Not in area, but Pine River Paintball and the one in Charlotte - can't remember the name
Directions to the Field:
Northeastern Macomb County; Gratiot and 28 1/2 mile
Played for the first time at my new 'home course' (I live three miles away), and left very impressed overall. Family run field, very friendly and knowledgeable. Three courses currently set up: X Ball/speedball(I am not a fan, but only because I suck; the course was good); spools course, and a small woods course. They are actively looking to expand.
Very safety concious with respect to masks and barrel covers. Allowed you to pick head shots count or not.
Free rental (very nice Tippman guns, three pod belt pack, mask), $10 all day air, $15 for field fees, $35 for a case of really good paint. Cannot beat the price or the value. . We started set up at 10 am and had the field until 5 pm.
Snacks were available, drinks were available.
Ref's were not overbearing and were open to suggestions.
Courses were ideal for 4-7 man teams. Very nice woods course; small but decent cover for smaller groups.
Had three refs available which allows for utilizing each field at the same time. This would allow for larger groups to enjoy this location as well. We had a kids birthday party, so we split the little guys up after a couple games and played with just the adults on one course while the kids played another.
Plenty of staging area, break areas, and parking.
The best value in paintball. I can't wait to come back. When they get approval to expand this will be the best course I have played at. What really works about this field is group size doesn't matter; smaller groups can all play on the same field; larger groups can split up and play on the different courses.
28 and a 1/2 mile road and gratiot in lenoix twp. its kinda hard to miss since there is a huge green and white sign that says: SALT RIVER PARK and uner that sign there is a banner that says: PAINTBALL whith their phone number and other details with are on there website. And for the people that grew up around here during the 70's and 80's its the same place where the year round fairgrounds were. You pull in and take their long dirt drive way, across a small bridge and pull up next to one of the picnic tables/mini staging areas.
i LOVE it there. For the concerned parents out there, They are VERY strict on safety. They have a mellium or giant wooden spool field on one field,a X-Ball field, and a small woodsball field. They are only open on weekends from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. but nobody really comes on Saturday, only on Sundays. Their prices are $15 for all day,$10 for all day air, rental equipment is not expensive but i wouldn't know somewhere around $10,but they rent out nitro tanks. and paint for $34 per case of 2000. The rules are pretty basic, cant shoot over 285,no ramping, they suggest you don't bunker smaller kids ect.
sevirces include small repairs on guns and little stuff like that, they don't have a pro shop witch is a bummer. but the staff is really small, but the whole thing is family owned and operated, witch makes getting to know them easer, witch i have done. The refs aren't
all that lazy, but missed some obvious calls from time to time. the bathrooms are made of a series of 10-12 port-o-potties, witch are a bit on the ancient side. They have chips, candy bars gartoraid and monster there, and 2 or 3 times a day miss.Elayne will go to little creases or McDonald's and buy every body pizza and cheese burgers for everybody and sell them for $1.35. All in all, you will find me there every Sunday there open living paintball to its fullest. best place iv ever seen
