While I have been something of a captive to this field (its the only thing within hours of Ktown), it s an okay field. Nothing overly fancy, but it will do.
Safety is the number one concern. New people get a safety briefing before even seeing a field. The rentals are ok (tippman carbines, 98 customs, and BT16s), but are maintained and good for new players. Prices are okay for air and field, and you can even rent scuba tanks (if you dont feel like walking all the way back up the hill for every refill). Andre (the manager), takes care of everything, and the field is largely run by volunteers (usually Airmen or soldiers from the surrounding bases who also serve as refs, most of whom are knowledgable).
The airball course is dirt, but its a little small for anything more than 5-man. Its the only field near the rental shack (about 50ft). The rest of the fields are down a dirt road, with a big parking lot/ staging area. There is one huge field in the shape of an "L", which is typically split into two for normal play. One half is a straight , up-hill battle with a fort in the middle and two large barricades at the top. The other has a fort on the top of a hill, more or less in the middle of the field (both fields are about 2 acres). Next, theres a little speedball course (it has recently been over-hauled, and isnt nearly as crappy as it was this time last year). The bottom field is almost all flat, with a bunch of craters on one end, and fairly large trees and half-decent cover on the other. The last field is pretty new. Its a big fort, surrounded by dense trees on one side, open ground straight ahead, and a big hill to the right (CAUTION!!! DO NOT GO OVER THE HILL!!! IT DOUBLES AS THE BACKSTOP FOR THE SHOTGUN/SKEET RANGE!!!!!).
Ive had almost no problems with other players here; most people are friendly, usually miltary, and follow the rules.
Definately the place for anyone in the area to come and play because THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO GO.
***** EDIT: January 2008 *****
So attendance has gone waaaaaaay down. I mean, even for winter, this is getting ridiculous. Theres been a lot of discussion that the fields (especially the airball one) need to be expanded BIG TIME. For the most part, the more devoted speedballers seem to be going to Mannheim R&G since vogelweh is so unwilling/unable to do anything with their fields (I will give them some credit, they finally put up new netting, but the bunkers are getting pretty ragged and customers are becoming alarmingly few and far between)| Last edited on Friday, January 25th, 2008 at 3:12 am PST |

The first (and only) field ive ever played on. The fields were pretty cool but playing on them expecting to play with other people is not a good idea. The germans are very intimidating and have good skills and guns. the staff there were cool and gave us some free mini lessins. I hate how they switched to compressed air because the tanks are way too expensive but its a fun field |

I've only played at one other field here in Germany and it was located in Griesheim which is about an hours drive from Ramstein AFB. It was a nice field, good prices, and the owners were very helpful and knew what they were talking about. The only problem is, because of its location it's all speed ball and hyper ball, extremely nice for all those speed ball players but i don't recommend it for woods ball players. |

The field is off of Volgweh but you have to go onto the base in order to get to the field. |

They are very strong on safety, so if you and your group are the kind that like to go and screw around and break rules, its not the field for you to play at.
It's great for military folks who need a place to play because it's right there on hand.
They have 7-8 fields, 5 of which are woods ball, one is speed ball and they have another that's for hyper ball, the hyper ball is a new field and was recently built, but its not open the same hours as the rest, it has shorter time to play on. The fields are pretty large, the speedball course is the only field thats kinda small in size.
The hours are pretty good from about 10am-4pm, if you and your group have been out on the field all day they are pretty lenient about letting you stay on for a little longer, me and my team have been known to stay 1-2 hours after closing.
The prices are good, the paint is a little high priced, but then again that's most fields in europe, the rules are the same as anywhere else, and the services are outstanding.
The shop is not on the field, its about a 1 minute drive, or 3-4 minute walk away. its not big but the prices are good, and they have pretty much all you need right there.
They don't sell food, and the facilities, again are not on the field, they are the same as the shop, about a 3-4 minute walk.
There are no direct refs, so its pretty much honest play, but if your having problems with cheating players that staff is happy to take care of it for you.
Plus the old rentals, which i admit were kinda crappy, have now been replaced with new and improved.
If you get the chance i say stop by and play a game...or two.| Last edited on Monday, June 19th, 2006 at 8:34 am PST |

