I went to this field a while back with some friends for a day of playing. I had read a description on specopspaintball.com's game locator and it was described as a woodsball/speedball field. We got there and we had a bit of a walk to the staging area but no big deal. The field was pretty neat as it had some inflatables and wooden bunkers in the middle of the field and then woods all around. The games went well although most of the refs stayed in the speedball area. I had fun all day as we played a few games of capture the flag, one of a three sided match with mercenaries, a capture the base game. There was a trench running down one side of the field that was neat terrain variant. All in all it was a good day except for the last game. There was a speedballers vs. woodsballers game in which those of us with jersey's played everyone else. It wasn't even a fight, just target practice for the woodsballers......they outnumbered us at least 3 to 1, but oh well......it wasn't too bad, just maybe the field owners should have realized that would happen. All in all safety was pretty good and the net surrounding the field was in pretty good shape and chrono station was in a good, accessible spot. The pro shop was well stocked and they made sure that everyone had all of the release forms in order. Price was decent as it was like $15 to play with all day air. Fairly amicable and knowledgable staff as well. Overall it was a good day and I would play there again anytime.....| Last edited on Friday, June 15th, 2007 at 2:40 pm PST |

I've been playing at this field nearly every weekend for over a year. It is predominately a woodsball course. However, the owner/operator is building 2 speedball fields and possibly in the future an airsoft course as well. The owners are friendly and knowledgable. The staff/field team are helpful and very encouraging to new players and youngsters who may be a bit cautious about taking the first step into playing. The pro-shop is well stocked with everything you will need for your gear. They offer rentals and have everything you need for a great day of paintball fun. The field itself is rather large as you would expect from a woodsball course. There are several forts, a log cabin, fighting/fox holes, bunkers of several shapes and sizes, trenches, and the natural cover of the woods. Not mention a tank (coming very soon), land mines, grenades, and other mil-sim props. There is a home team which doubles as the field staff. tThey are there every weekend and more than willing to offer pregame tours of the field, encouragement and tips to new players. Often time they join in with the walk-ons and play along side them. The pro-shop specializes in Tippman products but also off various other brands of gear. If they don't have what you want in stock, they can get it quickly for you. At Long Branch Paintball you will find helpful friendly staff, knowledgable players, experienced teams, and an awesome woodsball course. The prices are very reasonable and the rental equipment is first rate. They also have on hand food and beverages for purchase and they do also allow coolers and grills for cookouts (no alchololic beverages allowed of course). You can book private games by calling in and reserving the field. Long Branch is one of the finest places i have ever played paintball. |
