Okay I like to do THOROUGH reviews so if you want my "blurb" that most kids get I'll give you that now, after that I go into detail. Consider yourself warned (for all those people out there with short attention spans)
Maverick Paintball is the best paintball field I've ever played at in my life. Facility is phenomonal. They have monitors to see action on the field, dead boxes, "benches" where you can keep extra paint, chrono room, spectator areas. The staff are great people, a joy to deal with. The field itself is incredibly clean, perfect air circulation and a joy to play on. The price is ridiculously good (special today $100 for 2000 paintballs free entry, wednesday $60 for 2000, that's just insane!) Amazing field, no reason to play anywhere else unless it's too far away.
Now detail...
Staging
Bright open areas with pool tables, games, lots of table space for your equipment. There's the counter where you can get air fills. Yes AIR they don't do CO2 which is a perk all by itself. There's a pro shop in the works. Go down stairs and you'll pass a clean well organized chrono room where you can get your markers tuned up. Upstairs there are spectator areas and apparently a reball room (which I didn't check out.) Just before you get to the field there are benches setup behind the screen so you can lay out your paint, clean your mask, etc... without having to do more than walk off the screen. All fields should be laid out this well.
Rentals
I think their Mokal Focus IIs and as rentals go, they're great. Kids were shooting these so fast I thought they were electrics. They're very clean and for a rental I think the performance was great. If you had an issue the ref actually fixed them right on the field.
Staff
The lady at the counter (one of the owners?) was very friendly, talked for a while with us while we waited to start up our games. The loan ref who was there at the time was a great guy. Not only making the right calls but helping out some the little kids who didn't really know what to be doing. Little touches like this show they actually care about making sure everyone has a good time.
Price
I could gush for a while and point out how Flag Raiders could learn a thing or two from these guys but I'll spare you the venom. Either way 100 bucks for a case of paint around here is ridiculously good, 'nuff said.
Field
The only things about this field that resembles the fact that it was a hockey arena were the benches and score board. The field is all "Mav-turf" which allowed the perfect blend of slidable yet not slippery. I was superman-ing into bunkers like no tomorrow. The bunkers are great, not under inflated and not covered in paint. They routinely brought a machine out to clean the excess balls off the field so the field was always clean and ready to go. I've never experienced this before and it'll be hard to go back to venues coated with 2 inches of paint from the late 90s. There was plenty of cover on the field but enough open lanes that you had to watch out where you were running. Best physical field I've ever played on.
Paint
Spank. Purple in color. All the balls looked consistent, not dimpled and from what I could see they flew very straight. However as I spent so much time running, diving and hosing paint I didn't notice too much. No chops though, barrel or otherwise so I was very happy with it.
Well think that's about it. In conclusion, this should be the template by which all fields in Ontario should be created by. It was a joy to play on, the staff was great and the price was right. My only complaint is that Zurich is too far away from Waterloo. But that's hardly their fault :)

Maverick paintball the field is 190 x 76 which is a really good size it use to be a hockey rink. Complete spectator viewing from both sides of the field. On the field there is a scoreboard and game timer. the field is MavTurf artificial turf.they let you where plastic cleats which are really helpful some feilds don't even let you wear cleats. Maverick paintball has fans so you will not fog up and and when you play it will keep you cool!! I would also recomed that you go on wesdays because they have paint for only $60 WHICH IS AN ASOME DEAL!!!!! They also have a reball area upstairs were u can pratice. Thay also have a pro shop that has some stuff in it but not complete yet SO NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO GO PAINTBALLING GO TO MAVERICKPAINTBALL I WILL BET ITS THE BEST AND THE FUNNEST FEILD YOU WILL EVER PLAY AT!!!!!!!!!!!| Last edited on Friday, February 10th, 2006 at 4:14 pm PST |

There are several other fields in the surounding region including Flagswipe paintball, another very good facility. However, because of the superior pricing, high quality staff and vision and forward thinking towards the sport of paintball, Maverick Paintball takes the cake! |

Wow, all I can say is wow! State of the art airball field, special "MavTurf", 360 degree levelled spectators area, Spacious, accessible staging area, well lit playing area, Mini arcade, several tvs, and one massive projection tv/dvd player, Control room with music and control over score clock! Amazing deals on paint and entry for teams, and competitive pricing for rentals and walk-ons. Currently supporting a pro team playing the WPL (Toronto Mavericks) Clean, efficient, coaching available for teams, as well as "play with the pros" nights upon request. They are reportedly looking into getting reball on certain nights, which will be cheap as well, and currently have a reball snapshoot/target rnage with turf and bunkers upstairs! Will accomodate players of any level, large groups, friendly hardworking staff! Those who work their go to great lengths to make your playing time as good as possible! Overall, an amazing field!

Maverick Paintball is an amazing indoor airball feild. They have 2 absolutley huge fans so you dont fog up. The turf its awesome artificial grass types stuff, none of that nasty sand or dirt. The turf is amazing for sliding just make sure u have shoes with good grip for running. The waiting area it huge and its got an acrade. I recomend to go on wednesday when its only 60 bucks a case and 10 bucks to play. 360º ov veiwing area. Just an all around awesome coures and you definatley should go. THeres also a a fifteen foor tv playin clips of paintball and a big sound system. All around awsome place. |

This is by far my favourite field to play at and iv been to alot of fields through out ontario.
No matter how long of a drive it is, it's worth it!!!.Its the best xball field ever!!!They have a huge screen witch usually is showing paintball clips and 2 huge fans above the fields so your gogles dont fog and it keeps you cool!!. They also have a great sound system so you can listen to songs between games. They Even Have a great reball area upstairs great for practice or just playing around!!!So all and all this is my favourite field and i would suggest it to any one that is new to the game or even pro!!!

WOW! WOW! WOW! This feild is absolutly amazing for any tourny player out there! It is in an old hockey arena, which they have renovated into, in my opinion, the best feild in all of Ontario if not Canada! They have a huge staging area, which used to be a full sized gym, as well in front of the staging area is a stage with a huge movie screen which is constantly showing paintball videos. Also they have a huge sounds system through out the arena so between games you can get pumped up, just like at hockey games. They've got the scoreboard for when you want to play x-ball. They also have VIP rooms which are above the feild and have a full wall of windows so you can watch the games from above. As well they have plans to put in a gym for the players when they want to work out! Also a re-ball snapshooting area is being built, as well as a proshop, which may have two stories! They have showers, change rooms, everything! Like if you want it this place has it! They have done everything beyond today's paintball standards! Normally when you go to a field it is a dump or in an old warehouse or something, but not Maverick! This place is a class-act! |
