The first thing that struck me when organizing our group was how helpful and attentive Dr. Williams (the owner) was. He responded promptly to any questions I had, which were numerous seeing as I had never played paintball. Groups have 4-hour time slots in which to play. During this time, they can play as many games as they have time for. There are five main woodsball fields and a sixth speedball field that is not always open. How the games work is the group is split into two teams, which choose sides on the first field. They play a game and then switch sides and play another on the same field. They then progress to the next field and play two games, etc... Overall, the experience was great, and everyone who went loved it. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it.
Saltfork paintball is my regular field but I'm not here to bash the opposing field.
I went to firemark paintball for a cusins birthday. At first glance the field looked some what bad. Altough after the end of the first game I realized that the fields were wizely made up. They offered not only a veriety of fields ranging from a full on woodsball course to a nice speedball like field that was very fun. I have played at about 5 or so paintball fields and I have paintballed sence I was10 so I dont consider my a weak one. The atmosphere was good too. The ref are nice and offer help to those in need. I encourage any one in the area to try this field out i dont think you will be disopointed.
I've played at one other field near Chicago - the fields were not as well designed, although they looked really cool online, and the reffing was terrible. I don't have a lot of experience with many parks, but Firemark wins my vote.
I've been to Firemark Paintball three times now and it's always a good time. Daniel and his staff are very concerned about the safety of their players, so their masks and guns are in top-notch condition.
They also care about the rules. It might seem a little over the top at first, but once you start playing you realize how critical this is. I played at another park once and had serious issues with our ref missing paint hits, shooting at players himself, giving out enemy positions, and generally just goofing off. None of that at Firemark. It's a straight, fair game every time, so you can work on your skills rather than trying to beat the system.
The main fields are a little smaller than the other park I've been to, but they are much better designed, lots of cover, so it's more fun to try to move around. They also have a full-on woods course in the back that's pretty cool. It has tons of trees and bushes and stuff.
A friend and I liked it so much last year that we shot a video for them that's now posted on their website. Check it out if you get a chance.
prairie view rd all the way down, follow the blacktop to the T in the road. at the T make a right and you can see the signs from there.
I am a scenario player, and I like playing in mainly wooded area. Firemark brings both the speed ball tactics and the wood ball tactics together on the same field. the is five fields, one is a speed ball field and one is in the woods. the other three are a mix with some bunkers and trees. The lay of the field is a down hill lay but that works out good because each team has to be on both sides. There is no netting between each field but that is a good thing as well, because if you want to have a larger group they will open multiple fields to play on for each game. The staff is very nice and friendly. Safety is a big thing on this field but because of all the new players getting into game and trying to play they need to be. They didn't have any food but they do have drinks. They also have staff taking pictures of your group if you want, the is a small cost for that but everything now a days cost something. Over all a really good field to play on.
Firemark is a clean and friendly family enviroment it is nice because they don't allow swearing or cheeting or anger they tell you this from the begining. Safety is #1 out there and it thats a huge plus for me and my friends. They have 5 fields 1 all woods and 1 airball and 3 mixed fields they are good size so you can play with medium size groups with no problem. Prices are good and refs are really good and they will talk to you and help you out if you have a problem they really make sure to take care of you. I would give it a 5 out of 5 all around. Oh ya they fill co2 and nitro so no matter what you have for air they will help you out.
refs were friendly, and fair. they had a good variety of fields. rental guns were great guns tippman 98s. great safety lesson. great for beginners and for pros. can't wait to go back to this field. I would recommend this field to others. set up to play elimination but you can play capture the flag if you ask
coming from fisher the sign wasnt there. i had to turn around at the stop sign and go back then the sign was there. its small. the color is blue and white.
This is the first field I played here since moving to Il. he has 5 fields. 4 wooded and one airball field. Games are rotated so the play doesnt get boring. games are played as fast as you can get air and refill your pods and hoppers if you want to. I helped out w/reffing also.if there isnt enough reffs, The games might slow down a bit. on a busy day I would like to thank everyone for a great a time. The safety is no 1. The safety meeting before game play is very good. The first timers should have no problems with their markers. Crono is below 300fps. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you are having a good time. He as co2 and has nitrogen fills. Prices are good. The last game was played at dusk. You'll have a great time there. Drive North on Prarie View rd out of Mahomet, and follow the signs.
Fire Mark is an outstanding field. I read that a lot of player were not thrilled with the roughness of the course, but think it really adds to the experience you will have at Fire Mark. The walk to the field is a bit long , but it gives you a reason to slow down and take a minute to rest before you start to play. If you go with friends it gives you a chance to figure out your tactics. The fields are large wich allows you to have many players on the field and not run over each other. The large number of spools, pallets, and other obsticles really gives you good cover weather on offence or defence. The staff at fire mark really work hard to ensure you have a great time. Dan and Star will actually talk with you and listen to what you have to say. All in all I could not have asked for a better experience after visiting Fire Mark.
level x- the people werent as nice and the fields were in pretty bad shape.
Directions to the Field:
go into fisher take a left on county rd 500 take it all the way to county rd 2100 and it should be right ahead of you
Firemark paintball overall is a pretty good field the refs were really nice and saw every thing so there was no cheating. Its pretty cheap compared to some places i have played. have 3 nice wood fields. All the equipment works really good. If you dont have enough people the will usually call some one up and they will come play with you. Overall its a really good field
Overall great field if you want to try something new. You have to call ahead to get a playing time, since the owner is not always out there. Would not reccommend to tournament players.
Parking - You have to park about quarter mile away from the fields. This means you have to carry your bags/equipment all this way. It s**ks.
Staff/Refs - All very nice people and very helpfull. They will help you get in as many games as possible.
Prices - they arent bad / moderate compared to other places. Sudden Impact is cheaper.
Fields - They have 3 or so speedball/wood fields. These are big fields made up of trees and spools and such. They arent great fields, but they arent horrible for open play. They do not have an air ball field.
Conclusion - If you want to try somewhere new, this would be a great place to go.
Caution - bring people with you, since there are not a lot of people daily at this field. Fields are rough, lots of roots and such just sticking out of the ground. For a begginer player this would be a great field to try out and go and have a fun time.
