Review: Safety the netting around the speedball field are blowing from wind so to take action we wear our masks at that time. Pop's and the team are very strict on safety it's his responsibility to make sure everyone has fun but he works one step ahead by helping others stay safe. They have rules like the 15 no shoot rule for guys and 20 for girls. They enforce a rule you must see the taget to shoot the target.

Fields hours of opperation the hours of opperation are great Tuesday to Sunday 8- 5 and he will stay open longer if the place is bussy.

Price You may think Pop's price for a gun is high but what if i told you that if you buy one from him you can waive your field fee for as long as you have the gun. field fee 5 dollars. air tank rental 5 dollars all day air 5 dollars 1/2 case of stingers 27.50 for me i go there and use 40 dollars (i bought a gun) that is alot cheaper than past experiences.

Rules 15 no shoot rule for guys 20 for girls. Must have goggles on in field area.

proshop SSP has a great pro shop gear guns parts and CERTIFIED airsmiths and help with not working guns.

Staff well what other can i say then great Pop's is the most caring field owner to safety and prices sometimes the prices are so low its seems he does not make a profit. And being a Vietnam vet he is determined person he worked for 2 hours get a unthreaded screw out of my gun yea and guess no work fee
Pete the concession guy live about a foot from the place always there and always cooking great food and a really funny guy.
Sean {Pop's son} helps with everything you need to know also helps manage the team.

Reff's always there and safety is there main key.

Everyone that goes there is always nice trust me you wont see a 10 year old kid running around with a new 08 ego there hard working people that play here and always there are no cheaters.

Facilities there are porter poties which are very clean always proshop shelter house

Food Great pete makes all the best stuff they always have large pizza's to make if asked

Review: My husband got me involved in the sport of paintball and I am addicted. We have been to a couple other fields and I was beginning to wonder if there was a place out there where a person could just go have fun without someone telling you, you have to join this group, you have to go here, you can't go there. Pop's runs the place real nice and neat. Everyone there is super nice, and this is one of the best places we have played.
We were getting real tired of playing at junky, under-run establishments. Pop's place is clean, well organized and the food is great. It's also affordable. We will certainly be back as soon as the weather allows.

Review: Alright first off I'm going to have to say that Pop(owner) is one of the greatest people I know in the paintballing business. I know countless times he's either helped me out or one of my friends out for free. The other day I took a friend there to get some equipment for his gun. So Pops gave me free air all day without the purchase of paint. I had about two cases left over from last time, this is why I was happy.
Lately when I have been there we haven't had any actual refs. Usually there were just uneven teams so one out of our group would ref the game, and his rules are strict. What's nice is that everyone there knows them. A video is required to be watched by first time players at the field. Usually everybody has each others backs and reminds each other when they're accidently breaking the rules. Say for instance not using a mask while chroning gun is a big one.
As far as his prices go. It's the cheapest cases of paint I have ever seen at a paintball field. His prices for upgrades and whatnot are not retail prices, but I mean give him a break he's got to make the money somehow. Pops will put your gun up for display if you want to sell it.
As far as the food goes. He has this guy in there that makes it all and sells it to us. I wish I knew his name, but I don't. He makes really good chili, and his hotdogs are nice and big. I've had his nachos with cheese also, and I thought those were just as good. Pops sales gatorade for one dollar, and what I think is awesome is that he sells bottled watter for 50 cents.
If you're looking for a good time then SSS is the place to be. Not only a good time but it also can be a competitive time as well. Since I live close by I plan on being there a lot. Maybe every other weekend and sometimes during the week. I encourage everyone to make it out to SSS. You won't be disappointed.

