I have been going to CPP for about 6 or 8 weeks and I am on the fence as to whether I will again. The field is great as far as the look and feel. Interesting maps all over the place. Up until now I have really enjoyed this place.
Today the field didn't start play until 10 am, when it is supposed to start at 9 am. Not a good start. My real problem is that they played rec ball people against 2 teams of Pro's. They played them on the fire station Alpha map. You have 20 pro's with 300FPS guns shooting downhill on all of the walk on people. Sure, there were some good players with the walk on's but the rental kids didn't stand a chance. It is one thing to learn from your betters but this was not the case and completely uncool. It was like a live video game for the pro's amusement. The reason I say that is because they cheat. They wiped They used shields. Got coaching from the sidelines, etc. I shot one right in the mask, he ducked and like a miracle came back up without the paint!!! This was bad form on the part of the ref and the field. I know that the pro's pressured the ref to do it because he knows them and probably wanted to be on their good side. The better players on the walk on side were OK with the game until the cheating became obvious. Most of the players were pissed after the match and several packed it up and left.
Nice way to get new players involved in the sport. Nice role models those pro's were. There are no Pro's in this sport with out the cash and interest that the walk on's and amateurs provide.
Yep, I think I am done with this place. |

On the fence about this place...
~Refs don't really care what players are doing, they just stand and watch as if running in for a paint check would kill them
~Fields are covered with paint, sharp rusty things everywhere..messy sums it up pretty much..although work can be done to fix the place up i guess
~Speed ball field was actually pretty nice..had turf
~Don't know if this is true but i heard sometimes on slow days games wont start till 10am
~Manager seems like a nice guy <never really talked to him>
~They could use some more bathrooms, only a new portables
~Thought they had sold food here < burgers, hot dogs, etc.> but all they have now is a food truck that only stays for about half an hour
Overall in my opinion this place is living in the shadow of its former glory. |

Went out with some friends to check out the new fields at cpp. To be honest this is only my third time playing here, first in over a year. Wanted to see if what everyones been saying is true, how they are making improvements to the fields.
Got to say, I had a great time. Always fun when you can byop. Especially if you're using pumps like me and my amigos. Had a great day out there, huge group of walk-ons. Not sure if this is normal for out there but if it is then i need to go there more often. Im loving the new fields, huge scenario player and its almost like being out at Sc Village again. I like how they are adding shaded areas for the players, considering how hot it gets out there. Talked with Josh, seems like he is really working hard out there to make this a great field. Im looking forward to playing there again when it cools down.
Awesome fields, lots of players, good employees, just a little too far out of the way to make it my new local field. Overall 7-8/10 |

I have been to this field four times and have been unsatisfied by this field four times. The only soul reason I say this is because the staff there are not that smart when it comes to simple things such as filling up a Co2 tank. Almost everytime I get it filled they break it some how or they just don't fill it up at all. The refs aren't very vigilant on the feild. A lot of time times they don't notice that half the team has there mask off. I always ask for paint-checks but they never do it. I've seen many people cheat and I even do it myself because they just don't pay much attention. There also are no lockers or anything to leave your stuff without it being stolen.
Other than all of that you could still have fun there. The feilds are pretty decent but not a lot of woods considering that it's in the desert. the bunkers are mostly like cars, metal sheets, tires, barrels, etc. Compressed air fills sre easy because you do it yourself. There is a lot of parking places but it isn't clear where to start a row of cars.
I wouldn't recomend this park mostly because of the staff.

Dont even bother reading the review of the person under me they have obviously never played there and are just a competitor trying to hurt cpp's buisness.
Cpp is a great field
1 Staff: The staff are some of the friendliest i have ever met and they are always there to give out usefull advice.
2. Signups. The wait has never been a problem only a few people in front of me everytime i go. 10-15 mins max Although there are always exceptions do understand somedays they are busy but the wait would never be as long as he claims. (also they recently built another shaded area right over the line so you wait in the shade.
3. SAFETY: The refs are always strict on safety always making sure the inexperienced players keep their masks on While giving a good example of keeping it on themselves
4. FIELDS They have many fields many of which are being refurbished (ghetto city) and new ones being built (new wwII one) the walk can at times be tiresome but they are not that bad and the ref often allows a minute for everyone to catch their breath and what not. Also the turnaround for games is the best in the area. Im not going to bash other parks but honestly some have like a 60 minute wait between games while cpp is like 8 mins, just enough to get your stuff on. The refs even wait an extra minute to let the inexperienced players catch up and get their gear on.
5. Equipment. The rental guns are like rental guns at any place no better no worse and they are always trying to keep them clean but there are a lot to maintain and the inexperienced players often mess them up. Yes you can only use field paint with the markers but that is so they make sure someone doesn't use really really bad paint (like some crap from walmart) and cause them more trouble of cleaning the broken low quality paint. It is easier to just say you can only use the field paint. (if you talk to the manager josh(great guy) about using higher quality paint im sure he would be able to make a few exceptions, he just doesn't want to worry about the lower quality paint some people bring in damaging the guns.
6 PRICES. "I heard they lowered their price, but it is ridiculous that they in charge people to get in." wtf is this i hope you realize that as a buisness money needs to be made so they can remain open, thats the kind of ignorant phrase i would expect from reading the first line of your review. They are great with coupons especially since some of them arent even made by them but the old cpp so they are not making any money at all.
Cpp is a great field with great helpful people there who would love to see you come.

