Review: Refs- Very precautious all friendly
My favorite is JunkYard because it provides various angles and it is significant you work as a team to destroy(plus i love playing snake)
8-430 on weekend during the summer they should play a few more hours
33 for admission and all day air with own gun
50 for admission and all day air with need of a rental
This field is BYOB which you just cant beat and they sell HEAT paint for 50 bucks
They have a store about a half hour from the field in paramus
Many experienced players and teams play here as well
Two full size Porta-Potties makes this field a 10
Food is good but way to expensive but what field isnt
I enjoy all the fields very much only because of the layout and none are too big or two small

also last time i was there they were working on xball and i was told by one of the staff members that xball would be ready by the third of april

From the Newark, East Orange, South Orange, and Maplewood area:

Catch Rt. 280 West which then becomes 80- Continue and follow until you get to exit 43A-B
Once there, follow where it says Mahwah (43B) which brings you to Rt. 287NORTH. Follow 287 for about 11 miles until you get to exit 52B which then becomes Rt. 23. Once on 23NORTH stay on for about 5 miles. Make a sharp right on to High Crest Drive. You're going to go up a very inclined hill so make sure your car can take a 80degree incline.
Turn right onto Macopin Ter. then merge to your left which is Northwood Drive. Drive to the end and make a left on Macopin Road. Drive about 2 minutes and the place is on your left hand side. 625 Macopin Road.

Total mileage: 33Miles
Estimated time: 40-45min.
Review: Alright well where do I start? The place isn't hard to find, pretty simple.
I got there at around 9:30am, not too many people were there but still enough to run a couple of games. Parking wasn't too hard to find. Once I parked my car and got settled, I payed the fee, which honestly, can't beat it. $33 for entry fee and all day air? Com'on you really can't beat that. The staff was extra nice. They even helped me when I was having complications with my marker. I had no clue what was wrong with it until I came to find out...It was my c02 tank. It's garbage! They even oiled my marker and everything. Staff has alot of patience and they seem to know what the hell they're doing. Since E-JAM is BYOP friendly, that is a bigg bigg plus! The fields were awesome! Junkyard is my personal favorite! I could play that all day! I didn't get a chance to play DDay or Crossfire but I'm pretty sure it's lots of fun! I only played on two fields, and those were Woods, and Junkyard. Woods is fun but the only problem is that you need a really big group in order to play because it's a huge field. The fields are well maintained and the refs are right on point. They know what they're doing. Everyone was friendly, I didn't run into anyone with an attitude or anyone who wasn't willing to help me. The people who play there are also friendly, I went alone and met a couple of really cool people who were also very helpful and could answer a lot of my questions, since I'm still new at the game. The refs are very strict on barrel bags and keeping your masks on at all times once you have past the net. Safety is definitely a must there and that's awesome. I forgot to put my barrel bag on twice and both times, the staff was cool about it, they didn't yell at me or give me an attitude. They were polite about it and asked me to put it back on. E-Jam is definitely an awesome place. Friendly environment. Very welcoming. Proshop is small but very well maintained. Staff knows what they're doing! I'm definitely going back even though it's a 40 minute drive from where I live. Everything overall was awesome, even the food was good. I had two burgers and some fries and they were definitely tasty. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I can't wait until the X-ball field is up and running. That's going to top it off and make this place an even 10!

Hopefully I can get some people to join me next time I go.

Edit: 04-17-08
I went again last weekend and again, very good experience. I took two friends and they're going back again.

