The field is a great woods ball field. They have speed ball field also. The owner is a great guy and they always have refs for the games. No field fee is nice. It is a field paint only which there paint starts at 40.00 a case not bad. They are only open on Sat. for walk on play. Sundays is there practice day. You can also reserve the field for parties on Sat or Sunday. Great place to play.
Love this field. I have played at other paintball fields but I think Predator is by far the best. Reasons why:
Friendly- All the people there are very friendly. The players range from new to experienced team members. The first time I played there it was like I had been there all the time. Everyone talked, laughed and played together like a bunch of friends that knew each other forever. I felt very welcomed and that is different from other places I had played.
"kill zones"- The kill zones at Predator are from the head to the waist. Very cool. If you get hit in the arm, leg, hand, foot, or gun you are still in the game. This makes the game last longer so you get more play time vs sitting out just for getting hit in the foot or something like other fields do.
Safety- They really care about safety. The refs go over the rules before play begins and they enforce the rules. The guns are cronoed before play so everyone is on the same level. They have several refs out there and they are fair to everyone.
Field- The playing field is definately woodsball. They have about 10 acres and there are bunkers, towers, a city, lots of woods and natural bunkers. You can fight deep in the woods or have a close battle within the city. You just never know where all the action is going to take place so you must be on your toes at all times.
Shop- They have a shop that sells paintballs, guns, and other accessories you may need. They fill CO2 tanks and HPA so whatever you have they can take care of it. They also rent out equipment so if you don't have everything you need they can take care of that too.
These are just some of the things I like about this field. Each time I have gone there it has been lots of fun and you walk away at the end of the day just waiting for the next time you can go out there and play. If you like paintball and are looking for a great place to play check out Predator Salisbury. If you are younger, older, male, female it does not matter because everyone plays together as teams. Very cool field.
I have played at Carolina Paintball Park in China Grove. CPP is a great field for speedball but Predator is a great woodsball field.
Great bunch of regulars that love the sport. The field reffs are very good and right on top of calls (one even reffs for the CFOA). The field store is well stocked with a mix of speedball items and woodsball items. Paint is always fresh and is some of the best on the market today (Draxxs).
Store is able to fill HPA (4,500) and CO2. There is no field fee and the prices on paint and air are great. Safety is a top priorty. All markers all crono'd before play for FPS and BPS. Ramping is allowed but at 15bps.
For any player that is first time out rules are modified to protect them (no bunkering, and no shooting under 20 feet).
The regular players at the field are not stand offish or rude. They help you out all they can.
I have been playing paintball at Predator Paintball Field- Salisbury now for 2 years. After stepping away from the game shortly after high school and brass eagle pump guns, I was brought back to the sport by co-workers that were regulars at Predator Paintball. I had heard horror stories of high prices, cheating, fights and all around negativity at other fields from friends. They convinced me this field wasn't like that, and 2 years later, I can say that that it is still a correct statement.
Predator Paintball-Salisbury is a 10 acre field. The field is large enough to make moves unseen but small enough to force the action. Sitting in a corner and hiding for the duration of the game is not an option. The focus of the field is 100% woodsball, but is friendly to every style of player. The wooded areas are dotted with bunkers and other building/structures. There is a small "Airball" field that is used within the playing perimeter.
There is no field fee for playing and rental equipment is available. The field shop carries a large selection of Draxxus paint and air/CO2 for a fun day of playing. A selection of upgrades and maintenance parts are sold as well. All for very fair prices in todays market. The customer service inside the shop is excellent and the techs are very knowledgeable.
Games start rolling off around 12 o'clock and last until 5 p.m/dark. There are several formats for games used during the course of the day. The most common games being 20 minute last man standing and capture the flag. The overall level of play at the field is intermediate but is new player/beginner friendly. There are no attitudes and playing can be a fun day for the family. Normally there are 2-4 referee's on the field at all times, calling a fair game. Cheating is not tolerated and safety is a top priority.
I would suggest this field to anyone looking for a fun day of recball in the woods.
