Review: Team exile as a whole is very impressed with this field. the staff is very friendly, always open to conversation, and they make a killer cheeseburger.

the fields are very nice, some range from thick woods to speed ball. everyone is always willing to help a newbie, but the experience players aren't left out. the rules are standard, no higher than 300fps.

we have found that team games are the most fun, since the standard walk on fifty fifty sprawl is no fun at any field.

overall, we would highly recommend this family friendly, very safe, extremely fun field.

Review: This field kicks @$$!! I have never played on another field so I guess there are better ones but... not to me. There are about 8 PLAYABLE fields. All the others are so overgrown and marshy that they don't use them all that often. There is a speed-ball course which has 3 blow up bunkers and the rest are just boards or tires. To me all bunkers are the same (they all do the job). The field is fairly big but when walk ons play on it there are sometimes games of 8-8 so size is good. The arena ball is also sweet. There are these two towers which have lower and upper levels and are great for laying down paint across the whole field. The sides of this field are speckled with bunkers and shrubs to hide behind. There are enough bunkers on one area that makes it very easy to get behind the other teams tower and unleash some hell. The warm up field is pretty annoying. It has like 20 bunkers and trees to hide behind. Its a good field to start your paintball career on. I personally am bored with it so i try to stay out of these games. The village is cool. There are broken down cars for bunkers and miniature houses which create some great bunkering. This field isn't played much because of the mosquito's. Indian hill has a awesome concept. There is a hill that's about 100-200 feet high and one team must defend it. They start at the top and hold that area. The other team surrounds the hill and assults it from the under brush.
There are other fields but I wont talk about them now.
The prices are good (i guess). Its the only field I play on so i don't know about other prices. For 500 paintballs it costs $20$. If you play on a league its 14 dollars. For 100 shots it is 4-5 dollars. A case is 80 dollars. Water is 50 cents. Hot dogs 1.00. Cheese burgers about 1.00. Double cheese burgers 1.50.
All the people here are nice too. The owners will sometimes give little discounts which is very nice. Refs call good calls and carry bug spray and will spray the bunker where your pinned down if you ask.
I love this field. Drop by sometime and play me.
If you already paintball here give me a comment adn we can talk.

Review: This Field has got to be the friendliest paintball Field in Vermont. the family here (the masons) is a great family to work with. farmer the owner is a great person. at this Field there is an organized paintball league that i proudly am a part of (team Crucifixion rules!!), and about three or four times a year there is an organized 5-man x-ball tourney. farmer also organizes all sorts of little tournaments like high school tournaments. now this Field is pretty much 95% rec ball with some dilapidated bunkers. but it still kicks alott of ass

Review: The Bad: I was rather disappointed with the "Speed-ball" Field as its basically a woods to meadow transition with some make-shift bunkers applied to it and labeled speed-ball, its honestly nothing close to speed-ball. All the fields are essentially woods-ball fields, with make-shift bunkers, and a huge amount of under growth that should have been cleared out years ago. The "castle" that people have mentioned...well sure its kinda cool...but I don't think I would want to trust a leaning two story building, with rotting plywood that appears to be very unstable. 90% of the bunkers need to be rebuilt, they are falling apart, have gaping holes in them, and its just simply time to fix or replace them. The fields are way too large, 300 yards is just too long for a field...and thats after walking a good distance to get to the field. The rentals are not all with RT or that seemingly coveted "full auto" rentals. Many of them are aging not so well, and I seriously question the integrity of some of the compressed air tanks that go out on those rentals, as well as the rusting CO2 tanks that go out on the others. Finally the road to get to the parking lot is absolutely horrible, I've seen logging trails smoother than it, if your looking to go down there with a car, you probably can, but I'd strongly suggest finding someone with a truck or an SUV to ride with. Some days because of the clay laiden soil up there it may be a very nice thing to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get out of there with.

The Good: Farmer and his family that operate the field are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They provide a fairly safe environment to play in, provide food and drinks are a reasonable price, as well as a reasonable price to play. They are great people simply put. The reffing is decent, they do their job, if something unsafe is observed they do something about it. There is a good chrono station available to players. They are focused on trying to get the sport out to new people and spread it, not just to jump on the bandwagon and make as much money as possible before it dies out.