Ok First off, the review below is a bunch of garbage. You can tell that the person writing it is either an employee or the owner them self.
I have been wanting to play at CPP for years and just never did it. I decided to try it. I heard it was taken over by SC Village of which I like but not my favorite.
HORRIBLE PLACE TO GO. DON't PLAY HERE. THIS IS THE BIGGEST JOKE OF A FIELD EVER
Breakdown,
1 Staff: The staff is rude and does not care about you as a customer at all. They only care about their little inside jokes and constantly laugh at NOOBS when they see them. HEY GUYS REMEMBER, NOOBS BRING THE MONEY. I over heard one of the refs laughin at this guy who was renting, because he had BRAND NEW Camo's and went out and bought a ton of gear like chest protectors, new mask (Walmart) While it may be funny, there is no reason to make fun of him. YOU TOO WERE A NOOB AT ONE TIME.
When I mentioned it to the ref. I was very nice. He just scoffed at me and walked away.
2. Signups. What a joke. Well over an HOUR just to sign up and wait for some punk ref who doesnt care about his job to give me orientation of which they didnt follow any way through out the day.
3. SAFETY: While the ref may yell and scream like some 12 year finding candy, They do NOTHING to people who violate safety rules. HELL I saw on of the REFS on the upper field (The one where you have to walk a LONG way). His head gear was up on his head and one of the players made a remark and the ref barked at him and said he could do whatever he wants because he is experienced. ( I AM SURE THE OWNER WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THAT AFTER YOU GET YOUR EYE SHOT OUT)
4. FIELDS While the fields are not half bad, you can tell that they are old dingy and have not been worked on in a long time. However, the way the fields are laid out are terrible. TO LONG OF WALKS and Turn around time for games is atrocious. OH THE GUY BEFORE ME SAID THEY PLAY A VARIETY OF GAMES.. NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT EVERY GAME WAS ELIMINATION.
5. Equipment. I own my own equipment, However my friend had to rent. What a piece up junk. We all know that Tipmanns are known for their constant working through abuse, but the gun they gave my firend was garbage. It looked like it had been through 40 years of abuse. Not too mention if you rent their guns you HAVE TO BUY THEIR PAINT. My Firend could not use my Procaps paint which is 40 times better than the field paint they sell.
6 PRICES. I heard they lowered their price, but it is ridiculous that they in charge people to get in. They should pay players to play there. Dont ever go in with a COUPON. IT IS A TRAP AND THEY UPSELL EVERYTHING ELSE.
While they have good shade and decent parking, the bathrooms are sick and dirty.
Oh one good thing is, I will NEVER return.

I have been going to CPP since back in the day. Ive also hit every paintball field in the area at one time or another. With that said, I absolutely love CPP now. And here's why:
PROS:
*Great park-Huge fields- lots of different play styles
*Awesome Staff- Everyone there is extremely friendly and funny
*Shaded areas and benches
*Food and drinks
*BRING YOUR OWN PAINT. They sell their own as well.
*Rental equipment is good quality
*Music playing around the clock
*Really fast game turn around. ( I was exhausted by 3pm)
*Refs are very knowledgeable and play a fair game
*Lots of different game types: Capture the flag, respawn, elimination, Defender, etc.
*MASSIVE SPEEDBALL FIELD-7man, xball, and a hyperball
*new player and vet player friendly- they divide the new and the vets or mix it up so all games are fair
Cons:
*Bathrooms are porta-poties
*Speedball field doesn't have the turf yet (The manager there says it'll be completely done soon though)
* Xball and hyperball not up yet
As you can see the pros are a long list. Out of all the parks Ive been to this is my favorite.
A short story about my experience. I went to APP for rec ball and because of the sand my gun completely jammed and stopped working. It took me an hour to fix it. I played on another field and once again the sand got in and wrecked my macro line. I said screw it.
I wanted to see how CPP was after the new take over. I started playing there two weeks ago and I'll be there every single weekend. I can spend my Saturdays and Sundays doing alot of stuff, but CPP is a great relaxing day with alot of fast paced paintball games.
For new players and old alike check it out. Its a massive park with alot to offer.
10/10
11/10 if they get the speedball fields up 100% - lol