Review: pros:
not to expensive
stock great paint
good refs

cons:
no airball field yet/wasnt set up
slow to get things moving
massive lines to chrono

experience:
So I get to the field real early this morning in the freezing cold, check in, get my stuff together and wait for people to show up. One issue I had was with the box of marballizer that I bought for the day. For some reason it kept breaking in my shocker and I was determined to play today so I brought out the A-5 to no avail. I'm not sure if they heat the room that they store the paint in because marbs usually shoot well with me so I figured the shells were just really brittle from the cold. I traded my last 3 bags for Polar Ice (the people working there, refs and all, are great btw) which shot much better without any breaks all day. The junkyard field is very fun and is reminiscent of ABCs speedball field without all the nonsense bunkers and huge uphill battle for one team. Castle was average at best because we were split into 2 equal teams which is not the idea of castle defense (fewer defenders, many attackers) and you cant climb up to the ramparts or the tower so its just a matter of shooting through a bunch of holes in plywood at the poor attackers who have to hide behind trees. Woodsball was awful because the overhang and brush prevents balls from traveling over 20 yards and the one game I played was very disorganized (walkie talkies refs?). All in all a pretty good experience saved only by the junkyard field. The airball fields that are adveritised arent up this time of year apparently because theyre excavating to make it tourney size. I would give this field a 9 but the fact that EVERY SINGLE person had to chrono after lunch (1.5-2 hours wait) was lame and the fact that airball/x-ball wasnt running makes this field an 8 or 7.

Edit: The Snack Shack smells glorious after 4 or 5 hours of play.

paintball depot, ejam indoor but they no longer own it. Paintball depot's field was ok when i first started. The price on paint and air will empty your pocket. Some of there fields are so far up a hill you dont want to play anymore. I have not been back since I started going to ejam 3.
Review: Let's see if you want to here negative thing's skip this review dont read anymore just go to the next review do it now!!!!! A friend at my job started to talk about the field he said it was great. So we set up a day go out there. We got there early so we got to park close to the field. Air is about 75 feet from the field ( for those who dont know that is really close). Great snack stand and good lunch at great prices, oh also great field shuts down from 12:30 to 1:00 for lunch so you can eat get restocked air up and not miss a game. The staff and ref's really give a sh-t about safty and helping in any way. I now know most of the guy's there all very cool. The staff knows paintball and how to properly set up equipment. I now only go to there store on 17n to get all my gear. I just purchased an Ion XE Friday the First, Saterday took it to the field had some problems with the dwell and rate of fire the guys helped me set it up. NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF THE FIELDS.... JUNKYARDDDD GREAT SET UP , GAMES GO QUICK BUT VERY FUN. CASTLE FUN IF YOUR INSIDE ALITTLE HARD TO INVADE BUT FUN TO TRY. D-DAY ONE OF THE ONLY FIELDS WHERE 12 PEOPLE CAN HOLD BACK 40 VERY FUN... WOODBALL WITH OVER 4 ACRES TO PLAY MAKES FOR SOME FUN SNIPING. HAVE NOT PLAYED THE XBALL FIELD YET DUE TO WINTER BUT I KNOW IT WILL BE THE SH-T BEST OF ALL IT'S BYOP (BRING YOUR OWN PAINT) 1ST CLASS

Review: Ok, being that i started paintballing only a year ago this is my favorite field so far.
It is the ONLY field that we could find within a 2 hour drive from NYC, that is BYOP friendly. PLUS the field paint at the store is only 50-60 for marbs or polar ice. And if that's too much, there's a pro shop within 20-30mins drive from the field.

Location and driving there:
If you've never been to this field, the only problem would be finding it. Coming down the 23 you're gonna have to slow down and watch out for a tiny sign that says High Crest DR, and then you have to almost do a 180degree turn (very sharp right turn). Once up that turn, just make sure it's not icey out because you won't get up this hill without sliding of the street. It's a VERY steep hill you have to go up, probably around 80% incline. So don't go on a freezing dry day. When you're up the hill it's a beautiful view of a nice lake, follow your directions and as every other paintball field you'll encounter a medium size sign that will say "e-jam" or something like that, then go down a one-way road, on which there's another steep hill going downwards, so watch out for snow or ice again because we went in december and saw some not-so-nice skidmarks.