Conclusion: Overall, its a decent place to play, there are far worse out there. There are however many things that could be improved upon to make the field a much better place to participate in this sport. Simply put there are no perfect fields out there, so nothing should get a 10 as its perfect. If you don't care for woods-ball your probably not going to care for Champlain valley. Due to the downfalls I have observed at the field, and in comparison with other fields I have been too, I give this field a 6 for rating.

Review: champlain valley paintball is quite possibly the best field in the northeast.

the prices are incomparable.

the setting is idyllic.

the owner, Farmer, is the nicest guy you'll find in a sport loaded with a-holes.

the others reviews have said it all already, so i'll finish with some advice: go play a couple of games of speedball and village at this place, then kick back with a burger or two and just enjoy vermont in the summertime.

I am a Vermonter and have played on a couple of fields in Vermont but nothing compares to Champlain Valley Paintball. The prices are great, the staff are very generous, the atmosphere and styles of courses are wonderful.
Review: I started paint balling about a year ago. I was pumped and nervous because I didnt know what was in store for me. When I stepped out of my car the first thing I saw was a small armor of tourney players rushing at each other on the sup air ball course that was set up I was so excited. Me and my friends gathered together and I was introduced to the manager. I paid my field fee which was only 5 bucks rented a nice 98 custom with a rt and a smart parts all american barrel. Then I bought a bag of 500 Severe Cyclone for 20 dollars. Then before I new it my mask was on and My friends and I were off to play are first game on Warm Up. This was just the start of my paintball experience after that day I was hooked all I could think about was paintball. Champlain Valley Paintball is the best course I have ever played the courses range from Warm up which is out in the woods complete with tires bunkers and all kinds of objects to hide behind. Speed ball which is my favorite course which has to sniper towers a barrage of tires boards and trees to hide behind. Wilderness which is another woodsy course kinda like warm up but doesn't have many bunkers just a lot of trees to hide behind even ledges and cliffs were you can hide inside the rocks. Village Which is another one of my favorites where there are cars, trucks small houses ledges and lots of trees. Most of the time there are defenders who stay tucked away in the village and attackers which can come from all sides who try to take over the village. Capture the flag matches are also played on this field to as well as all the other fields. Well as for fields the list still goes on but I would like to talk about some different aspects of the field. There is a chronograph station at the field to make sure everyone keeps there guns at a safe speed and also is used as a target range. The Refs are very good they call what they see and are always willing to run to paint check someone or fulfill any of your needs while on the field. The Field prices such as paint very cheap for high quality paint 20 dollars a bag for any walk on players or 80 dollars a case. Around 14 dollars a bag by the way is 500 rounds for tourney players and about 50-55 dollars or so for a case and also other discounts for anyone who plays in a tournament. The price for co2 and nitro fills is one dollar which is reasonable and most of the time they don't even make you pay for the air which is very generous. The food is great grilled to perfection right in front of you. You can get chesse burgers, double cheeseburgers, regular burgers, and hot dogs for around 1.50$ and take it from my own experience man is it good to have a paintball place that sells food especially when you come back from a intense game of speed ball. They have sodas ranging from Root beer, Dr pepper, Sprite, Slice, Pepsi and even candy bars Snickers, Kit Kat etc for around 1 dollar. The staff are some of the nicest people ive ever met they even gave me a barrel plug for me to keep because I lost mine. There always giving out some of there old paintball magazines they have read or talk to you about up coming products and give recomendations to which products are worth buying and some that arent so good. The only weakness about Champlain Valley Paintball is that there are no bathrooms its no biggy because they don't mind if you go out in the woods its just a little bit of a problem if you get down there and suddenly have to take a number 2 unless you can find some ferns around believe me its not pretty but thats really the only negative thing about Champlain Valley Paintball just make sure you go before you come. The best thing about Champlain Valley Paintball is that when you come and get to know each other its like one big family everyone is there to have fun and enjoy the great game of paintball. Pro or Newbie I hope to see you at Champlain Valley Paintball soon!

Review: I have played at Champlain paintball for three years. It is the best field in Vermont. THere are so many different courses ranging from deep woods to forts to speed ball. They even have a three man field. The owner, Roger, is really nice. He let the whole Middlebury High School football team play for free. It is really cheap and everyone knows everyone. A great place to play.
