Ok, the field is closed. The huge scenario field in Dalton is no more. I was only able to play in two 24-hour scenarios but I swear my life changed! The owners/operators of this field are the nicest I've ever met. The first time I played their was back in September for the Aliens vs. Predators vs. Marines II game. Their are articles about this particular game in the December '07 issue of PSM (written by Bea Youngs, whom I met along with Rocky Cagnoni and Mike Paxson AT THIS FIELD) and the March '08 issue of APG. The second game I played was the annual Toys for Tots game in November. Both times I had a blast.
Ok, just because they don't have a field, doesn't mean that 24 Hour Games is closed. They are looking for a new field, and have no plans to just up and quit. They have a HUGE fanbase that will follow them pretty much anywhere. |

Just wanted to drop a note to you players that much like me count on others to help you find the best play. My Stepson and myself played in the Market Garden 24-hour game. I got to say it was the best time I ever had playing paintball. If you have never played a 24-hour game at this field take it from me it's worth the trip. We drove down from NC about 4 hours to play and will do it again. When we arrived around 10:00 a.m. thinking we would be late and there would be a big sign -in line, we were wrong, walked right into the pro shop, filled out the papers, got paint, and were ready to go in about 10 minutes. Nice people in there, come to think about it, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, ref's especially. I think we had around 200 players that day, which is just right for the 75 acres you have to play on. At about 11:00 a.m. we had a meeting in the parking lot where all the rules were explained in detail, safety first was the main rule, no drinking after 2:00 on Friday night, 280 fps day play and yes they do enforce it, we got a ref punch for being slightly over when the temp began to rise. Even though you will be playing against several teams which are really good, not to worry, your team mates will take care of you and you won't get shot up all the time, newbies and young alike will enjoy. Night game started at 8:00 which was different to say the least but after an hour or so it was just as much or more fun than day play. Again, the field, ref's, and missions, were fun play and organized with great detail, not the first time they have done this. Play stopped around 11:00 that night and restarted Sunday morning at 9:00, right on time just as promised. That's something you will note about this operation, everything is organized to the last detail and when they give you a time you can count on it. Best play ever, seems to sum it up for everyone that weekend so give it a try. |

