SAFETY: Top notch field in terms of safety. Everybody is checked for chrono every game, and checked for barrel sleeves after every game. They may overreact sometimes, but you have to take safety seriously.
FIELDS: Splatter Ranch has two fields, the North and South field. They are located a little bit far from the staging area, the South being the farthest. The North field is very clean, and maintained. It is mostly small buildings and wooden spindles, along with cactus and bushes sprinkled in between. The South field is the more overgrown of the two, and is used the least. It has a ravine running down one side, and bushes and trees all over.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Usually open on holidays. Winter hours: 9:00 until 5:00. Summer hours: 6:00 till 12:00...I think.
PRICES: A little bit expensive. If you don't have a membership, you're looking at about $80 for the field pass, paint ($60...a little pricy), and all day air. If you have a membership ($360/year), you can play the whole day free of charge...unless you need to buy paint, which is only $50. It's Field Paint Only, however.
PROSHOP: Splatter Ranch has a very minor proshop, which has gloves, markers, feed necks, squeegees, tank covers, barrels, drinks, etc.
STAFF: Generally friendly. Helpful all of the time, for markers, etc.
REFS: Good refs, always working. Usually at least 4-6 refs on the field at once. If you need help, they will help.
PLAYERS: Mostly Newbies. Still, at good amount of regulars. Most are nice, and will help you out if you need help. Everybody knows eachother, making for a friendly environment.
FACILITIES: 2 Fields, sometimes a hotdog stand, a big trailer (check in, rentals, etc.), and a big staging area (most of it in shade). It may take a while to get signed in, however, if you don't get there reasonably early.
FOOD: A hotdog stand or the "roach coach" ( burgers, chips, etc.) come by almost if not every week. The hotdogs are great. Also, they have gatorade and bottled water in the trailer. Dominos delivers there a lot of the time.
RENTALS: Piranas (eh...), a decent clip on pod pack, pods, OK goggles (clean), and 100 rounds of field paint for an average rental. I think its around $5 to rent...Bring your own gear!!!| Last edited on Saturday, March 29th, 2008 at 10:51 am PST |

Splatter Ranch is a great field probably the best one that i have played at. they are also the most safe field i have played at too but some times they can over react about the barel plugs even if the hopper and barel are off they still require the barel plugs to take the barel covers off the air source needs to be of the gun even if you have an on/off which is crazy. The pro shop is not great they carry a limited supply of stuff. the are a bit pricy $20 for the field pass $5 for all day air and$59 for a case of 2000 rounds. but the staf is great they are very outgoing and fun, they eill also try to help you with your gun or other equipment to the best of their abilities. the safty vid is a bit corny thought. |

This field is pretty nice, with 2 fields that are big and have many hiding spots and alot of trees to hide behind. This field has a couple problems: prices are very high when it comes to a day of paintballing because the field first of all is not BYOP and a case is 60 bucks and field fee and all day air is pretty bad to but the experience was good with a lot of newbies that helped in target practice and honig your skills but there is occasional good players that come in to give you a challenge.
This field would be a 9 or 10 but prices are very high| Last edited on Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 at 2:16 pm PST |

It was clean and open, I'me not really a fan of playing paintball in wide open fields but this one was good. While it was open there was enough terrain and obsticles to take cover behind, could perhaps use some more objects to take cover though.
To be honest my first impression of the staff was a bad one, before I even got on the field. I wont go into much detail about that but a couple of the other staff member's made feel better about the place later on, there's some real good guy's there.
I think the best thing about the field is that it was open during the holiday's. I live in a place that you can only play paintball outdoor's 6 month's of the year, so when I was on my Christmas vacation this was a real treat for me.
I couldent bring my own marker's without hassle due to customs regulations at the airport's so I had to use a rental, very dissapointing. Those marker's were C***!!! 280FPS is the maximum allowed speed on the course...fine by me, the rental I was using was shooting 240 if I was lucky, I asked if it could be adjusted, nope! Not allowed, I asked to use a different marker....nope, the guy say's that they all shoot like that, wont make a difference.
240FPS on an open field like that is ridiculous, but I still had fun...just like the guy said I would. |