At the field:
Once at the field everything goes easy and fast. You walk into a little shack, fill out the form and pay 33 dollars for admission+all day air(self filling stations). Games start as early as there is people that want to play.
I've been to this field twice so far, the first time there was about 35 people altogether. All walk-ons. About 30 people were experienced players with their own gear and guns. Maybe 5 people had rentals.
The second time i went there was about 50-60 people, one group of about 15 people(every one of them had x-7's and opsgear vests? was strange) and all others were groups of 4-5 people or so.
Games are being played all the time, as long as there is people lining up at the entrance the refs will start a new game. The most played field is the junkyard, the first field when you walk on, it's a very fun field to play. The castle is also lots of fun, it's assault so one team has to stay in the castle whilst the other attacks from up in the woods. (Easier to attack :P )

I love this field. Living in NYC going paintballing is a pain. This field is only about an hour drive or so, but coming home at night you're most likely to hit traffic on the bridge which is the only drawback. It's very well worth going to Ejam3. Personally, i like the fact that there are less then a 100 people, everybody is experienced and friendly, the refs are really cool and will help with everything, games are always going on and starting new ones.
Lunch is at 12:30 for half an hour, and no games are played from 12:30-1pm(which is also cool, you don't have to miss any games by eating at random times). After lunch, the first game played is usually the woods, about a 4acre field(one of the refs said) on which they try to bring in everybody in one game. One side of the field is a steep hill and the other is flat, fun playing both.

Idk what else to say, it's worth going here if you like a nice peaceful environment while at your car loading up and taking a break, but when you go out on a field it's all action with other experienced players. And it's very cheap, at least i think so.

Review: Since this is probably the only BYOP field within 1-1.5 hours of NYC, I'm giving this field an even higher rating. If they ever change their policy on BYOP I might just switch to airsoft.
I've only been here once, but will likely make this my regular field. Refs were cool, friendly, active in calling people out and flexible to which type of game most people wanted to play. Safetly concious as well, but most people seem to understand the maks on inside the field and barrel condom rules. They have a ref right at the exit to make sure you put your condom on. That's pretty cool, not the case at Cousins Coram. Yes they take a break at 12:30 for a half hour lunch, but I don't see we anyone should hold this against the field. Just coordinate your fills and food arouond their break, its no biggie.

This is a very walk-on friendly field; it seems to be their primary focus. I suppose you could bring a group of 15 (like one group there), and they'll keep you together at your request and just fill up the other side with walk-ons. Range of player experience, some 12 year old kids, some 30+ guys who knew how to play. No real attitude problems or issues.

This is a smaller place than Cousins, but they have a good variety of fields. A bit more on the close quarters side, except for a nice 4 acre woodsball field out back. Their junkyard field owns everyone elses, very nicely setup. A very popular field, especially since its the closest one. The castle is fun too, but a major challenge as an attacker. Same fo D-Day. I would recommend maybe building a few more bunkers close to the castle/D-Day forts as thatr last push as an attacker is like saving private ryan exposure.
Still fun though, just a suggestion.

Fills are easy for HPA, they have both 3000 and 4500 pumps. They are both self serve. CO2 is inside the shop, just push your bottle through the window. They only have one CO2 fill station that I could see so maybe there is a line if its busy. It was fine when I was there. FYI, inside the shop is not their Paramus store obviously. They have a good little shop right there that seems to actually have good stock and good prices. They match internet prices at the Paramus store, maybe they do at the field shop too. Their harnesses were about the same price as what I found at actionvillage.com.

Parking is fine, the usual rural type free for all. Get there early and you can park about 50 feet from the junkyard field.

Food is ok, they have a snack shack there they grill burgers outside and a small fryer for fires and chicken fingers. Not a rip off, about 5 bucks for a cheeseburger and fries. Decent enough food, no problems.

The refs all have hand held chronos, and there is a self serve chrono behind the castle field. The self serve chrono area is a bit ghetto, not really a roped off lane, just a table with a chrono with a shot to hell bucket that you shoot into. Not a biggie, it all works, it would jsut be good to have a little shooting lane where you can chrono, adjust your scope, twiddle with your marker, target shoot a bit and walk back on the field. Cousins has a good one of those.

