Review: This place is alright, my recoil pad somehow flew out of my gun (32 degrees icon E) and i asked the guy to fix it, then the tech guy offered to fix it for $12 (which was kinda a rip off but whatever) and then i went in to play the next round but my gon all of a sudden started to s hoot out all of my co2 and my gun was like ice cold and i asked the guy what happened and my bolts were loose or something like that, then the next round my battery died out and he gave me a new one. lol he was a nice guy but i think he was fed up with me asking for help so many times in a row. But i definitely recommend this place to anybody with alot of experience/little experience because it's great fun but its kinda expensive. If you go, bring alot of drinks (water, soda, etc.) or u can buy drinks there for a $1 each. AND BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH!!!! i highly recommend this because the pizza that comes by is $5 for a 7inch pizza which is tiny and a soda. But the pizza isn't too good so bring your own lunch!! and the paint at sherwood is ridiculously expensive ($40 for 2000 rounds) which i still buy if i have to but im going to bring my own paint next time. The refs there are alright, some guy kept on yelling at me cuz i never had my barrel plug on even though i had it on safety, but rules are rules. But one ref guy was nice enough to try to help me fix my gun during the game, but he took it apart outside the game and he didn't know how to put it together so i had to go to the front desk for tech help....again There open on saturday and sundays from 9-3pm so get there early. The rules are the same as other places ive heard, they check your fps but after i tune down my fps i turn it right back up all the way. Rentals are $40 and u get a 100 rounds with it and a tank of co2 but the guns there are HORRIBLE. I don't know alot about paintballing but i know that their guns are terrible. It's really easy to sneak in if you bring your own gun. But for $20 for your own gun that's not bad at all. Recently they got rid of the speed ball and i don't know why, but i played it before and it's not bad. But their woodsball is alright too many trees and they just block your shots. But i recommend this place to anyone who wants a great experience.

P.S.
BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH!!

Review: Well this field used to be great, but its gone wayyy down hill. There X ball field is in really bad shape. Refs don't care about the field or they do nothing. a lot of these players think there great and can compare to a pro player (but its fun to shoot them out). The teams cheat all the time. The field is overpriced. So I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend.

Review: The safety meeting at the beginning was good and to the point. the fields were not that great and the refs had the buddies playing. as for the buddies goes, the refs would put them all together against the noobs and others with less time playing there on the other side. these noobs only had semi auto rental markers and others had electros, but nothing near the sh*t they had. before i forget about the refs, the only safety they worried about was making sure your mask was on and barrel bags on also. i know for a fact that also everyone there with a high end marker was running hot, because my marker didnt clock in anything under 350 fps. the refs said "lets go, the games about to start".
as for the field itself, well you have 2 speedball fields and 2 rec fields from what i saw there. the rec fields suck big time a$$. first off, you cant see the other team coming or where they are shooting from. hence the reason the refs put them together, because they know the field very well. there isnt any fair play there either, if your going out after getting hit they still hit you a few more time (they are lucky i didnt see them, i would have shot them back in the staging area for doing that....F**KING A$$HOLES!). i honestly didnt enjoy this field or the refs there or the regulars there and i'm glad to say i wouldnt return here even its for free.

Review: ok ive been reading all the reviews for this field and im very confused.... everybody is saying that this field has realy expensive paint....... well what field doesnt??? if you play paintball you know that walmart is not the place to buy paint and neither is the field. go down to your local shop and buy some white box!!! --- 20 to 30 a case

So now the field.

This paintball field is more for the speed ballers than than the woodsballer. which means fast pased gameplay. and most of the people who go here have been playing a long time because of the field setup. they have two speedball fields, one hyperball field and two woodsball fields (which are small).

i would not recomend this field for newbies to the sport. the rentals they have are in no way even to the regulars that come to the field. dont get me wrong i love this field but it is not set up for non electro guns lol.

as for the seasoned player this is a great field, its got a self fill air station (so no waiting in line) and games start 5 min after they end!

if i see you there give a holla at the Drizzle 7!!!!

Review: The field is open from, i think, 9-5 on the weekends.

The refs here don't really check for paint though. If you get hit. Get your friend to check it.

You can even show up and sneak in really easily w/out paying and they won't notice.

They have a few good fields though. They have one really nice airball field with an X in the middle and one or two good woodsball fields.

They don't have a proshop though and they charge a lot more then they should!

They also don't have a lot of food. There is a pizza truck that comes by, but it is not very good.

Not a very great field, but if you only go every once in a while, it's not bad.

Review: i came there with a party in hopes that they would come through, but this field and it's management:

OVERPROMISED AND UNDERDELIVERED.

I came there with a private party, and total with balls and partial rentals, we paid a total of $1200, only to be blamed for stealing co2 tanks and hoppers when we gave all rentals back. they told us we would have to pay $200 per incomplete marker, $20 for the gravity hoppers, and $60 for the missing tanks, and if we didnt we would be charged on our deposit credit card. Only after thorough searching and multiple recounting by the underaged staff that obviously need more education rather than refereeing, they found/came up with the missing items.

as for the management, or should i say, owner, he would not take responsibility for any charges or other mishaps that happened that day, and blamed it on the "land owners" and not the actual "FIELD OWNERS", or who you like to call Sherwood Paintball.

as for safety, it is enforced, except the self fill air.

i would only go to sherwood to fill my compressed air for free since they dont monitor anything, or walk onto the field for free since they dont check that either.

balls are expensive and dimpled out. $60 for Monster Balls. you can actually drive out down the block on Sonoma Ave to a WalMart 3 minutes away and pickup the same type/amount in a different box for $22! save your money and pick up these balls, rental or self equipped, cuz they dont check that either.

staff: kids that like to talk down to adults. excuse me for telling you the safety was on when trying to test out a buddy's not working gun. also, these kid ref's let some random 3 hot shootin kids onto our private game. so much for being private. Sherwood should hire refs that REFEREE and not CRITICIZE noob gameplay.