this field was recently taken over by Giant Paintball (owners of Giant, SC Village, Hollywood Sports Park) and sadly it seems to be going downhill fast. the previous owners ran a great field and employed some of the best refs at any field who put the H in hustle, checking hits and turning games around in 10 minutes or less. they also used to serve a great lunch of bbq burgers and hot dogs and cold drinks.
unfortunately alot has changed with the new ownership. through the grapevine i heard the cut all the existing refs pay and many of them left (which i can verify there were a number of refs i recognized from Giant's other fields, and almost none i recognized from CPP). i also heard they got all their rental equipment stolen the second week out. i guess thats what you get for screwing over the staff you inherited with the field. of course that might be good if they buy new rental equipment, but more likely they will import rental equipment from their other fields, none of which works at all. which is why i never would take a newbie friend to any of their fields. having your friends marker fail all day and goggles fog up all game makes for a freind who never wants to come back.
Drive and parking: partly paved road to a dirt parking lot. if your car is not an SUV you may scrape some on the way down the road. especially in the wash.
Price: varies by promotions $20-$30 a day for walk on plus air. house paint isnt outrageous but many of the rental markers are worthless.
Amenities: sparse at best. dirty porto pottie. shaded bench areas. no food. no running water.
Air: one of the biggest problems with the new owners is they cant seem to get their HPA to fill right. youre lucky to get 3000 on the 4500 hose and you will prolly get less by the end of the day, if it doesnt completely break down and stop working. i cant believe they didnt solve that problem after the first week. i dont know if i'll go back after getting such poor fills 3 weekends in a row with the new owners.
Chrono: they chrono everyone before the first game, but anyone can turn their gun back up and any latecomers never get chrono'd. i've never seen a random chrono check and guaranteed people are shooting hot. no one seems to care.
Fields: CPP does have a decent assortment of fields, which is the only reason i would think of coming back. they have 3 big fields, 2 smaller ones, and supposedly are going to make more, including an airball field. no woodsball which i would like to see. the existing fileds are spindles and tires and man made board buildings.
Players: almost no teams ever come here, which is a bad sign. lots of newbies and families and troublemaking youngsters in general, and a few (less since new owner took over) self-equipped weekend warriors. people on average are probably less decent than you'd find at other fields in the area. alot of former regulars are going to warped now instead.
Staff: to begin with they have 1 cashier to get people in, so some people end up standing in line for almost an hour before they can start. there is one guy that really gets an A for effort. his name is Josh. hes kind of a manager for the new owner and he tries his hardest to get the refs on the ball, but most refs are the same ones i hate from other Giant fields since most if not all the old refs and staff left after Giant took over. sad to see them go. the refs there recently take forever to turn games around (ive sat next to a field waiting for the game to start after it was called for over half an hour) and checking hits during a game is like kryptonite to them. youre lucky to get 6 games in from 10am to 4pm. at least when they call lunch you have about an hour to drive somewhere and get lunch, sit down and eat it, and drive back before a game starts. i rather play continuously all day myself.
i generously give a rating of 4/10 in the hope that they will manage to turn it back around and bring CPP at least to where it used to be. they should contact all the old staff and get them back for whatever they used to be paid, make sure their HPA works all day, and buy a propane grill and bbq up some cheeseburgers. |

Went to this field for the first time.
Safety - no one really checks the fps of the markers
fields - borders of the fields were not clearly marked
staff - staff was nice
refs - I was wondering why the refs were there they did nothing but count off the start of the game, any player could have done that. I got the impression the refs didn't know what to do.
players - Other people there were curteous, however there always seems to be one ahole at every field I go to. This guy felt it necessary to try to call us out for being off the field which we wern't and wouldn't get off the field himself after being hit at least 4 times. That goes back to the sad excuse for refs.
facilities - strait up nasty, the porta poties looked like they were going to over flow and there was no water in the hand wash station.
Will be seeking other fields to go to but may come back to this one if the new owners improve the facilities and the ref issue.| Last edited on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 12:49 am PST |