The only other minor gripe I have is the lack of tables by the field where you can clean your gun and stuff. WOuld be nice if they just had a row of tables against the netting where you can put your marker down whiel the refs line upt he next game. The other small gripe is that water coolers and paper towel stations would be great. One of the few things I liekd about Cousins Coram is that they give you plenty of water and paper towels to clean your gear off with in between games, or if you have a barrel break etc. As it is now, bring a good sized water bottle and a couple rolls of towels and do your cleaning in the picnic area or by your car.

There are no lockers, but people left their stuff on the tables and it looked pretty safe. Otherwise just walk to your car, its not far.

BYOP rules. Flat out, even if the fields and refs were crap, I would go again. Thankfully neither is tha case, so I don't see why people wouldn't come here.
And if BYOP isn't enough, they don't gouge you with their paint. And its not crap white box field stuff. They sell Marballizers (green fill) and Polar Ice. The marbs are 65 per case at the Paramus store, or 70 at the field store. Only about 10 bucks more than the usual internet price. I can deal with that. Not sure how much Polar Ice is as I bring my own cases. Prob 55 or so. After the crap I shot at Shooters and Cousins, this is a godsend from people who actually understand good paint helps you have a better time.

I would love to see these guys grow and add some new fields. It looks like they know what they're doing and that they give a crap about whether people enjoy themselves, so I bet they add some good ones. Or some big scenario games or the occasional pump/pistol day.

Anyway, this is really the place to go if you:
live in/near NYC
want to BYOP, or shoot good field paint
are a walk-on/small group

The gripes about water, towels and tables are more suggestions than reasons not to go.

Review: i went here one day just to try it out after it being reccomended by my friend and it was evrything i tought it would be. staff is good. the firld are very well maintained and the prices are fair. i took my friend who has never played before and even he liked it there. there isnt many jerks that show up to bonus ball you (i did the bonus balling). the junkYARD IS FRIGGIN AMASING. the pro shop is very clean.
The only bad thing with Ejam3 is if you have c02. they only fill it in the store and i saw some guys waiting there for at least 10 minuts (but i went on a busy day.
Defintiley reccomend this field for beginners woodsballers and speedballers.

Review: I went as a walk-on midday (12:30 or so). Note that around that time is a 30minuteish refree break and there will be no games during that time. They had a food hut so I had some burgers and fries there.

pros:
* BYOP!
* price: $33 gets you entry & air
* A couple of fields (dday, castle, junkyard)
* Walk-on friendly. I was put together with about 13 other walkons for a 13v13. Only time I played with that many random people was probably QWTF 2fort5r :^)
- I played castle & dday
* The refs are friendly
* The refs are active in calling people out

cons:
* The refree break where no one can play. They should change it so that the refs take breaks at different times.
* no rental tube harnesses. They only have them for sell @ $15 for a 2 tube belt.

Review: Well, since the first day I went to ejam, I loved it. The fields are really good and are gonna get even better, refs are cool, safety is important to them and the hours are also good.

Safety are they are strict about this, which is a good thing. Fields are really good. No complaints at all. Pretty much perfect. Hours are I think 8:30 to 4:30, good amount of time. Prices are not bad, they are kinda weird though. $22 admission and $11 for air. I think it would be better $20 admission and $10 air, but whatever. The staff know their stuff and they are all nice and helpful. Tiger is good with fixing stuff and keeping everything in line and the owner is also a good guy. Refs, some of the best ones are girlfriend, beast, that other guy that looks like girlfriend, and all the others are pretty good. Food is decent and the players are mostly cool. All in all ejam is a good field, nothing really to complain about.
Edit: E Jam just keeps getting better every time I go, the new xball field is really nice, and when they put the turf down its gonna be even nicer.

Review: I have been going there since it was Ruckus painball. It is an overall good field. Its byop, so no outrageous paint prices, 33 bux entry and all day air. There X ball field is just amazing, and when that is not setup, the junkyard is like a "speedball" if you may.
