Review:
[Also known as Pasadena Paintball Park] Very nice place. We played on four different fields. They apparently have six or seven with a few more still being built. There were probably 30-40 people playing, but the fields could easily handle many more. The fields I saw had a good selection of bunkers, buildings and other structures. All of the fields are in the woods, with some having little or no underbrush, and others left in a more natural state. Some of the fields are big enough that you might not even see the other team at the very start, which brings back memories of playing woodsball 10-15 years ago. There are no speedball /airball fields.
The refs do a good job of actually being on the field, providing paint checks, and helping out people that need it. The owner, Jeff, was very friendly, and tried to keep the field turn-around from bogging down too much.
This is a field-paint only field, which I usually will avoid, but they have a good selection of reasonably-priced paint (3 grades from $40 to $60 per case), so I didn’t feel like I was getting raped.
They have cold drinks, but I didn't see any food for sale.
I had only one complaint: Actually check speeds at the chrono! I think one or two enforced chrono checks a day would improve the safety and enjoyment of the payers. New players are more likely to come back (and bring their friends) if they don’t end up with bleeding welts because someone unknowingly (or knowingly) has their gun cranked up to 330. The honor system at the chrono doesn't work.
I’m really glad I found this place, as I’ve been missing a local field since Anne Arundel Paintball Park and OA Bowie closed down.
