Review: I brought my youth group here for some rec-ball as a private group. For a little extra, you can reserve your own refs for 4 hours or more, which is available at any of their parks. The fields were well-groomed and in good shape. This place has a field for whatever type of play you want. The refs are sticklers for safety and they make sure everyone speed-checks their markers before playing for the day. I think they check the walk-on group a few times, but I can't say for sure. They don't have much of a store on-site at this field. But this definitely ranks as one of the best-run fields I have had the pleasure of playing at. If you are thinking about going, go. You won't be disappointed.

I give it a 8.5 for lack of a store on-site but I'll round up to 9.

Review: First, I'd like to make note that I am new to paintballing. I went with my boyfriend to play at #1 in Tomball because the new one on Aldine Westfield (much closer) hasn't opened and I thought I'd share my opinion.

Pros:
I thought the facility had a nice mix of fields which made it easy for me to figure out what type of paintball I enjoy.

The refs were young, which worried me at first, but I came to realize that they were very polite and ready to help when needed. A young man that coudn't have been older than 13 showed me the safety proceedures and how to chrono my marker.

It was fun being able to play with a mixture of people, from beginners to advanced players.

No BYOP fee...that was nice.

Safety was taken very seriously as far as goggles being on as well as barrel socks.

The fields were nicely arranged. Loved the woodsball.

Cons:
You have to walk passed all the fields to get to the counter to pay...makes you wonder how many people don't pay since no one checked for wrist bands.

The man working the desk in the trailer tried to sell us an all day pass 8 minutes before 1 o'clock, when the half day price starts. I thought that was a little shady.

The main group calls were hard to hear and often the refs did not know where the min group was heading or what was going on. Seemed like a lot of miscommunication going on.

Some of the players were a little rude, but that doesn't have much to do with the facility itself.

During an airball game, the refs chose two team captains, who looked like their friends, and let them choose their teams. The teams ended up unfairly numbered and the "captains" didn't do anything to lead the teams. They could have done what they did in every other field and just count off as people walked in.

Overall, I thought this field was an awesome experience and would recommend it to new players as well as advanced. Still looking forward to the new facility being built though.

Review: Now im not trying to hurt this fields rep so im just going to go on what happened to me the first and last time i went there. Well we got there, me and my friend, and it seemed to be a nice place the fields looked good and were pretty good, well they could have kept up with their airball field a little better but besides that field everything else looked great! so we unloadd our gear and and went up to pay. Well the prices were ALOT higher than any other field i have played at.It is like 30 or 35 dollars to get in so that was kinda a bad start for us. The field paint didnt have a horrible price though. they didnt have a big proshop but what they had was decent, the prices were pretty good and stuff like that. the rental guns i dont think were very bad...I didnt use one but they didint look bad. They had V force masks for their rental masks. The field and facility wasnt the problem, it was the staff some of the staff people were nice and some werent. that is all i have to say about the staff. besides some enforced rules and some didnt. But the thing that i didnt like the most was that you werent aliud to play with parties you had to lay with a thing called the main group. This was bad because i was ewith some of my friends and they had a party and wanted me to play but the ref said i couldnt and that i had to play with the main group. So besides that i think i will give this field an 8

Review: #1 Paintball in Tomball (#1 PB also owns their original and bigger field in Cypress) is geared towards woods-ball and targets the occasional rec-baller and non-tournament type.
It's a great place for parties and private groups, and attracts anyone who likes to wear digital cammo and shoot mil-sim type Tippmanns....
The location is awesome, deep in the pine woods, but again it is geared towards woods-ball, for example: there is only one air-ball field and the bunkers are never inflated all the way.

THE PRO's:
-The prices are excellent, including paint which ranges in price from $45 - $80 per case.
-Creative field designs/layouts
-The Atmosphere. The people are nice and very friendly in classic Texas fashion.

THE CON's:
- Poor Quality Referees. The refs aren't paid in money instead they work to earn points, from which I gathered from talking to them, only amounts to free air and a 10% discount on gear. Since they don't pay the refs, they don't have much incentive to work there and when I went there was only one ref over the age of 16. The minimum age to work there is 13, and the majority of the refs are still in junior high and most of them don't have much paintball experience. They miss a lot of calls and a few of them didn't know their way around the park very well.
-Lack of Referees. Apparently they have trouble finding enough refs which results in big games of 50-60 players on small fields. With only two refs in a game that large, a lot of calls are missed and it can be frustrating.

Overall, if you've never played before this is a great park to learn the basics, or if you have a large private group then this is a superb park. However if you're looking for a good competitive game and you're not into woods-ball or mil-sim type games, then I would advise you to attend #1 PB's other park in Cypress which is loaded with competition.

Review: This place has it all is by for the best i have seen yet you just got to play hear to see for your self. Hear is a lest of what they got:

TOURNAMENT AIRBALL:
This field move's fast! Designed to hone your skills for tournament play, or just give you a great time that's always changing. There adding more of these fields all the time due to their growing popularity. They have the best Tournament Airball. They also net the tournament airball fields so that spectators can enjoy the game too.

THE GULLEY:
Here you'll find a great balance between a natural woods field, man made bunkers and open area. This is an awesome place with a tremendous amount of variety. Voted one of the best paintball fields in Texas.

SPOOLS I & II:
This is really two fields that can be played separately, or combined and be played together. There is a castle on each side and spools everywhere. You can even add the mounds field to make a giant field for large groups and add another castle. Players love the spools and castles and spectators love to sit on the benches and watch.

MOUNDS:
You'll have a great time running and diving behind the mounds and bunkers as you move in to storm the castle. This field gives you great visibility with plenty of places for coverage so you have to be aggressive to win. It's one of the best places to have your own paintball tournament in Texas.

