Review: I have never played at any other air ball field, so this one is gonna be a little one-sided.

the referees get right into the games, the chrono is 275 or below, the paint is cheap($55 for myself to play on a Friday night), they do not have food facilities, only soda and Gatorade, but there is a carls jr. right down the street. the pro shop is whatever the cashier can tell you about your marker, but the most they could offer is tools to use. there is only 2 fields to play on, one completely indoor, and one with a quasi roof over it. this field is great for beginners(like me), because not to many people know about the field right now(so there are more noobs to shoot!).

I give Vallejo indoor a 7 because they are just starting, there are only 2 fields(hopefully right now), should your marker break, you are the only person(most likely) that knows how to fix it, and people show up on Friday nights, not Sundays(last time i was there.).

Review: This place is alright. it's kinda' small, but heck, if you gotta play and it's raining, this is the place to go. It's not cheap, but then again, what indoor place isn't. The "regular" players there are mediocre at best, but they talk big like they're some kind of pros. Most of the people that were there were beginners. That's probably why. They have great beginner equipment for rent. Sometimes, there are only 10 people playing there. I even went there once and there were only 3 people there. That's why I've only played there once. There's never anyone there to play with.

Sherwood - better for new players or recballers. Outdoors, so subject to weather.
Directions
to the Field:
Directly across the street from Six Flags Marine World (or Discovery Kingdom, whatever it's called). Turn into the Vallejo Fairgrounds and follow the road to the left aaalll the way into the back to a gravel road. There should be "paintball" signs.
Review: The owner also owns a field in Davis where i occasionally ref, but i'll try to be as non-biased as possible. Also, the one time i played there, it was a private party for one of my friends. There were only 2 walk-ons there and we let them join us.

FIELDS - There are 2 fields here, one competely indoors (airball) and the other is well-covered but not 100% indoors (didn't get a good look at that one, though).

The indoor one is a good 5-man size and the setup that day was pretty decent - neither side held an advantage and the snake, although a killer in any setup, wasn't designed to be a game-ender if anyone made it there.

SAFETY - Netting is liberally used, which is good. The refs and the dude who runs the booth (i think his name is Matt, i knew him from the Davis field) all made sure people followed the basic safety measures, like mask on behind the netting and barrel covers on in the staging area, parking lot, etc.

PRICES - for an indoor field, incredibly reasonable. They now allow byop, with the only requirement being the fill is white. Even then, they sell Karnage Bite for $35 a case. Entry & air is pretty standard, $20-ish total. Not sure what food/drink options they have. I had brought my own drinks plus there's a Carl's Jr and quickie mart down the street from the fairgrounds.

SERVICES - no shop on site so services are limited to the knowledge of the current staff & available tools, which is true for most fields.

FACILITIES - men's & women's bathrooms right outside the staging area barn. Thank jeebus, no port-o-potties.

PLAYERS - not much to comment on, since everyone was a friend or family member except for the 2 walk-ons but they were really cool.

I've been waiting for a good, inexpensive indoor field to open up nearby. Although it's still an hour from my house, i've got tons of family out there, which makes it seem more convenient. And i'm already familiar with the owner & some of the staff. Even better.
