Okay, so my friends and I decided to go paintballing on the 13th, and were looking around for places to go. All the other "local" places were way too far away, for example we didn't feel like driving out to the middle of no where to go to Bennets to play some indoor paintball. I hopped onto PBReview, and found a field I had never heard of: P&R Paintball. We decided to give it a shot, after all it was only about an hour away from us. Atleast we'd get to play.
So we found it easily enough, it's just a ways down the same road as the Fryburg Fair. Pulling into the parking lot the building looked very nice, a big clean white building with a big sign above the door reading "P&R Paintball". After going inside me and my friends gawked at some of the sweet guns hanging on the walls, and then we were greeted by the field owner. Now I have to say the people at this field are some of the nicest people on the planet. Everyone from the owner, staff, refs, were all incredibly nice to us and got us situated within minutes. After choosing our color of paint (as far as I could see they only sold Sterling rec paint, but it was fantastic with no dimples) we were brought into the staging area.
Man, this place was huge! The staging area was very big and roomy, with a couple tables to the right for us to set all our gear on. Directly in front of us was the netting for their 5-man speedball field. If your used to Bennet's indoor field, playing here feels like you just stepped out of a closet and into a normal sized 5 man field.
The ground had this dirt/dust like stuff on it, that was incredibly easy on the knees and great for sliding, and didn't stick to you. Much better then playing in dirt or turf, even carpet. I found how easy it was to knee slide on it in the first game, when I accidentally over slid into a lay down.
Not too many people showed up until later in the day. We were told it was a pretty quiet day, but they usually hold a League night each friday night for some fun.
Anyways we played all day, from around 10:00 in the morning to 5:30 at night. The field was fantastic, and half way through the day they even changed the entire layout to an incredibly fun yet strange fort-like layout. The BEST part about this field is the people though. Seriously, you will not find nicer staff at any field. They go out of there way to make you happy. For example half way through the day the owner went to Dunkin Donuts and bought me and my two friends all hot chocolate, completely free. That shows you really care about your customers!
All in all we had a fantastic time at P&R paintball. The absolutely only down side to the field was that they only filled to 3000 PSI, but thats no biggie at all since they provide you with unlimited refils. So to highlight some of the best parts:
-Huge, spacey indoor 5 man field
-Fantastic pricing (40 a case, 15 entrance and all day air)
-Great sand-like substance
-Nicest bunch of people ever
Also me and my friends got to look at the owner's Scarface Addition Angel, only 1 of 20 or 25. Man was it sweet!
We'll certainly be back, we just found our new home field.
(By the way if anyone who was there reads this, this is the kid with the ICD ProMaster. :) ) |

My son who is an avid paintballer and I went out to P&R today. This was my first time to ever do it and must say it was a blast! The P&R staff were excellent! Safety was always stressed. Speedball is the game of choice and there are plenty of people to play it with. Game sizes range from 1on1 to 8on8. The areana has lots of air bunkers that add to the entire experience. Prices are excellent- $15 areana fee and $40/case. Also the staff will make sure you are fueled up and goggles cleaned in between games.
I have to say we could not have wished for a better time! |

There isn't enough good things I can say about the staff here. One day I left my gear at home and came to hang out but the owner let me jump in with kids who have played in other fields and in tournaments to see if i could hold my own. But the point is he let me use his Angel Speed and let me put a case on account. The owner talks to you like he has known you since you were born. The refs are very good and will take hits for you if someone is over shooting. This field is good for all ages and skil levels. The owner will tell you if you play kids who havent played to go easy on them becuase he cares about paintball as a sport and wants newer kids to the sport to like playing paintball. The players who play there are all nice and easy to get along with. The locals take you in as there own. YOu should never be shy to ask for help or techniques from the staff. The bathrooms are well maintained and there is food in the front to snack on when you get hungry. The field is open some weekdays depending on the owners scedule. They are open every weekend from 9-10ish. They are open for the whole christmas break so if you happen to be in North Conway, N.H Or in Maine take your family here for a day for one of the best times ever. The prices are very cheap compared to other fields. The rules are enforced and p and r is a safe place. Once again I have to say the staff is a big group on fun people. |