THE CEMETERY:
Ever had the urge to play paintball in a cemetery. Well, now you can and not have to risk jail time. There are mausoleums, open caskets, monoliths, and, of course, lots of headstones. Its a great time and your friends can watch on the shaded benches. It's the only cemetery paintball near Houston.

INTO THE WOODS:
Welcome to Paintball in South Texas! The perfect place for Army and Commando play. We've carved out great trails, but left tons of cover. Great place to use that Ghillie suit and wait for the unsuspecting player to pass.

ATTACK & DEFEND:
This is a great field for Alamo style play and we're making it better all the time. One team defends and the other attacks. You have a great time, no matter what side you're on.

ROAD TO BABYLON:
The Insurgency won't rest until they've intercepted "the package." Whether you're ambushing the convoy or on the lookout for the Insurgents, your adrenaline will be pumping.

CHRONO & TARGET RANGE:
Here we certify all markers in the park to make sure they're shooting at safe speeds. You can also practice your aim on all kinds of targets.

CLEAN UP AREA:
You'll love there clean up area! Finally you have a place to clean up all your gear and wash off paint. It's even shaded with gravel drainage so it never gets muddy no matter how many people there are.

STAGING AREAS:
Plenty of tables and chairs in the shade. They have numerous covered areas so your group has a place to converge and get ready for the next game, or have a bit of lunch together. Let us know when you want it and we can have lunch ready for you and your group in your area. This is a great place to meet other paintball teams.

More to Come! They well be adding some exciting new fields in the coming months like Urban Warfare, an entire city designed by paintballers. Glass House, where you can see everything, but still have cover. More airball fields and numerous enhancements to current fields. There dedicated to delivering more and better fields than you can find anywhere, so keep coming and experiencing all the new and exciting changes at #1 Paintball Quinn Road.

Review: Hello all,

Let me rate the overall experience at #1 Paintball Quinn Rd Park.

Facility: Superb! Very nice fields with a good selection it appears. Clean tented Staging area with a Air Conditioned office where paint is stored. If you know paint you know hot is not how it maintains shape. Nice fill station.

Equipment: Rental equipment is actually quite decent. The rent Timpann products and sell RPS paint for those that would like it. Masks seem rather well taken care of and clean. Which is somewhat of a suprise for rentals.

Hours are great: Open tuesday - saturday

Personal Experience: I heavily disliked it. Let me explain. Although the equipment and facility are superb it seems that it was being run by rather young somewhat disinterested refs. There were no "groups". Games were run at random by people just walking on a field and yelling for a ref. Being a single player I was unable to join a group and ended up leaving after 1 hr and 10 minutes of standing around. I was heavily disapointed after paying the $20 field fee and purchasing $60 in paint. I did approach a ref and asked him what I should do his response was, and I quote "well just find someone and we will ref it". There was simply no direction or concern for individual player experience. I am still rather upset with myself that I did not request a refund, but after waiting so long I was simply to frustrated to care.

Overall if you are selecting a place to have a party or a large group gathering this might be the field for you.

However if you are an individual or small group you may have better luck elsewhere. I doubt I will ever return to #1 Paintball Quinn Rd Park.

Just a bit about me so you understand my perspective:

I've been playing paintball for over 14 years (im 28) I shoot an Ego. I've been a tournament player for 5 years. Now I play recreationally every weekend. I've traveled the country and been to over 50 fields easily. I look forward to the weekend as this is my bit of joy, I am very dissapointed in the lack of care presented by this field to that regard.

Review: Excellent fields...many woods, forts, berms, top notch...if you are looking for pallets dumped in the woods, keep looking. This field has the best staging area I've seen yet, with many tables, chairs, and tent overhead cover. cold water and you can order pizza and have it delivered. Air-ball is also an option here, if so inclined.

I was lucky enough to talk to "Trips" about the future plans for this field, and got to see the projected construction of a mega-fort called..."The Alamo". Unbelievable in scale, and the construction is more on the scale of a MOUT site, then on your typical wooden constructions in the woods. The acreage available for development at #1PB is going to make this one of, if not the best scenario fields in the Houston area.

Safety was paramount, customer service was excellent, the paint for sale was great, and it has one of the safest fill-stations for both CO2 and HPA that I've sen as well.

I'll be back, and I'm going to get all the other folks I know that play to come out as well.
On these boards I'm known as "UltraN00b" but on other boards I'm "xscout".

Review: This place was very huge. There were lots of different types of fields, if you like wooded courses they have lots of them, if you like courses with castles they have lots of them, if you like courses with random wierd stuff they definitely have them too, and also if you like to play on a course like you see on tv they have one of those too. There was a lot of refs to go around and you dont have to wait on anyone or anything. You can come with a group or come with a few or just yourself and join other groups, they have it all. The prices are reasonable and it was just a whole lot of fun with nothing negative in my opinion.

Review: Well, let me first go into techinical details, the field has wonderful hours, and open all week except sundays and mondays. Verry nice. Prices are verry good and I like how number 1 is getting fields all over the houston area.

well my story, we arrived at #1 today at 10in the mornin, the weather was nice and pretty with a slight chance of rain. By the time i had paid my $20, it was thundering and lighting like crazy. My team and I congregated under one of the many big house tents and shut the flaps and sat there for a few hours.

after relentless rain, finally at 1 o clock, they closed the field and should be emailing us rain checks at any time.

well, i didnt even get to chrono, but the fields looked top notch, and ill be back in 3 days to hopefully play.

will add more soon.

I give it a 10 for looking good and freindly reffs and employees to talk to while we waited.
