Review:
I attended this field for their "Topgun 1 vs. 1 Tournament" and I left everything but satisfied. To my suprise they allowed several employees to play in the tournament, and one of which placed #3 and won $100 winnings. I feel this this was a conflict of interest and against all business ethics. The employee that placed could have very well built the field, and also was "buddys" with all of the refs/staff/management that were overseeing the tournament. I was dissapointed to see the scrawny ammounts of merchandise that stocked what was supposed to be a pro shop.
----------Pros:----------
Tastey Barbeque
Frequent Tournaments
Safe Refs
----------Cons:----------
Disruptive Clientelle
Questionable Ethics
Lack of Fields (the entire park has three small fields)
Inadequate Airball Field
Location (the park is literally off the side of HWY 114)
Fill Station (you must have an employee fill your tank)
Prices
Overall I am very dissapointed in this field, private groups, tournaments players, and rec-ballers are not getting what they pay for. They do not allow bringing outside paint, and they still allow barrel plugs which are a known hazard. I will not be coming here again.
Safety- They are very big on using barrel bags while your not on the field, also they are extremely strict on keeping your mask on.
Fields- They have two scenario ball fields, and a speedball field. One is Ghost Town and is fun to play, there is a bridge and a little window on a tower for people who like to sit back and try to snipe. The other is Shipwreck and it is also fun, not as big as the other but still some good bunkers. The speedball field is very tight which is good for speedball, they did just get some new bunkers and i believe an actual snake, so it should make the game more fun.
Hours- It is from 12-4 on the weekends. Could be open for longer but sometimes if they is still lots of people there they will stay open a little late.
Prices- The prices are good on paint, field fee, rental and all day air.
Rules- Rules are simple, shoot the other person and don't get shot. They do have a surrender rule if your within a certain amount of feet from the other person.
Proshop- The proshop is good, they have a lot of new gear and guns. The owner will also adjust prices for you and help you out and not over charge you.
Staff- The staff is great! all very friendly and will help you out with anything you ask. They wont make fun of you or anything and are willing to help you and give you tips.
Refs- The refs are all fair and will call it right! they will split up the better players from the younger or newer players so it wont cause any problems or not let some people have fun. They all usually will keep it fair, they limit the ramping and try to get players not to do it.
Players- Lots of local players come every weekend and are good guys that will help you out. Little kids and recreational players come out every weekend also and just have a good time.
Facilities- there is an actual bathroom in the proshop that is kept clean and isnt disgusting.
Food- there isnt a whole lot of options, they have some candy bars and crackers but bring your own food if you want something more filling. They also have a limited supply of water bottles and sometimes run out so bring your own for that too if you can.
Just a great field! I'm a local and love playing at it because they are friendly and are fair! I gave it an 8 because the speedball field has some old bunkers that have holes and lean and fall on occasion but usually are filled every 2-3 games with air. also they didnt have an actual snake but they do now so they are upgrading. also they are starting to host a few tournaments that should be great!
