Well what is there to say about this field. I first arrive there with 12 people from my church. Everyone at my church is new to the sport, I myself have played for two D3 teams, and just picked up a new gun about 4 days prior to this day, so I was very excited to go out to some field and play. This was the field apparently the coordinator of this event chose. Anywho, we get to the field, and it's probably about the size of 3 of my rooms, and my room isn't big. I could hurl a paintball across the field and get someone out it's that small. But putting size aside, everything else... well... it was just as bad, if not worse.
The bunkers were nearly all deflated. The layout is GOD AWFUL. and get this, there is like a one foot high, concrete step up in the middle of the field, so the middle of the field is higher than the rest... why? Beats me (this makes sliding, and most moves, nearly impossible). Anywho, I get to the field prepared with my own paint. I get there and little to my knowledge, I find out that you can't bring your own paint. Short on cash, I picked up a few balls just to try and get through the day. The paint they had was stinger, not the best, not the worst. It'll work right? WRONG! The paint must have been kept in a sauna because I swear it was so soft it wouldn't feed through my halo! It kept getting jammed in my halo because the shells on the paint were so darn soft! So crappy paint, yeah it's another downfall to this place. The ref (yes singular) was cool, I suppose... he enforced the rules well enough. I got shot out one game and the ref never announced it though, no big deal I'm used to that stuff in actual real games, except when I stood up everyone decides to shoot me even after I was out. Not blaming the ref really, but he should've announced something. The rental guns (although I didn't use them) were also not that great, but what do you really expect ya know? Also NO ONE was there except for our group, they were all probably at Blitz seeing as how it's 100 times better and right down the road, so bring friends, or you're going to be mad lonely.
I give it a two, GENEROUSLY. and I mean very generously. and you can see why. |

ok, let me put it this way.... i actually worked here WHILE i was running 2 sponsored scenario teams and a sponsored speedball team.. all before they even put down their first dollar on any equipment... i gave them NUMEROUS opportunities to listen to me about what setup to use, prices, rental gear, etc. when i was asked or told about the idea.... hell, they even called it a "paintball shooting gallery" at first.
i was completely ignored.
so now, it is basically FAKE grass and CRAPPY blow up bunkers (if you could even call them bunkers) on what was once a go cart track, that was once where they had a giant sling shot, that was built where they used to have bumper boats (concrete filled in). now it is basically a peanut shaped ring with a big step up in the middle, with what i wouldnt even call an airball field's worth of bunkers.
i havent gone back, but i wouldnt be surprise dif the pricing and pant were both crap.
tell ya what, go about 1/2 a mile up to bearss and go to blitzkrieg, or go to jungle games, or go to orbital, or anything... just dont waste your time here. |

Now i am going to tell you something: I NEVER PLAYED ON THE FIELD!
But i and friends were going to play the reason we didnt was:
No Woodsball. Yep. None.
Basically it was Hyperball.
I talked to a Paintball rep there and they said it was nothing like a REAL PAINTBALL AREA.
They said if you want great paintball go to a DEDICATED PAINTBALL FIELD.
Safety: 10/10
Rating: 5/10 (no woodsball removed 5)
Refs: 7/10 (we watched a few games) |