Went to the Saigon69 scenario. It was a great expeirance for us. 5 players off my team and I went. Everthing was good the story line was great. Being the first time up there everyone walked us through everything we needed to know about the place. Really nothing to complain about!! Loved it,I will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***BASICS***
I was able to go to this field while on vacation during the weekend of March 11 & 12 , 2006 and play in the "Fighting Band of Brothers 2: Watch On The Rhein" game. I was a walk on player obviously and chose the German team as they were pretty well out numbered. The field inspected both the HPA bottles I was planning on using and gave me my ID card. I also received a map of the field with some scoring information and big battle written on it. The entry price was $60.00 for the two day game, and $15 for All Event Air. It was a BYOP Event, as are all of their events.
The Pro Shop was well stocked, and they had three vendors at the Event which added even more selection. I believe you could have found almost any PB related item you needed on sale by either a vendor or the Pro Shop.
The lines at the fill stations were not bad, but the first fills I got were only 3500 psi. That later changed and I was able to get them over 4500 psi every subsequent fill, and I have to watch my gauge carefully. The fills were very good all in all.
The chronoing in was fine. Three refs handling it. Three shots under 280 to get your card punch and be ready to play.
I decided to use my ANS GX-3 autococker because I was trying to save paint and not spend a ton of cash on it, As a result, I brought one case with me. However, even with the semi-only GX-3 I was out of paint by 3:00 pm. I went to buy some more, and found their paint prices *VERY* reasonable. I got marbs for $53.00 a case, and they are not less than $65 in stores and $80 at fields in my area (South Florida) The paint was fresh, and I was a terror on the field after I had the Marbs!!!!
The scenario was based on the Russian advance on the German holdings toward the end of WWII. The staff was friendly and helpful (Hoop and Jack are credited with this I believe). There were very concerned with safety, and emphasized it in the briefings. There were a lot of refs, but obviously on a field that large you probably just won't ever get enough. There was a small food vendor that served burger, hot dogs, pizza etc.
The field was a lot of fun. I did not see any big big structures, but I did not get over to the west side of the field except to walk off after the game was stopped for a break. They might be there, but I did not see them. However, there are a lot of trees (everywhere) and paths, roads, bunkers, and some buildings. I liked the field a lot. It could have had some more fancy stuff, but for good balanced play, it had a great setup!
***POSITIVES****
The play was good and clean for the most part. I only had two issues with people being bad sports during the whole event. There was some wiping and playing on (on both teams), but it was a very honorable game for the most part.. The people in general were very friendly.
Ther was a lot of non-stop action. One mission would end, and we would run like heck to get to the next one. GREAT ACTION!!
Hoop and Jack (organizers/producers/owners???? ) were concerned with safety and fun. It was well run in those respects.
***NEGATIVES***
Just one, and its minor. I would like a posted version of the scenario game's rules to be posted somewhere on the property. I was coming from out of town and did not have access to the internet to check the rules before playing. I had to use common sense, and that failed when some of my teams started to move a screen armored vehicle during the game and found out that was illegal. We all had to go check back in after we were ruled out by the head ref. No big deal, but I would not have gone and used the cover with those guys as they were moving it had I known it was illegal and would result in ellimination.
Another time I was the gunner for the "stick tank" that our general was driving. That means I have an imaginary tank (the stick) that the driver was carrying, and I was the gunner. The general, Mr. Black, was walking the tank down and I was following using a piece of rope tied to the stick and my arm to designate that I was the gunner. People were not familiar with the idea of not shooting the stick tank driver and gunner. It was mentioned that people were not supposed to shoot the stick tank drivers are gunner (I assume for safety reasons) but I never found out. As it was we were lit up by people that did not know either I suppose.
Not having the rules available might seem very minor, but it would make the games safer , and give people fewer excuses when they are caught doing something wrong.
***CONCLUSION***
I loved it, it was the best time I have ever had paintballing, and I would go every month to their games if I could! IT WAS GREAT, and not expensive! 9 / 10| Last edited on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 at 12:35 am PST |

The 24 Hour Games field is excellent. The game sizes for the 24 hour games that i have played there are HUGE!!! the last game I played there had over 400 players! The scenario was "Alien vs Predator vs Spacemarine" with 3 teams this game got crazzzy. Any way go grab a case of paint and sign up for the next game, even if you are a "speedballer" or whatever u wanna call yerself, you will have a great time. there is a good mix of woodsballers, speedballers,a nd newbies! N E way check it out you will NOT be dissapointed. This is about as close as u will get to being a ina war with out joining the army. Its a crazy and intense game... www.24hourgames.com |

Let me start off by saying that this place doesn't fit with the other fields in the area. This is a scenario field. They have games once a month, either 6 hour big games or 24 hour long games. They are well put together and are boat loads of fun. The games attract an awful lot of people which is a good thing(more to shoot)!! The field is really not a field but actually woods. These woods are full of trails, bases, barricades, bridges, creeks, buildings and so on and so on. Did I mention the size....75 acres!! That's right 75 acres! The place is huge. Safety is also a priority here. Every game literally has dozens of refs. The people are friendly and there is a paintball store on-site. The store name is Paintballs and More. They are fully stocked with everything you need. Also, the games are always bring your own paint. Just go to the website (24hourgames.com) and check them out. I guarantee you it will be the best time you ever had paintballin'!! The 6 hour big games usually attract anywhere from 50 to 80 players while the 24 hour games attract 100 to 250+!! I am not exaggerating, but over 75 acres it is all good! This place attracts them all from the speedballers to the woodsball and everything in between. Be sure and go to the forum pages to see the actual list of upcoming games! |
