Review: I went to this field today and it was horrible. I have played at this field about 6 months ago and it was like night and day. It used to have an airball field, although it was still small, 3 man was great. Now it has about 12 old stacked wire spools. It is now a place strictly for renters and first timers. The field used to have wood chips but now is a mix of dirt, mud, sticks and holes. The spools provide little to no cover and there arent enough of them to play for more than 2 minutes. If you used your tournament piece on this field you would decimate people and someone would probably get hurt. If you are looking for speedball then go somewhere else. Sportsmans isnt perfect either but is significantly better and worth the ride and the gas money.
Prices $10 for field fee
$10 for all day air

Review: ok, its not a bad field. i previously played at milty's, where its mud which is good for speedball. wood chips arent the best, but at least its not rocks. the bunkers are really good, and the set-up is nice. ya the air situation might not be too good for high end markers, but theyve got good CO2 supplies. the staff (arron and jeramey maybe scott ionno) are cool guys. i went my first time and they were incredably friendly. i later reffed a couple times. the field is a 6-7, the staff a 10, equipment 7-8, location, 10! you have no idea how bad it sucks bein a teenager in those 2 cities and having to go an hour to milty's! its a great step for those two towns. next thing is GRASS... but atleast the arcade and food are inside. great place to relax.

Comming from Jacksonville. . .Go down 17 until you get to new bern then you take the exit to get on 78 or what ever that highway is then its a few miles down on the right hand side
Review: The field was horrible. . .they put big thick wood chips down on the field that could seriously hurt somebody. They leave their co2 fill stations outside in the open, and the field is VERY small. If you chrono over 215 you'll probably hurt somebody. There is no proshop. Id give it a 2 out of 10

Paintball USA....about the same but at least the people we played against at swingzone weren't jerks
Review: Well a local team that I am friends with wanted to scrimage my team last weekend. so since we were all a little short on $$$ for gas to get to another field we all met up at swingzone.

We were greeted by some friendly people as soon as we got there and they gave is the waivers etc. and we payed for our stuff. Prices were pretty average except paint was a little but I just bought some Xball Bronze which was the best they had to offer for 20 bucks per 500.

The ref met us out there and was pretty non-chalant about the rules but I figured it was because we are obviously experienced ballers. When it came time to get my air fill the ref gave me a very hard time about not being able so see my tank hydro date even though the tank is brand new and in pristine condition. I thought it was very annoying but I passed it off as him just doing his job and it seemed to me that he was rather new to the sport of paintball and reffing/air fills etc. so he was just being overly cautious

When the other team finally got there and we were all ready to play some games, there was no ref to be found.... We sent someone inside to get him to tell him we were ready and He didn't want to be bothered. he complained about it being hot and some other stuff and got quite an attitude when we reminded him it was his job to make sure everyone was playing safely etc. and was getting paid to ref games. Though reluctant he reffed a couple of our games but we just ended up reffing ourselves the best we could before the day was over.

Field setup was great but the wood chips and mud made for pretty bad playing conditions... t

The field itself was fun and, like I said, a great setup with very good quality bunkers, but the ref was horrible and really ruined the experience for me...I doubt I will go back unless they get a new ref...therefore I give swingzone a.. . 5

Review: Played their first tourney that they hosted on Saturday 5/27/06.
Reffing was good , chrono on and off the field was a little slow.
They had set up a new air field for the tourney. Field size a little small but fun.
Definitely a positive thing for the New Bern area.