This field is great for military folks looking to go play some paintball! The only thing is that its kind of...well...shabby. The obstacles are old and half broken wood. They work, but barely. The field designs are awesome though! I would reccomend playing here. Their prices are a little steep compared to the stateside fields, but its alright. NO EXTRA FEES FOR WALK ON PAINT!!! |

The course has improved in just a month. The field now called Hamburger Hill has another new fort and stand. We practically played that field and the far field all day long. Another thing about playing at this field is that there are people coming from all over Germany to play. They are hosting a speed ball tournament in Oct. The only downfall is that there website really needs some upkeep to it.
The field is great for the price. If you have all the equipment you need then you are set. The price of the balls are a little high but they are right there for you. The markers are not bad for newbies like myself. The people who are there are very helpful and they have added a new speed ball course.| Last edited on Saturday, August 20th, 2005 at 11:12 pm PST |

Well let me get started by saying that there are 5 fields here. A newly built speedball course
the older speed ball course, a "capture the fort" field, a short woods ball and a VERY LARGE woods ball course. I have played all of them except for the large woods ball course. The newly built speedball course is by-far the best field out there. The other speedball course isn't that great beacause they have part of it roped off. If they unroped it, the course would be much better. The capture the fort field isn't that exciting but its ok to play when you get tired with the speedball courses(which I don't see possible, but I LOVE speedball). The other smaller woods ball course has a little fort but its uphill so basically whoever is downhill is being raped. Overall this course is alright. The staff is VERY friendly and mostly everybody who goes there is nice(except the newbies who think they all that). But other than that the field is great. Im not gonna stop playing it and when I move im gonna miss it! Well I hope this answered a couple of your questions, and my recommendation is to play this field when you have the chance |

I have played at this field for about a year now and every time that i go i have a blast .
This field has four fields but they are working on six fields during the off season.
One of the fields will be a maze and the other will be a terminate field. Some of people say that the fields were in bad shape when they went to go play, and that the guns wore also in bad shape. All that was the old manager fallt. But now there is a new manager of the paintball range (andre) sense he has been arountd there has been alot of changes. Like the price of a case of paint has gone down form 85-65 $ now if you ask me that is a major impovement. The ranges are cleand once every month. So the ranges look alot better now even aome of the ranges have some new modefications and repairs, and the guns they have for rent are also in alot better condition then when they were. | Last edited on Friday, November 26th, 2004 at 12:47 pm PST |

There is a cool place in France that has all kinds of busted out broken buildings. The only thing is that it is freakin 1 to 1 and half hours away. But its worth it. |

This place is alright. I haven't played for very long. I don't have much to compare to besides: SC Village in California and this old broken down base near the French border. This field, in my opinion would be better if the people that played there weren't so cocky. Other than that, I think the fields could be a lot better set up. The place has a lot more potential. The costumer service is good. The guns are not good. They have Tippman Carbines. They are dirty and I had a ball break in just about every game. Aside from all the downfalls of the place, it is the only place I know of to play in a short distance to travel. I think it is a good place to play for rookies like myself. Just borrow or buy a new marker before you go. |

This field i think is very average. Its prices are very bad and they never fixed the course for the longest time. They don't take care of there rentals and equipment. the fields are very average. They have 4. One large speed ball, 2 forts, and one big course. The big course i think is the funnest. It is huge and fun to play with a large group. The club that owns the course always says they are going to make a new one or improve on one but they never do. All i have seen change is the prices which are pretty bad. If i were in the states i wouldn't play at this course but here in Germany what can you do? |

this place has 4 feilds right now, one speedball, 2 forts, and one large senerio field. me and my buddies, are working there right now, and are in the process of making a new speedball course for tourneys. the paint is 25 dollars for 500 midnight. the rentals are pretty crappy pro carbines because they havent been cleaned for like years, but the new guy is starting to get everything working again. |