Review: Alright lets start things off.
Im one of those guys who loves to play the sport. I dont make a lot of money and im a die hard paintball player. At the spur the prices are outstanding. Its a $5 field fee, $5 for all day compressed air, and $5 to rent a c/a tank. Theres countless guns up there for rental for the day. Its only $15 to rent but you gotta use their paint they sell there. Thats really good compared to the prices of a lot of places ive seen. Theres 7 fields up there and for $5 to play all day thats an awesome deal. The hours there are great to Wednesday-Sunday from 9-5. The reffing was alright, just some guys that were sitting out jumped in and reffed the games we had played in. Some of the players got to mouthy at times and dissin other players cuz of their guns. The guy that owns the place is Pops, is an all around great guy. He knows exactly what hes doing there. Me and a friend went up there one day and it got hot so we went inside the pro shop and sat down and talked with pops for awhile about his business and about the up coming scenario game there. The food there is great, i cant ive had anything better then what they serve up there. The prices in the pro shop for masks, pod packs, barrels, body kits gun upgrades, etc. are a little high but you have lifetime warranty when you buy guns and high price gear there. He didnt have many new guns for sale when i was there, just a couple ions and a mini plus a used evil omen, but im sure if you would ask pops he could order one for you. All in all its a great field for any player with any expierience level. Well happy painting to all players.

Treehugger's - I definitely think Silver Spur is better than Treehugger's.
A friend's woodsball course in Seelyville - Can't really compare, I have to drive to Princeton for good speedball.
Directions
to the Field:
Easiest way to get there is to take US41 to the intersection that sits next to the TrueValue and Case III dealership and head West. Can't miss it.
Review: Safety - More netting than some of the courses I've seen, but it still needs work. My girlfriend took a rogue ball sitting at one of the picnic tables. If it had hit her face, I would have come unglued. Mask rules are enforced in designated areas.

Fields - A standup speedball course, a regular one, a Hyperball course, an indoor course, a Fort type, uphill course, and an uphill town course. All were excellent.

Hours of Operation - Open everyday except Mondays and Tuesdays, not bad.

Prices - Field fee of $5 waived if you purchase paint, all-day HP AIr is also offered. Great prices.

Rules - For the most part, rules are enforced to a "T".

Services - I truely believe that Pops places his customers best interests first and foremost. If you aren't having fun, it's his problem.

Proshop - Great selection, but they tend to run heavy on Ion merchandise.

Staff - All were friendly and courteous.

Refs - The referees were friendly and MATICULOUS! I mean, the way they checked me for a hit, I almost thought the guy owed me dinner. lol (A joke)

Players - Like any other field, no matter what you do, you can't keep the retards and asshats out. That's why God gave us ramping to bonus ball those tards, right?

Facilities - Clean, very nice, but netting really needs to be addressed.

Food - The best food I've ever had from any concession stand type establishment. Prices were low, too.

Review: I loved it, first time ever goin to this field. it was amazing the people there are real friendly. the staff is amazing, thanks Pops for working my gun and fixing it. i plan on starting to go there a lot more often and some time in the near future taking the ref course thats offered there.

shop had an excellent selection of items to choose from. Seans team and himself were really great players they got a good future ahead of them. so I wish them good luck.

Food was the best i've had in a long time. sloppy joes beats anyones i've ever had. pricing on the equipment and misc. items was reasonably fair.

Review: I mostly woodsball in a woods two miles outside of Washington so I rarely go to SSS. THe first time was when they had more teams sponsored and had them as refs. The ref that was always with us got bored and left which left the door wide open for a ton of cheaters. Which is what happened. Still had a blast though.

THe second time i was down there my friend dropped off my cocker so they could fix it. They did, we walked the field and left.

I went again today to play with Sean and his team. They kicked our butts but they were a great group of guys so we had a blast. We were soposed to leave around noon but we got home after 6. Guys trading and trying out each others guys, loaning gear, giving each other tips, its was a great day.

The proshop/store they have is always great. Tons of parts, handful of guns for sale(like Seans custom Shocker). Pops is great. Every time I've went hes helped somone out for free. Every time I saw him he was making sure people were havin fun. He even came out after a game to make sure we were doin fine.

The field has a hyperball field and two speedball fields made of spools, crates, and some wood plates. THe air ball fields are inside a shed they made, i didnt go to that though. The Alamo was a base with bunkers all around it as well as some weeds that could be used for ambushes or other sneaky manuevers for either team. Across the way from that is the 'town' with a ton of 3-sided buildings with windows cut out. Thats always interesting because somtimes you forget the windows are there while your playing a wall, or vis versa. Theres a 'courthouse' in the center with about 5 seperate rooms in that. The woods field is across the train tracks. Its alright because even though its rather open(as far as soft cover goes) it has some spools and stuff in it.

