 5$ for 100 balls. (formula 13) |

I played at Tb3 in october at thundergrounds and had a lot of fun. First I'll start with the cons.
-captains meeting was 45 mins late(could of slept in more
- got there at 8 am and waited around for 1 hour for the staff to finally get organized
- the refs stole my pod that i left on the feild after a game.
- Most of the time there was no one around to fill my air tank
- needed more teams, only 7 noob, 5 rook
- no where to sit near the feild to fill pods.
Now the pros,
- funnest tourney i have played in
- the netting around the feild was spectator friendly,( one tourney i went to at tigerland didnt even have netting around the feild so spectators had to be masked)
- nice feild, had an X, decent snake, and was fun to play
- price ( only $90 for noob )
- reffing was ok but i was mad that they stole my pod
- good expirence
I rated this tourney an 8 becuase it was very fun but a little unorganized. I would go back to play in anouther tourney without question. if you live around salmon arm i would go and play there because they have a nice airball feild and their woodsball feild looked decent.

I played at thunderball 3 in October and I thought I would share my experiences as well.
Before anyone else says I am whining because we got worked I will say we placed 2nd in the rookie which is hardly getting worked.
First the Negative
The field layouts that we were given prior to the event were not even close to the actual field. This means that my team and I completely wasted our time drawing up game plans.
Captains meeting was supposed to be at 8:30. I drove from kamloops and arrived at 8:00. It was 45 minutes later before I saw any staff.
When we arrived the field wasn't set up so not only did we not have the proper layout but we also couldn't walk the field properly.
During the round robin portion they lost track of one of our games( which we won)and they made us play an extra game.
They didn't know how to fill CO2 bottles properly. If you are going to run a field this has to be a basic skill.
The paint had obviously been around for awhile. It was heavily dimpled and quite a few were football shaped.
The positive.
The layout for the field was awesome with the big X in the middle it made for great breakouts.
The netting around the field was good I never saw a spectator get hit and any cars that got hit were far away.
The reffing wasn't perfect but it was decent for this level of tournament.(T_Reed is just spoiled by the great reffing that DE does in Quesnel)
The event ran fairly smoothly other than the minor hiccup which I mentioned earlier.
I know that events like this are not easy to organize.
The bushball field looks like it would be a lot of fun although it is not very big.
I think that this would be a good field to play speedball at on a regular basis. I would be willing to attend a tournament there again but unless there was a few improvements it might make me question the long drive.

Okay. I think thundergrounds is THE best paintball field in the Shuswap area. Low prices....$20 for a rental and the works, and for a lot of the paint, the cheapest (low cost) stuff around. Even though some of the tournaments are unorganized, they still turn out great. The problem is that if not enough teams show up, the prizes are downgraded to a point where it's not even worth going (sometimes). At the last tourney, my friend and his team placed second and the third place team recieved a better price, price wise. I also really really don't like this ref because when a ball bounce, instead of telling me to get down to check it, he grabs me, I fall over, and my gun gets lit up. So thats the negative stuff, nothing serious, just a tournament or two.......But seriously, go to the tourneys because the more the marrier and the nicer prizes.
The speedball field is amazing! Soooo much fun. Real nice setup and whenever a bunker or two is a bit saggy they fill 'er up. The bushball field is great too: a couple forts nice and high where you can snipe people. And also a hay field, which is fun, but I think the hay is done....gotta get some more. So, my conclusion...Price freakin sweet, paint quality good, field good, staff really really good (especially the owner, he's a neat guy, amazing with repairs). Except a ref at a tourney PUSHED me out of my bunker, and any of the people who will argue that, bite me. You know who you are ;).
Bang for your buck: 10
Paint quality: 9
Field Fun/Quality: 9
Staff: 9.9 (Im giving this a 9.9 because I don't like that ref)
Im giving this a nine on the field rating but I'd say it's about a 9.7 |

I have played at quite a few different woodsball fields in the area, but the only field I have gone to that has an airball field is this one because of how expensive places like Armageddon are. |

This field recently had its final tournament of the season - Thunderball 3. The only reason I gave this tournament a 9 is because of the one scetchy ref call. My gun actually didn't work in this tournament, but it was still an awesome tournament. They had a good field set up, possibly too many bunkers, but it was still great. The refs were fairly good, and the teams were all cooperative, but it was slightly unorganized. The prizes were based on how many teams signed up, and were actually good for the amount of teams that showed (12 between rookie and newbie). The only other thing wrong with this tournament was that each person had to pay $10 for air in addition to the $90 per team for newbie. I don't know how much rookie cost. However, this was still an awesome tournament and if you can you should show up next year. |

Although I don't play paintball, my sons do and I was very disappointed in the tournament at Thundergrounds that took place on September 11, 2005. The lack of safety was appalling. There were numerous times that kids were walking around without barrel bags or plugs in their guns. A few of the older and more experienced players attempted to put a stop to this, but without the Refs' or owner's backing them up, it was a little difficult. Cars were shot (including those out of range of the painball field, behind the netting) and balls were flying overhead. I'm very suprised that no one got hurt.
The owner of this field and her son seemed completely unorganized and not concerned about safety at all as they were well aware that people (including Refs) were walking around without barrel bags or plugs. I was even told that a Ref was out on the field without a mask on.
Although my sons didn't place and wouldn't have won a prize regardless, I thought it was poor business to downgrade the prizes so much. A box of paint and a squeegee hardly makes up the cost of competing for the winners. Because there wasn't a full turnout, I understand that the prizes couldn't stay the same, but this seems a little excessive.
Due to the complete lack of regard for safety at this field we will never return and I do not recommend this field to others. |

Played this field in salmon arm at a recent bush tournament, Sept. 12, 2005. One hour before the start, the owners announced the prizes of 3 imagine guns, hoppers, etc., were cancelled. Prizes of only paint was to be awarded. This after taking all the registration fees, weeks in advance. Also the game observers did paint checks to identify player positions to their friends playing on opposing teams. As well, many people noticed them ignoring hits on these same players. There is a speedball game coming up here...good luck playing at this field with these clowns. You won't see me there, or many of the others who were at this game. |

Ive played at Bushwackers in Vernon and Safari Ridge in Westbank. Bushwackers would compare to Thundergrounds but Safari Ridge is way behind. Thundergounds has many rentals, 4 fields and has had a few succesful tournements. |

Thundergrounds is an awesoem place to come and play paintball. With four fields and people always there wanting to pplay its non stop action. The airball field is always set up and is sweet. The staff is awesome and prices are the cheapest. Great field. No improvements are needed. 10 out of 10!!! |