23 bps- Great field, admission a little pricey, BYOP
Xtreme Pursuit- Fun, but you have to use field paint, which stinks
Wild Planet Paintball- Decent fields, cheap admission, BYOP |

Safety- Very strict and very safe refs, 280 fps is kinda slow, but I am usually up in everybodies face :-)
Fields- INCREDIBLE fields, I personally love outdoor fields. I would come here always if I could bring my own paint. Very spread out, plenty of room for a big game.
Hours of Operation- 9 am to 5 pm is long enough for me!
Prices- $20 admission, $5 rental package(the guns really stink!), 500 rounds for $20, 2000 rounds for $59. Really pricey for the quality of the paint.
Rules- Strict enforcement on staying under 280 fps, also strict enforcement on barrel sleeves.
Services- The staff is very nice, they are much better than any refs I've met at any other field. They also will help you fix your gun if you are having issues.
Pro Shop- Very small, but better than no proshop
Staff- As I've said before, very nice, very outgoing and they even threw a small tournament for 500 paintballs (our team won)
Refs- Same as staff
Food- No body gave us food when we were there, but they sell soda, water, gatorade, and even donuts!
Overall, if the paint was either cheaper or you could bring your own, this would be the best field. But since it is not, I give it a 9.

Ive been playing here for a while and watched it grow, theres a new generation of kids here now so all the timmys and Protos are gone, mostly spyders with a splatter of ions here and there.
Pros-
Service- The refs are there to help you, if you have a problem they will fix it for you. If you ever have a problem with other players or see cheating it will be taken care of quickly. Manager is kind of hardened from dealing with some many kids who are still in the single digit age but is still a huge help.
BPS- The BPS is regulated and maintained! No jackass cranking his gun up to 300s to hurt kids.
Cons-
Expense- Its expensive, without a doubt.
New Refs- The new refs are kinda green, and someone must have made heads roll. You cant get your gun out of your bag without a ref getting ready to tackle you out of safety concern, its understandable, but needs to be relaxed. Its severely aggravating. Especially if you work on your guns alot.
It can be boring, it can be a blast. Show up early and do 3 on 3 with your buddies all morning. Expect low grade guns and to play more mind games than actual shooting.
Dont bother busting out your dm7 or what not, grab a pump gun or a mech cocker and go out and have some good old fashioned recball.| Last edited on Monday, February 12th, 2007 at 2:24 pm PST |

The field seemed fairly well run, with a helpful staff, they even ordered pizza for some of the guys playing :) Splatter Ranch is broken into 2 fields; close and far (referenced from the staging area). I only got a chance to play the far field, as the close one was being used by a private party. It was well laid out with plenty of cover from both sides if you're will to do even a little running. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone. |

This is a great field. It is popular and usually has a lot of people of all paintball experiences playing there. the refs are great at helping out the newer players and talking with the more advanced ones. the only thing that I dont like about it is that the way the feilds are setup they encourage long range gunfights. normally this is fine but wen you have people of all experiences playing the newer ones dont even want to get close enough to see the other team, much less take them out. the field design makes them stay even farther back. it just makes it harder to get people who are already scared of getting shot into the game. other than that, Its a great field, with great people running it. |

Ok, first off, this WAS a great field. I have been playing here since i started. the refs WERE awesome people. way better than Xtreme Pursuit's staff. The two fields are great for the just starting or advanced players. It makes me sick when people critisize this location. Prices are expensive yes, but its worth it to me. The refs and EXCELENT and their personalities are great. So go ahead and try it out. Food comes at 11-12 on saturdays only, not great. often refered as ''The Roach Coach''. Chances are you might like it, but now a days, the NEW staff is not anywhere better than the last guys. GL HF! |
