:( Last sunday I had reservations for my daughter's 14th birthday party to be held at GAS. On the way to play at GAS, I had a suburban full of extrememly excited fourteen year olds. This was our second year to celebrate her birthday at GAS, so the ride was full of funny stories from the year before. When we arrived at GAS (ten minutes early), I told the young man behind the counter that we had party reservations. Then he looked at the book and said, "well sorry, we don't have any more guns and there is a 15 person wait, would you like to reschedule". I thought, of course we don't want to reschedule. Parents have brought kids to my house all the way from Princeton, KY. I drove around sunday morning and picked up kids all over Hopkinsville and took them to church with us so we wouldn't be late for our party reservation. Long story short, was he really expecting me to just turn around and return all the kids back home, tell my daughter the party is off, and go home. Yes, that was exactly what he expected. When we walked back to the car, the kids were already getting their gear on and we had to tell them the bad news. They thought we were joking. My daughter was not only disappointed but embarrassed. He birthday was no more than a car ride to Tennessee. I really wanted to throw a fit, but it wouldn't have done any good and that is not how you are suppose to act. I just thought about the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry goes to the car rental counter and they had his reservation, but no car. He said "anyone can just take a reservation, the important part is the HOLD!"
Come on GAS. You didn't even offer to put us at the top of the waiting list, a courtesy phone call, a discount for later, NOTHING. Completely unprofessional and insensitive. I understand that you are there to make money and I would have even understood if we were 2minutes late, but the guns should have been held until our reservation time without question. Parents beware. It wasn't the end of the world, but tell a fourteen year old that. At least the kids got to hear a good message at church that morning.
I will post this message wherever I can find a forum to post it. This was unexceptable. |

Good over all, just wish that they would add a third woodsball field or make use of the open area some how. The staff and reff's have always been helpful. The village is chalenging and over all a good time. The little woodsball field is nice but a little concertrated on the middle, other than that it is a good center capture the flag field. The X ball and speed ball fields are well kept and seem to be regulary maintained.

This is the only field I have ever played on, so I really don't have much to compare it with. I can only speak of my personal experiences at this field.
First off, I want to tell everyone how helpful the staff is. Not only are they always willing to answer any questions or offer pointers, but they have even helped fix my gun when it quit working. On one occasion, the battery in my gun (for the e-trigger) went dead, so I couldn't use my gun. They gave me a rental gun free of charge, so I could continue playing. One of the refs named "Mike"has always been helpful, and made the experience better for me and my son every time we went there.
The fields are all great to play on. I like the "city", with it's two story building and multiple bunkers. Two weeks ago I played on the speedball course for the first time, and had a blast. I spent most of the day there. The woods course is pretty good too, but could use a few more bunkers to hide behind.
The office isn't very big, but I have never had trouble getting in and out, and they are pretty quick when it's time to get co2 refills. The porta johns are reasonably clean.
All in all, this is a fun place to spend the day for adults, teenagers, or even younger children. You don't need to be afraid to take your family here for the day. I have played there with younger children on the opposing team, and everyone tried their best to help them and make sure that it was a positive experience for them as well.
I have never even considered playing on another field because my experience here has always been great. What more can I say? |

I organized a group event at Gateway Action Sports, and had a great experience. Never having paintballed before, I did not know how reservations, games, and pricing worked. The owners were extremely helpful in explaining everything to me, and were extremely accommodating in making our experience a good one. They were easy to get a hold of, and answered all of my questions.
The day of our event turned out great. Our group had a great time, and only played at two of Gateway's five fields. There was too much for us to do in one day. The referees, though young, were familiar with the game and did a good job facilitating play. Safety was a priority and treated as such by the owners and referees. The fields were diverse and well-maintained. The prices were very manageable for a group. The people working in the proshop were approachable and helpful.
It is clear that Gateway Action Sports is a young establishment, but has immense potential. They have a huge lot of land to expand upon, and I'm amazed at how extensive the fields are for being so new. The staging area has room for improvement in terms of newer or cleaner tables and chairs, but serves its purpose well.
Probably the best part of GAS was the professional service with a hometown, local feel. While getting a great paintball experience, we were not treated with the bored disinterest of a huge chain or corporation. We were treated as friends with a vested interest in the local community and how to involve the community's youth in a fun sport. Thanks for a great time! |

Paintball field on Ft Campbell. Some fields in Florida. |

Safety was of the utmost importance at the field. Safeties were everywhere to ensure that everything was going as it was supposed to. There were several safeties on each of the fields to call a player out and ensure that they were removed from the field safely.
The speed ball fields were in good shape. When the air went down in the inflatables, the safeties filled them up quickly. The village field was a bit muddy, but you can’t control the weather. All the fields were well maintained.
Prices were great. Lower than anywhere else in Clarksville even on Ft Campbell. Loved the military rates too. Prices in the shop for balls and accessories were reasonable too. Need to have more bottled water on hand as it gets hotter.
Rules were posted and upheld by the management and the safeties.
The staff was very willing to assist the players with filling air and CO2, answering questions and giving advice.
One suggestion: instead of just selling snacks, have a grill going with some hot dogs and hamburgers for sale. Most people make a day of paintballing and everyone gets hungry but doesn’t want to stop for a food run. Having food for sale would be nice and a good way to make some extra money. I saw some large propane tanks out there.
Also as the weather gets warmer and more players head out, maybe have more CO2 and paint for sale out there, they ran out early in the day, they did give out compressed air tanks to those who needed a CO2 refill which was cool.
Overall a great place and a great paintball experience!!

Gateway Action Sports was awesome!! It had several playing fields. The owner was very polite and nice to us. Safety was very important to me as a mother, and I was very satisfied with the safety. I took 6 young boys ages 11 to 14. The price was reasonable. The refs were respectful and great with the boys. I would recommend this place highly for paintball!!! |

Safety- 8/10
Refs made sure that barrel sleeves were used/masks down in areas where you were supposed to. Ramping is not allowed during normal hours. Only problem with safety is velocity wasn't regulated unless refs thought you were shooting fast.
Fields- 9/10
Fields were great, 3 speedball and one field of spools and 2 scenario. The "Alamo" woodsball field was flawed, because the alamo takes up most of the map and two choke points are formed on the outer edges(you could charge the hallways, but i never did.) The village was AWESOME. Nothing was rickety or rotting on any field.
Prices- $5 field fee, $13 all day air fills |

I have not played at any other field besides mine or my friends private property. However I have have played at a couple of little tournaments that our local County youth program has put on. These fields were put up and torn down specificly for the tournament. |

I took a group of students to this field as a planned event. I called the owners a month in advance to aquire prices for groups and individuals. The owners were very organized and helpful. There was never any question if they were going to make concessions for our group. The price for a group of 15 or more was $16.94 if the players had no paintball equipment at all. This was great for my group because most of my students had never played before. upon arriving at the field we were amazed at how big everything was and how organized everything was. this was by far a succesfull event for me and my students. James took time out of his day to have a Q&A session for all of my new players. The atmosphere on every field was fun! All of the reff's and employees were kind and very helpfull.
The fields were laid out perfectly. they were not so big that it took you forever to cover half the field yet not too short that you would get picked off before you reach cover. The overwealming feeling that I have about the fields at Gateway Action Sports is that this place is awesome! I love it, and will return very soon with more groups. |