Review: this is a great field one of the best... nice people nice fields... just plain and simple a GREAT time... i just dont get what this whole controversy is about over all the fields in the area... dont we all play paintball?... and isnt paintball fun?... it could be worse and we could no tbe playin this sport at all... why can tall the fields get along and just forget about the burdens of teams and whose better and all of that... the local fields need to start up their own league or series where everyone is friends and gets along... cuz it seems to me that everytime someone loses or doesnt get their way the complain and say the field sux... i personally will play anywhere against anyone as long as i am playin... think about it like that layers and enjoy yourselves.... THIS FIELD ROX TRY ALL THE OTHERS AROUND THE AREA

have played at no other fields in this area
But I am holiday for 5 weeks from Australia and am touring with my wife and son, and playing ball with my son as we work our way around the States
Directions

easy to find and we do not even know our way around the local area
just follow the web sites directions
Review: Arrived at field and found the Pro-shop right away , nice and cool on these very hot days, watched the video on what to do and Pops filled us in the rest of the field rules.
We went for the upgrade to the Autocockers X 2 as we have both played with these before , the markers where in good condition and came with Dye barrels so they shot where you wanted them too , the one my son had developed a leak from the HPR so it was changed without any hassle this went to the chrono for setting but the LPR was all over the place back to the Pro-shop and it was changed again for an ION . This was Pops grandson's Jacob's back up gun and he said if that didn't work then we will get a brand new one out the box for us to play with , can't get any better than that .

PRICES
We were not charged the full price for the upgrade to the Autocockers , Revos and air bottles and the first 100 balls each , Total cost was $65 for 2 autocockers packages and a box of paint which is a very good price

FIELDS
Played on the Speed ball field which was a combination of spools various sizes and these Plastic boxes about 3'x3'x5' high it was a fast field once you got the layout sorted played this one 3 times
Played next on the town field which was fun I was the last one left on my side thought the guy in the hut in front of me was on my team but he was not as I found out after my son back doored me and went on to take the guy in the hut in front and found out it was one of his own team but he was facing the wrong way and was going to shoot him anyway
Last field we played on was the Hyperball field played this 3 times also the locals say there's not enough barricades but the field is just a bit bigger than the rest and it is very playable once you get into it . On the last game it was just my son and 4 of the opposition left a bit one sided only when you don't know my son 3 came at him but not all together bad move 1 came for the head bang that didn't work he was sent walking then 2 tried it the next time he took 1 then the other and then the last player thought he had to be out and just started walking from his bunker bad move my son went to his right asked him to surrender but recieved no answer so just put 1 in his butt , he was not too happy about that as he thought it was all over, was fun to watch 4 on 1 and the under dog won.
The field team was having a practise on Sunday at 7-30am and we were invited to play if we wanted didn't need to be asked twice we were there. Pop gave us paint at team price and we were set up with a Shocker each to play with for NO charge. Had a ball , hard , fast paintball at it's best no surrender rules just in your face balling , this was great

REFS
they were good , they didn't have to do much as everyone was honest and when shot they were out of there straight away, checked paint checks when asked , kept the play flowing,

FACILITES
Good

FOOD
You can't get better anywhere , Peter cooks up the best food on any field , it is fresh and hot and hits the spot.
When we went on the Sunday there was a selection of cerals there for the early birds who came out for the Team practise and any other early birds who came for play at 9am

PRO-SHOP
Sold all the usual stuff plus more , Shawn, Pop's son is a certified air smith so he can fix any gun which is good as this keeps the customers happy when problems ocurr and that can spoil your day of play

PAINT
We were shooting the STINGER it is fresh the next day from PMI and it shot straight and was consistent and broke on impact everytime .

CONCLUSION
If you want a good days balling and are in the Tri-State area pay Silver Spur a visit you won't be disappointed
Prices are good and cheap
And last but not least Pop's, Shawn, Jacob and the guys thanx for a great time we will be in contact soon . You guys ROCK

Here's a thought for all you guys who think PAINT is Expensive at $70-$90 USD as in Australia the Rec players have to pay $150 USD for a box if they buy the whole box and it is $230 USD if he buys it by the pod , and the paint is not fresh it is at least 8 weeks old if lucky as it has spent 6 weeks on a ship and then it spends time in customs and then time at the supplier to the fields so it could be between 8-12 weeks before the player gets it

enjoy your Paintball