WHEN GOING TO SHERWOOD, JUST KEEP DRIVING DOWN TO THE JUNGLE PAINTBALL DOWN THE STREET BECAUSE THIS PLACE SUCKS!

Review: This field is really fun for beginners( and great if you're doing a private party because they give you your own little area with like 4 picnic benches and a BBQ for lunch and they're really patient with first timers) there's one ref there that was mean a couple times and hes kinda lazy but otherwise the refs are really nice and the owner even let me borrow a hopper once when I forgot to pack one and hes pretty knowledgeable with guns sso he can probably fix your gun if your having problems with it.
The fields are pretty small so its pretty much completely bunker 2 bunker the whole game. the service is really good and like i said before they're really nice and make sure everyone using rentals knows how to use the guns and the safety rules. the fields, although they are small, I like that sort of paintball. Be prepared to shoot allot of paint if you shoot allot, cus there's always a gunfight going on.
The co2 is like 5bucks for a 22 oz and all day air is ten dollars but i would suggest bringing in your own paint and buying the minimum(if you're renting) cus paint is like 60 bucks a case and 40 4 1000. Entrance is 20bucks but i would suggest going to paintballtickets.com and buy tickets from there if you're renting cus its super cheap that way. if you don't like the way the hornets play then you should really go by Sherwood for a friendly and fun day of paintball.

Review: ok refs dont do sh*t there. they suck. people starting fights because of bonus balling. Experienced players shooting little kids in woodsball like 7 times. paint is expensive. refs font care much. most rookie0. People wipe they cheat they dont play safe. there is an ice cream truck and pizza truck. it is overpriced. $30 and you play plus the charge of paint. dirty bathrooms.

this field is one of the worst in northern california. its decent if you bring your own team. sometimes it gets too crouded. if you dont like bay area you will hate this field.

Review: Paint is outrageously priced but admission is fairly reasonable, $20 all day.

I've been playing here for a short time and have had mostly fair-to-good experiences, today on the other hand I had a HORRIBLE experience that is inexcusable. There was a staff member playing that was shooting VERY hot and I am now icing my eye because of it. I took a face hit and it broke through the bottom of my almost brand new lens and I literally went blind in my left eye for about 5 minutes. I rushed out because I was practically panicking that I had gone blind and flushed it out with water the best I could. I then examined my mask after and realized what had happened. I talked to the refs about it and they didn't care, they said yeah I saw him shoot you but oh well. Not in my 7 years experience has it ever happened to me or anyone I know... Anyways, they allowed that guy to play and sure enough during the next game (last game of the day) he almost got into a fist fight on the field. What happened was he rushed into the castle and took out two guys while getting eliminated himself but refused to leave! Instead, he started to argue and yell at everyone and then started shooting one of the guys AGAIN! That guy who was shot again was really furiated, I could tell, he immediately told the ref and the ref told him to shut up about it. My jaw dropped at that point.

Anyways, I've had mostly good experiences with this place but the fact that they allow one or two bad apples to ruin the field really shows me the true character of the manager and staff. And yes we did talk to the manager and he said the Staffs conduct doesn't matter out on the field. For that reason there's no way I could recommend this field or give them a good rating. But for a brief rundown just to be fair: the playing fields themselves aren't too bad (They need to rake the air ball field tho), staff is usually pretty good, admission mostly fair, paint and supplies are outrageously priced however and sometimes it takes forever to get games started.

Overall Rating = 4 out of 10.

Review: Okay, Well I See Some Up And Down Reviews Here...

From My Experiences There, And Some of them have been bad...

Pros: Good Refs - Each Time Ive Gone, The Refs Have Paid Attention And Did An Overall A Good Job.
Good Fields - Woodsball Fields are The Best, But as you already know there is also a Hyper Ball And An Airball Field... The Airball field Gets a little slippery cause of all the un-broken paint that gathers around the Net bases for each side... GET A Rake Or Something !
Good Rental Equipment - Now Someone Said They had cheapy guns, And Yes they are a little cheap looking, and some of them had bent barrels and such, But just ask for a new one and it will be given... When my gun broke down, I let them hold it and they gave me one of theirs for free to play with for the day, and I got my gettin....

10 Out of 10

Cons: PAINT ! - Their Paint is Outrageously Priced... If Renting Sneak in your own.
Players- These Rookie children with rich parents believe in their minds that they are the best players in the world. It gets a little annoying when you get 30 or 40 of these people in a group. Some of these players are sneaky little butts... Put their hands up and start walking, then turn and start shootin ya... but, Guess thats a little my fault for takin my sights off em.
Game Times - I'd Like To See a little more games Runnin. 30 Minute games are good, But Maybe Some 30's ... Then 2 15's, Ya know... Quick Games and such... fun fun.

Overall It is an awesome field, Awesome Set ups, Great bunkers, Great Cover. Bring Spare Shoes And Clothes, If ya get muddy, It can smell bad sometimes, Usually I bring a plastic bag and stuff all my muddied up stuff in there. But GO there, Just to check it out, Its a good time.