Let me tell you a little story. i bought a automag off Ebay the gun new would be 1000+ with hopper ect. any ways i brought it down to Rogue to try it out. well the seller told me it mite need a o-ring to be replaced. so i ask rogue to air it up for me to see if it did.so it need one so i left it there.i came back a week latter wasn't even looked at.(ok what every they are bussy simple oring fix it will be ready next week)next week went down nope, but get this the owner let the "airsmith" take it home with him because it was more than just an o-ring. i was a little angry about him taking it home but al long as it got fixed. 2 weeks go by so i figured it would be ready.well this is what he said to me "well you bought your self a lemon" charged me 40 dollars for the time and o-ring kit. they gave it to me with all the pieces off and a few scratches on it. i was pissed. so time goes by and i herd about this new place.
P&R PAINTBALL
well i go into the place to meet a few friends bringing along my "lemon" to see what they can do for my baby. the look of the out side doesn't look to promising but whatever lets c the inside. now its a new place and not alot of income there but your playing paintball whatever. new nets and wooden round wire holder things you know. They have Air bunkers now there sweet my team used them for practice but any ways. i have been there twice and the owner is the coolest he talks to you like he has knowen you all your life. he spent 8 hours with me trying to get my "lemon" working. But it still wasn't working me made some progress but he is trying to be a AGD dealer and he will send my gun out and it will be rocking the field.
the place it the best indoors, air bunkers, the guy has been playing for years so he knows what he is doing he is a great guy and is open to new ideas. safety is top notch players are cool to. i cant say enough about this place. GO THERE SEE AND PLAY THE PLACE YOUR SELF AND IF IM WRONG E-MAIL ME ZA_HULK@YAHOO.COM SEE YOU THERE. |

when i first started playing at P&R i was pretty new to the sport. the first time i was there not once did i feel unwelcome and i felt like i was a local to the field. The staff were all really helpful and professional. During the times that i have played the reffing was pretty good and you don't have to yell for a paint check 8 times. Prices on paint are really good, a case is only $40. Also for those not familiar with rules there is a sign with the rules on it as you walk into the observation area. Ever since i have been playing here i have become good friends with the staff, and they have always helped me with gun problems. The course is all air bunkers and easy to change around for however you want to play. The loose gravel is easy on the knees and nice to move around in. there are always locals there willing to play with any level of player. even a new player can have a great time with really experienced players. There is a league night that goes on every week that me and some of the other local kids play in for a good time. All in all P&R is a great place to play. No matter what your skill level you will always have a great time here. |

The indoor field here is 75 by 100 feet and has a large prep. and observation area. His and Hers restrooms, Lobby with retail area and vending machines. The play surface is loose gravel and perfect for running and sliding. It is easy on the knees but much firmer than sand or wood chips like other indoor places.
This all air bunker field is the best training ground there is for speedball players. The close quarters action makes every detail of your play count. Every week end there is a small tourney here and the local players have been battling it out for months and everyone gets a little better every week. Lately some new teams have come down to check out the field who say they are pro NPPL teams. Well some of the adverage locals where in and held there own against this NPPL team. Now these locals have only been playing speed ball for about 6 or 7 months. So my point is: if you want to get real good real fast, come practice at P and R paintball in Fryeburg, Me.
If you get real lucky you will even get to shoot me.| Last edited on Saturday, March 31st, 2007 at 2:03 pm PST |

I have played at many places before that run their field as if it were a professional NPPL field and have no consideration for the players. P & R is anything but that. They are concerned for the safety and enjoyability of the player. I was playing with some younger kids that didn't all to have a good idea of the game of speedball and the owners just made sure that you don't bunker them or bonus ball them like in other fields were revenge is common. But if your much more advance than you are able to compete at a higher level of bunkering and faster rates of fire. If your new to the sport the field is set to semi only but I believe that you are allowed Ramping, NXL,PSP or other modes apon your request and the people your playing against. This field is a very differant but neat indoor field that is easy to adapt too and fun to play with the people that have been playing there for a while. The league night they conduct are very interesting and fun to participate in. Just a bunch of local people get together to play good ole paintball. Even if you are not to all familiar with the game of speedball or the quality of gun you will do well on this field. If your a paint shooter prices of paint are $40 which if you check around the BEST deal you will come by. They also have a mid grade for $50 and a high grade for $65. The paint is Sterling which I found to shoot quite well. The atmosphere of the people around you was a great feeling too. I knew these people for around a couple of hours and I thought I knew them personally after meeting them. My gun also
broke down which I got a little mad about and the people there were adjusting it and ended up helping me out a great deal on the gun. In the mean time when my gun was down the owner let me use his SCARFACE EDITION ANGEL a $1200 gun he let me use. I didn't even know him and he let me in the game with his personal gun which showed me they cared.
The staging area was really good amount of area. They have a couple of picnic benches with a bunch of seat for onlookers.
All and all this field is an awsome field to just have some fun. When I went there they didn't have any air bunkers which was a little downfall but when I talked to them they said a 5 man air bunker course was purchased and on its way to be set up. They have a 3000psi fill station for you to fill your HPA.| Last edited on Monday, December 4th, 2006 at 5:03 pm PST |
